How to stop biting your nails? in Health ·
Does anyone happen to know a truly PROFESSIONAL cosmetic clinic where I could actually get some real help? I’ve been thinking about booking an appointment, but honestly, I’m a bit self-conscious; I really want to find a place where the staff has seen much worse than what I'm dealing with. If you've had a good experience somewhere, I'd really appreciate the lead (feel free to DM me)

I’m dealing with the exact same thing!
I’m 27 now, and this habit is just deeply ingrained at this point—it’s a tough one to break. I’ve been biting my nails for as long as I can remember, to the point where the skin around my nail beds has actually thickened and leveled out with the nail itself, making my hands look pretty rough. Back when I was a kid, I figured I’d just grow out of it once I hit adulthood, but clearly, that wasn't the case. It’s especially embarrassing at work since my job involves constant interaction with people. I’ve thought about seeking help, but honestly, there’s a certain level of awkwardness in walking into a high-end nail salon for a manicure when you have this issue. Just last week, I picked up some of that bitter-tasting topical solution from a local drugstore, so we'll see how that goes; so far, I’ve managed to stay hands-off. I'm really curious, though—is it actually possible for those deformed nail beds to return to a normal shape, or has anyone actually managed to fix that?
