Bryan Adams6 said:Look, it’s better than how they were playing earlier, but I wouldn't call it anything close to reasonable.🙂

The Miami and Orlando games are scheduled at a decent time, letting me grab a bite and actually get some sleep before morning... I wonder when they’ll finally scrap this NBA schedule on 01/09.🙂

Man, this wraps up at 4:30 AM, and yesterday it started at that exact same time.😬

Quote : with Stoudemire questionable due to a sprained left ankle, the Knicks look to get their offense on track and avoid their third straight loss Saturday night when they visit the Sacramento Kings.

In plain English, Carmelo Anthony over 26.5.

Add Golden State Warriors over 93.5 to that, and I'm pretty much set for the year.

Happy New Year to everyone hanging out in this thread.🙂 👋

I’m aware that the Chicago Bulls have a game scheduled for tomorrow, which is finally at a decent hour 🤷

Arthur Hill2 said:I think the Chicago Bulls should take the Clippers tonight. The LA Clippers still haven't quite found their rhythm, and their defense looks way too disorganized right now.

The matchup against Blake Griffin should also go the Bulls' way, especially since he'll be guarded defensively by a struggling Carlos Boozer.

I think the Bulls should take the win against the Clippers tonight. The Clippers still haven't quite found their rhythm, and their defense looks incredibly disjointed right now.

Griffin should probably go over the total as well. To be honest, he’s facing Carlos Boozer on defense, and that's a matchup where Boozer just doesn't provide much resistance.

Rose's foul trouble tonight was a total disaster. 🙂

He played 27 minutes, plus those last three minutes of stoppage time. 🙂

In the third quarter, he hits two buckets in a row, then immediately starts racking up fouls. 🙂

"I wanted to be more aggressive and attack the lane. Fouls are just something I have to deal with; I can't let them get in my head," he said. "I'm just glad we walked away with the win."

Now, looking at how the Clippers handled defense inside the paint today:

Chicago's offense will now attempt to exploit a Los Angeles squad that allowed the Spurs to shoot 56.3 percent and put up 48 points in the paint.

Dammit, what a joke. Rose was finally finding his rhythm and then he goes and picks up his fourth foul right when things were heating up.

EDIT: And that fifth one looked suspicious as hell. These stupid calls just completely ruin a massive momentum shift.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Some low-level sports junkies are also busy dissecting player statements.

Rose dropped down to 1.70.

EDIT: A bit of turbulence regarding the Durant-Westbrook : Quote situation:

Thunder notebook: Russell Westbrook struggles after altercation with Kevin Durant

Russell Westbrook let his emotions get The Best of Him Wednesday Night, resulting in a heated exchange with Kevin Durant on the bench during a second-quarter timeout.
Westbrook simply never found his rhythm again. He ended the night with what was arguably the poorest performance of his entire career—just four points on a dismal 0-for-13 shooting night, alongside six assists, three rebounds, and four turnovers.
The friction seemed to ignite with only 3 1/2 minutes left in the second quarter. After driving into the paint, Westbrook kicked the ball out to Thabo Sefolosha in the corner. When Sefolosha declined a wide-open three-point attempt, Westbrook snapped, yelling at Sefolosha to "shoot the (expletive) ball."
Sefolosha and several teammates, including Durant and center Kendrick Perkins, tried to settle Westbrook down during his subsequent trip to the free throw line. However, those emotions boiled over toward the bench just a minute later.
Durant appeared to try and calm Westbrook once more, but Westbrook seemingly took offense to the way Durant approached him. The two players began shouting at one another and eventually had to be pulled apart.
Durant patted Westbrook on the head as they headed back onto the court following the timeout, and the pair appeared to be back on the same page for the remainder of the game.
“We’re going to disagree sometimes, like I’ve always been saying,” Durant said. “But I’m behind him 110 percent, and he’s the same way with me. And you seen when we came on the floor we clicked and everything started to work from there.”
Westbrook was unavailable for comment following the game. It looked as though he had already cleared out of the locker room before the media arrived.

Keith Moore21 said:Look, analoghound21, let's stop wishing each other luck. We both lose a few bucks now and then. 😢 Miami hit me hard today, so I honestly wish they had just lost instead. 😠

I was basically waving goodbye to my money once the DJ dropped those two back-to-back three-pointers right at the end of the second quarter. 🙂

Plus, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James completely missed their dunk attempts.

Just a cool 10 points down. 🤣

Arthur Hill2 said:Casual betting today, serious business tomorrow:

Blake Griffin is an over (he put up 22 last time; now he has Chris Paul coming in to provide those assists, and he dropped 31 against the Spurs last game).
The Pacers (figuratively speaking, Toronto is rough, but the Pacers crushed Detroit at home even with a subpar starting lineup).
Tony Parker is an under (I have no idea why, perhaps because he mentioned he doesn't expect the Spurs to be contenders this season, or maybe because he's being protected defensively by a solid Chris Paul?).
Miami -9.5 (I highly doubt the Bobcats will manage to keep the Heat within a 10-point margin).

Odds are 8, stakes are minimal.

Good luck to everyone, though you might want to follow someone else tonight 👋!

I love Miami 😢

Griffin finally delivered a decent performance.

I think Rose over 24.5 is a pretty solid play for tonight.

I'll get a damn analysis written up later.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Injured, huh? What a mess.

Robert Green93 said:how that little play by the Bobcats snatched it from them in the final second 2/4
hahahaha
let them have it.

this Miami squad is honestly nauseating when they play like this.James is just out there on his own; nobody is helping him.
it’s like they’re all just standing there acting like statues.

I almost hope the Bobcats pull it off.
Good luck to them, because I am checking out.

15 points, 5-9 from mid-range, and a single turnover, yet he still can't get it done.😕

Dwyane Wade is totally lost.

The myth of Miami being unbeatable is officially crumbling in my mind.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Taking things easy today, going heavy tomorrow:

Blake Griffin over (He cleared 22 last time, and now he’s got Chris Paul coming in to provide those assists; plus, he dropped 31 against the Spurs in their last matchup)
Indiana (Toronto has been playing poorly lately, and Indiana absolutely crushed them at home even when their starters weren't at their best)
Tony Parker under (I can't quite put my finger on why, but maybe it's because he mentioned he doesn't expect the Spurs to be true contenders this season, or perhaps it's because he's being kept in check defensively by a solid opponent?)
Miami -9.5 (I have my doubts that the Bobcats will be able to keep the Miami Heat within a 10-point margin.)

Odds are 8, keeping the stake minimal.

Good luck to everyone. You might want to follow someone else tonight 👋!

Here is some interesting data regarding the Chris Paul over:

While with the Hornets, Paul lost 11 of 13 Games in San Antonio, including playoffs. However, he has averaged 26.3 points while shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 59.2 percent (13 for 22) from 3-point range in his last eight visits.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Dwyane Wade gets within striking distance of 23 points with maybe 8 minutes left on the clock, then proceeds to miss four consecutive shots and one free throw, completely killing the over 🙂

Pau Gasol puts up 22 points and logs 37 minutes of action despite having played three straight games 🙂

Rondo sinks a three-pointer and draws a couple of questionable fouls. He is clearly playing with more aggression than he did last season. That much is certain. Plus, he logged 44 minutes of playtime.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
To start things off, I’m calling it now: LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are going to outscore the entire Boston Celtics roster combined. 😬

I honestly find it hard to believe the Los Angeles Lakers would drop 95 points against a fresh Utah Jazz squad. It just feels off.

My plays:

Parlay 1:
Miami Heat -10
Rajon Rondo under 16
Dwyane Wade over 24

Parlay 2:
Pau Gasol under 18
Miami Heat to win
Atlanta Hawks or Milwaukee Bucks

I have massive hopes for that second slip! 🙂

Good luck to everyone tonight. 👋

It could certainly work—J.J. Barea, Kevin Love, John Wall, and Ricky Rubio are all above-average players.

If only they could somehow find a way to deal with Dark.🤣
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
When it comes to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Ricky Rubio was the absolute standout for me—just a classic, pure floor general.

They kept the Oklahoma City Thunder hanging on until the very last minute, but after a little help from the refs, they pulled away for the win.👋
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
I really appreciate this concept of tracking our own +/- units independently. I'll be joining in on the action tonight as well. 🙂.

Pau Gasol under 👋

Alex Cook said:When was the last time the Los Angeles Lakers started a season 0-3?

And when was the last time the Los Angeles Lakers finished a playoff series with an 0-4 sweep? 🙂
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
I agree. It’s just too much, especially since they held a lead over the Dallas Mavericks by nearly 40 points before cutting it back down to 12.

Besides, it isn't really excessive for them to run their starting lineups during garbage time.
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
James Castillo8 makes a valid point here; Kobe Bryant is essentially the only one truly capable on this Los Angeles Lakers squad right now, so I expect him to hammer away at 20 shots or more tonight.

+Word is Pau Gasol is dealing with an injury.
