Multi-Quote Feature in Forum Help! ·
goldentrucker11 said:Was there ever an actual time when the multiquote feature actually worked? Or has that button just been sitting there since the site launched to bait new users? Like, "Ooh, look, I can multiquote..." 🙂 😁

Not in all my time here... and I haven't even been around that long...

p.s. Johnny Depp, you look incredibly familiar, especially that avatar 😁

Look, I know how multi-quote works—I've used it on plenty of old vBulletin boards where it actually functions fine😳. I just stepped away for a few hours and came back to find you guys have already flooded the place with a ton of posts 🙄 😬

That’s exactly why I’m asking about this multi-quote thing... it’s actually useful. I’m not trying to spam the board just to hear myself talk when I can just wrap everything into one solid post. But doing it manually? It’s a chore—copying what someone else said, grabbing their post number, hunting down their handle... it’s a hassle. If multi-quote actually worked, things would move a hell of a lot faster. 😁

I know, but go back and read what I was actually saying from the jump... I meant that back when they had that other style, it felt like it worked. That's all I'm getting at. I'm just saying it *felt* that way, I'm not certain.😳

Alright, if that's how everyone's feeling about it...

Jerry Martin19 said:The forum was supposed to level up, but I'm not sure how much actually stuck. Pretty sure this whole thing kicked off back in January, but my memory's a bit fuzzy.

So, is that gone for good? 😕

btw, nobody seems to have a clue how this multi-quote feature works 😕

Fair enough, but can you walk me through what 😬
actually is?

What do you mean, a migration?? 😕

I don't know...I'd say focus on fixing that UI, but not this part... feels off... though I'm not even sure if they're actually working on it over there.

Not sure... I think I actually managed to multi-quote last night without doing it manually, but then again, I was pretty wiped out after a long day at school and everything, so who knows...

I noticed that yesterday (on the day of mourning), when they switched to that black, gray, and white "look," the quote function worked just fine... so why isn't it working on this blue one? 😕

Just saw that myself... respect.
Windows XP or Windows Vista? in Software ·

Exactly. Give me results, not empty promises.😂

silverorca13 said:So, I'm running a cracked version of Windows Vista Ultimate with an activator. It runs okay, I guess, but man, it eats CPU cycles. First off, those gadgets take up about 15% of your processor, so you really ought to just kill them. Then there's Aero—if you aren't rocking at least 128MB of VRAM, don't even bother. Windows is supposed to disable Aero automatically if the GPU can't handle it, but if it doesn't, just turn it off yourself because it absolutely drains your memory. Plus, some pirated games won't even run; they just crash during installation. Everything looks fine and the features are there, but honestly, I still prefer Windows XP. Not just for the gaming, but because the driver support is way better. There's a massive lack of drivers for Vista right now.

Aero probably wouldn't be an issue for me since my card has 256MB, but I think we should wait for a service pack and better drivers before jumping to conclusions about whether it's good or bad. I was hanging out at a buddy's place and played around with his Vista setup for a bit... the interface is actually really well-designed. Visually, it's solid. As for functionality—whether it actually supports all the software and games out there—I haven't really figured that part out yet. 🙄

I don't get why everyone is hating on Vista so hard. Yeah, I get it—it isn't exactly a massive upgrade over Windows XP, it just looks better. But still... the way you guys are all collectively losing it over it... 😕

What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger on installing Windows Vista on this rig, or is it going to be a total disaster? Will it actually run smoothly?

hard drive - 250 GB
GPU - Nvidia GeForce 7600 gt
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual Core Processor 4200
2 GB RAM

I've been hearing that Windows Vista is pretty much useless right now. It’s nothing special, at least for the time being, until game devs and software companies actually optimize their stuff for Windows Vista and we get at least Service Pack 1. 😈
