IBM drive not showing up in My Computer

All those generic tips online are telling me to try formatting it, or changing the drive letter, or God knows what else. But formatting isn't even an option (you can see that in my screenshot), and changing the drive letter did absolutely nothing, and when I tried to manually update the drivers in Device Manager—even though there isn't even a little yellow warning icon next to the IBM drive—it just tells me everything is working perfectly fine...
So, yeah... please, someone help me! 😁
(And don't let the screenshot confuse you, the stuff under my Computer Management is actually just some image I found on a random website showing where you're supposed to be able to format things 😁 )
I didn't want to start a whole new thread, so please just give me some advice here.
What I did was pull the drive out of my laptop and popped it into an external enclosure. I plugged it into a different computer, but now I have no clue how to actually get to the folders that were sitting on my old laptop's desktop. Those files should be somewhere on the IBM drive, right?
