Has everyone just collectively decided to forget how this actually went down?
It started like this:
Kimberly Ward jumped into the thread and, out of nowhere, started mocking and judging Linda Harris44 for not having kids:

Basically, she was making fun of and belittling Linda Harris44 with that comment, even though nobody had even brought up her parental status in the first place.
Then, Ethan Barrett22 chimed in with a congratulation, apparently assuming from Kimberly Ward's post that she had somehow become a mother in the meantime:

At that point, Kimberly Ward turned to insults, doubling down on the comments about her lack of children and claiming it stemmed from an inferiority complex:

It’s pretty clear here: Kimberly Ward unprovokedly began disparaging Linda Harris44 by mocking her for not having children, then later repeated the provocation and added insults, calling her a chicken but saying it would be beneath her to insult animals.

I don't see what the issue is.
It's obvious Kimberly Ward initiated the provocation regarding the lack of children, leaned into it, and kept the insults coming. Honestly, all of Kimberly Ward's remarks are minor compared to the insults we see daily from the same few people, and the jabs Ethan Barrett22 mentioned are just trivialities.

stormyrider28, I can back you up on this—Brenda Gonzalez12 is constantly picking fights and coming for Ibrahim-Pr, along with anyone else who dares to call out his behavior. He’ll probably turn his sights on me next, but honestly, I couldn't care less if he tries...

Exactly. Rules work best when they apply to everyone equally; the second you start making exceptions, things fall apart.
It’s like when I asked for some weight loss tips in the Nutrition subforum; he immediately went on the offensive, attacking people and their advice, trying desperately to convince me that I shouldn't listen to them because they "didn't know anything." He basically told me to go find another board to ask questions on. When I ignored his drama and actually listened to the community to get clarity, he turned his sights on me too. It seems to be his default setting: if someone ignores him, he lashes out with insults. Once I pointed that out, he just doubled down on the condescension.

As for what Lorelei said, that isn't about being "civilized"—it's just embarrassing for him personally, and it reflects poorly on this entire site if they let him walk away without any consequences.

This is a complete disaster. After all those vile insults where he calls Lorelei a slut, a moron, and tells her to go solicit men on the street or swallow semen, and claims she's obsessed with filth and gas, now he’s gone as far as cursing her mother and making direct threats... It doesn't get more disgusting than this. You don't see this kind of behavior on any other US forum; honestly, he could be sued for enough damages to pay out for the next ten years.

It feels pretty weird to see someone defending him so fiercely after those disgusting insults, especially when he’s being so relentlessly obnoxious about it. It's just not normal.

That’s a fair point, but wouldn't it be easier for the moderators to just handle it than for one person's actions to force this entire forum into a legal battle with the police?
He only insulted me once, but he's attacking people in almost every single post—Ibrahima-pr, Gnuujninestrin, the right way of life, Daniel Davis40, and now Linda Harris44. If he were targeting me the way he targets them, I'd file a lawsuit without a second thought. We didn't join this forum to be insulted for no reason.

It’s true that Monty always lashes out at anyone who dares to disagree with him
for absolutely no reason. He actually targeted me recently:

There’s zero excuse for this kind of behavior; if you disagree with someone, you can explain your position politely without resorting to insults. What Linda Harris44 said is truly repulsive and a complete disgrace—this shouldn't be tolerated.
