I’m in the same boat—it’ll be almost a month since my surgery. I actually agree with taking the molds off early, just so you can see the actual profile difference right away... because honestly, if it looks like a disaster... too big, too thick, just plain ugly... my friends would probably tell me I look exactly the same, which would drive me absolutely crazy!... Now, about a month has passed, and I’ve started lymphatic drainage massages... the nose actually looks smaller now. Honestly, now I'm starting to worry it might end up looking too small 😁... I guess we’ll just have to wait until the very end... I'm holding out until March 2014...🙂
I’ve been home for three days now. I think my procedure was on Friday, so I had the weekend to finally get back to myself. But honestly, until those tampons were out, I could barely function during those three days. The swelling was intense, and the bruising was pretty heavy too. At least the holes have closed up now, and I'm feeling slightly more like someone who could actually head into work or class the next day... I don't know how people do it. Once the tampons come out, everything feels a lot easier. I don't use any harsh cleaning solutions or anything; I just apply some ointment to the area inside...
I'm still feeling pretty fresh... I don't feel much pain... though there's saliva everywhere...🙂)
I finally got my cast off on Thursday. My doctor told me that after ten days, I should start with some lymphatic drainage sessions—maybe four or five treatments total. She did mention that if the first one ends up being too painful, I should probably push it back a few days...
I think I read something similar about blowing your nose somewhere on this forum... I can't quite remember which page. I don't recall seeing any specific warning about absolutely NOT touching your nose for, say, several months. Honestly, I have no idea how anyone would even think to blow their nose just ten days after surgery. Mine is constantly running, but I just stick to using Q-tips...
Hey everyone... So, tomorrow marks exactly 7 days since my cosmetic surgery. I went with Dr. Glumicic. I spent several years searching for the right place, and after weighing all my options, he was the one who finally won me over. To give you the rundown... My issue was strictly having very thick skin on my nose. He told me straight up that he couldn't just cut the skin and tighten it because it would look completely disproportionate with my facial features. He also brought up breathing issues—if he cut too much, I might not be able to breathe properly. All this to say... when I first saw myself in photos, I thought I looked terrible. But when I compare a photo of my old nose to how I look in the mirror now, the change is definitely there. That irregular shape I had (I used to call it my "country nose") is gone... It was everywhere. I was constantly pulling at it or trying to adjust it so it wouldn't look so bulbous. Of course, part of me wanted those dramatic hills and valleys, like some celebrity, but let's be real... when you have certain facial features, there's only so much you can do. Anyway, it’s been 6 days since the surgery and I’ve already taken the cast off. We all know people say you don't see the real results until 6 months to a year pass... but it feels silly when people (and maybe I'm falling into this category too) judge everything just a few days after the procedure or immediately after the cast comes off, saying, "Oh gosh, it doesn't look pretty." I can't even feel my tip yet... it still feels large, and I know it needs time to swell down... but yeah... my follow-up appointment isn't for another 6 weeks.
Feel free to ask anything... and of course, I can send pictures if you want...
Dr. Fauci? Where is he working these days?
Could someone shoot me a DM and walk me through how the whole process works for strictly cosmetic procedures at hospitals? I'm trying to get a handle on what we're looking at in terms of costs and how long the waitlists actually are... I've been thinking about seeing Dr. poj. Is there any real chance they’d turn me away just because I don't have a functional issue like a deviated septum?
dustyeagle27....so, what now? That's really it. When I was seeing Dr. Davis, after looking at the post-op photos, I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I didn't like a single one of them. It felt like... nothing had actually changed. A colleague of mine had her procedure done by Smith, and honestly, her nose looks absolutely perfect.
The hospital? Any kind of answer??? Satisfaction??
Hey everyone...
I’m looking for some insight from anyone who has gone through purely cosmetic surgery at a public hospital (like a municipal center or maybe a big city hospital like Mount Sinai or similar)😁 Specifically, I need help figuring out the actual procedure. Do I just book directly with a surgeon at the hospital, or am I supposed to see my primary care doctor first to get a referral sent over? Honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost. I've read everything online, but there's just so much noise out there... I have a lot to say about it all
Anyway, I'm curious about the costs at these public facilities and how satisfied people actually were with their results😁. I saw someone on a forum complaining that "regular plastic surgeons" get annoyed when people try to bypass the usual channels at public hospitals. Look, if you had a massive pile of cash sitting under your mattress, go for it! But I don't exactly have a hidden treasure chest in my house where I can just pull out a few thousand dollars on a whim... plus all those consultations. I guess it's like they say—if you can't breathe, you can't live; well, I've been unhappy my whole life, so I get it... but hey, if letting you cut in front of me at the clinic means you'll finally be happy, then fine by me.
It really warms my heart to hear from those of you who had successful surgeries and ended up happy with the outcome🙂
Megan Moore76 said:Man, look at that nose! 😍 It’s perfect. Not too narrow, not too dropped, and definitely not overly upturned—it’s just right👍. You really couldn't ask for more. And honestly, seeing what her nose looked like before, I have nothing but respect for the surgeon 🙏
We should all just head over to see Dr Philippe Chout in New York City 😂
By the way, looking at that first link you posted, I don't care for those noses at all. Maybe there wasn't much the doctor could do given that most of them look like difficult cases with obvious deviations🤷. They just look weird to me... some are too upturned, some are too thin, others have such prominent nasal bridges...
Yeah, they aren't exactly my cup of tea either. There's a change, sure, but it's hardly a dream result. To be honest, I haven't seen anyone with a decent-looking nose like the girl in that link... around here, everyone either ends up looking like a cartoon character 👎 or the surgery barely makes any difference at all... does anyone actually know someone whose nose looks like this beautiful girl's in the link?
I think she mentioned this somewhere a while back... I can't quite recall her username, but she posted some photos. Honestly, this poor girl doesn't look anything like Hannibal Lecter... if she actually looks anything like what you see here

It isn't necessarily that the surgeon won't put in the effort... they might try their absolute best, but what if your skin, your tissue, your cartilage... just doesn't heal the way you envisioned? It’s not solely on the doctor; it’s about how your own body responds. I’d love to have perfectly straight, long legs... but I can't make that happen when my bones are short and crooked to begin with. 😂 😂
I honestly don't know. I just know that everyone approaches things differently, and everyone treats their patients differently. For instance, I asked my doctor about nose massages after surgery, and he looked at me like I had just dropped in from outer space. I’ve seen so many cases where people end up touching their Gluscu... it looks like a total disaster to me, but hey, to each their own, I guess. But looking at the photos on his website... OMG.

Looking back at that first video, I actually quite liked how the noses turned out. For the most part, everyone kept their original bridge structure—well, except for those who had wider bridges that were narrowed down. It makes them look much more natural; if someone’s nose leaned slightly to the left before, it still leans to the left now. If one side of the tip was thicker than the other, that asymmetry remains... which feels right. My only real gripe is that the profiles ended up looking identical across the board, regardless of whatever unique face shape they started with... 😁
Another video... the one featuring that girl... 🙏 Honestly, the smartest move she ever made was finally getting that nose job. It’s like everything else just clicked into place—those eyes, her lips... they were always gorgeous, but they were completely overshadowed by that massive nose before. It used to be the first thing anyone noticed about her, but now that her nose actually looks proportional and natural, I don't even register it anymore. My eyes just go straight to her eyes and her smile. Truly stunning... 👍
I'm with you on that... now all anyone can focus on are those perfect lips. Look, I’m no expert, but there’s just no way I’d ever call that art... 🙂Regarding that video, I’m with you... but if you caught a glimpse of the other girl, she’s actually got quite a bit of volume there, and honestly, the result looks incredible compared to how things used to be. It just goes to show that when dealing with thicker skin, it isn't true that you can't get a perfect nose... you just have to put in the actual work. I don't know, my mind just drifts back to high school or middle school. You know that feeling where you study your heart out for an A, but the teacher gives you a B simply because they didn't like your vibe? That's how this feels. It seems to me people just aren't willing to put in the effort anymore. So, what now? Do I just pack my bags and move to New York City, or do I just let someone redo me according to their own specific taste? Otherwise, I'll just end up hitting my head against a wall later, wondering all over again who's actually going to fix my nose...😢.

So, here’s a clip of this girl. Personally, I think she has a really lovely, well-proportioned, natural nose... though I know some people might feel differently about it.😁

I’m struggling to wrap my head around the idea that it’s impossible for things to turn out differently than I envisioned. Sure, there’s always a chance it won't look exactly like the photo I brought him, but saying it’s an absolute impossibility? I just can't go along with that. I’ve seen plenty of examples online where people with thick skin—much like mine—undergo surgery and end up looking like a completely different person with totally transformed skin texture. So, I disagree with his claim that there's zero chance... Okay, if you're asking me about simulations, fine, he can use one to show me his intended approach, but you can't tell me after three separate questions that he isn't willing to work with a simulation. I agree that the result might not be perfect every time—and honestly, I don't know if *he* thinks it can be perfect, but I believe a perfect outcome is possible. Anyway, I’m back to wanting to show you guys a video or a photo of someone whose nose turned out absolutely flawless in my opinion. I know, I know, it feels a bit awkward posting photos on a forum like this, so I’d much rather just send it via email.😉
Hey everyone, hi. I’ve been scrolling through this forum for ages, just soaking up all the photos and videos people post. Honestly, I'm leaning towards getting rhinoplasty—purely cosmetic. I don't have any breathing issues or any of those functional problems people keep bringing up here. But man, the sheer amount of advice floating around is exhausting. It's just constant: "Go see this surgeon," "No, go to that one," "This guy did this for me, but that guy messed up my face." It's just way too much info to process. I recently had a consultation with a specialist, and we talked for a bit, though it felt pretty superficial, if I'm being honest. I asked him to show me a digital mockup or a photo of what the result might look like, but he refused. He claimed he couldn't because you can never truly know the outcome... I mean, I don't really get that. You'd think after doing thousands of surgeries and spending a lifetime studying aesthetics, you'd have a better idea. Then, I showed him a reference photo of a nose I liked, and he basically shut me down. He said there was no way to achieve that look because our skin types are different—apparently, mine is too thick. Personally, I'm not buying it. I've done my homework, and I'm pretty sure his reasoning is flawed. I'd love to share the picture I'm looking at, but I'm not sure 😂... plus, I found some before and after videos of nose jobs online 🙂
