Laura James11 said:I wanted to ask—and I know this has probably been asked a hundred times already—how soon after surgery can I realistically go back out in public? I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere. My procedure is scheduled for October 30th, which is right when my semester starts, and I really can't afford to miss two weeks of classes; that's just too much. :/
Also, seeing as they only have a month's wait in San Francisco, I’m seriously considering switching my plans. Here in Los Angeles, I’ve already been waiting five months, and I still have another five to go. My only real concern is whether the surgeon there would be willing to refine my nose more than the doctor here promised (it's crooked, but my current doctor mentioned he could also narrow the tip).

I had my surgery this past Wednesday—septorhinoplasty and turbinectomy—and I actually made it to a lecture on Friday morning. I suppose I looked pretty rough, to say the least, but I was definitely capable of being there for the whole day.
Lisa Diaz68 said:Hi there, I’m new to the forum. I’m planning on getting rhinoplasty quite soon... I’ve scrolled through quite a few pages on this topic already, but I haven't really come across anyone who specifically dealt with a wide nose. My nose profile is actually perfect at the bridge, but the further down it goes, the wider and broader it seems to get. Since I have a bit of a beard, it’s a major distraction for me. I don't really mind the bump because it's pretty mild, but the width is the issue. The tip is the worst part—it's just too wide and my nostrils feel huge. Does anyone here have experience with narrowing the nasal width or adjusting the nostrils? I’ve been searching Google for photos, but I can't seem to find many American examples specifically focusing on widening issues. If anyone happens to have some insight or information, I would truly appreciate it. My nose shape is most similar to Scarlett Johansson's. Here.
I’d love to see a similar result myself, though I suppose my main concern would be making sure I don't lose my sense of smell to all that plastic.

I find myself in a similar position; I'm actually scheduled for surgery in just a few days.
On average, how long does one typically wait for surgery when going through private providers? I'm curious about the full timeline, starting from that very first consultation all the way through to the actual procedure itself.

I really hope it stays this way!

Did you just fix a deviated septum, or was there some aesthetic work done as well?
I have a question for those who might be more experienced in this than I am. Basically, I have a deviated septum, but I also want to address the aesthetic side of things because my nose is a bit larger than I'd like. Does this mean I’ll be forced to pay separately for both a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty, or can everything be bundled into a single procedure? I really don't have any intention of shelling out 30 $0.00 for a nose job
.
I have a question for those who might know more about this than I do. I’ve been diagnosed with a deviated septum, but I also want to address the aesthetics of my nose since it's a bit larger than I'd like, regardless of the structural issue. Does this mean I’ll be billed separately for both a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty, or can they be bundled into a single procedure? I really don't have any intention of dropping $0.00 30k
on nose surgery.
Does anyone happen to know what the typical cost is for this surgery at a private clinic? I'm also curious about how long the waiting list usually is if I decide to go through one of the public hospitals rather than paying out of pocket.
