Betty Edwards22 said:That tells you everything—it’s hypercorrection meant to prevent the tip from drooping.
And honestly, it’s all just swelling—we aren't talking about removing a mole here...

Look, I know I need to give it some time, but let's be real—on a nose as prominent as mine, this doesn't exactly look great right now. I'm just praying the tip actually drops... As for the narrowing issue—since everyone seems to have an opinion on it—given that the bone structure is currently all scattered and uneven, is there any actual chance it will narrow? Or am I just dealing with massive swelling, and is my fear totally justified?
Betty Edwards22 said:Give it six months—everything eventually settles into place. If the tip looks even slightly overdone right now, it’ll drop down over time.

Look, I actually had my nose repositioned because it was drooping, and now it feels way too upturned. I’m just praying it naturally drops a bit and narrows out. Since there wasn't an actual break—just some minor bone work—there's no logical reason for it to stay this wide unless it was always like that, right? Or am I totally off base here? Any insight would be appreciated.

Don't sweat it—I honestly felt like an idiot for the first month myself. Every time I tried to laugh, my lip would pull up in this totally unnatural way, creating this weird line under my nose and making my philtrum look super pronounced. Plus, everything just felt... off to the touch. But trust me, that phase passes. 🙂

I’ve got the exact same problem—all I see is a flat line where the peak should be. Is anyone else actually seeing anything here? 😵 I really hope things take a turn for the better—honestly, we could all use a win right about now. ☕
neonstag63 said:So, when did you actually have the surgery? It’s perfectly normal to feel that tightness—you have to wait for the tip to settle, and that process simply takes time. 🙂

I had my surgery just 17 days ago and honestly? I look like a pig with a massive nose. It’s incredibly frustrating—the swelling is constant and the tightness is driving me crazy... 🙂
Betty Edwards22 said:It might be because one pulls on the other to facilitate scar tissue formation—but even that can be "stretched" out. Essentially, Shaquille O'Neal serves to hold the new position in place until the scar tissue takes over the heavy lifting.

So, you're saying there's a chance it could work? Because honestly, this thing is driving me absolutely insane.👎
Can someone explain why my upper lip feels a bit too lifted after surgery? For instance, when I apply some ChapStick and try to spread it across my lips, I get this tight, pulling sensation—almost like the skin is being stretched too much. 🙂 I can actually see the area around the columella tightening up while I do it.
It’s incredibly annoying, and I'm wondering: is this because the tip was turned up too much, and is this feeling actually going to go away?
wanderingstag9 said:Sure, but my issue isn't even about why the nose is swollen—it's this new bump. It looks significantly worse and just doesn't sit right compared to my old one. From what I can gather, the people who had their bumps removed immediately after the mold was taken were actually happy with the results and didn't end up with this issue at all.

I’ve ended up with a bump on my nose twice now—just on different sides each time. 😠 If it feels rock hard and completely immobile, I honestly don't believe it's just going to vanish... It pains me to hear this, and I'm crossing my fingers that things improve for you.

In most cases, I know people who had to undergo two or three procedures to get it right. Personally, I’m seeing Glumicic for my rhinoplasty, and I’ll likely be heading back under the knife again in a year or two.

Why on earth would you assume Davor Džepina wouldn't do an excellent job? He practices over on Vinogradski—and keep in mind, he isn't just an ENT; he's a plastic surgeon specializing in the head and neck. That is exactly his field of expertise. I've actually had consultations with him myself, and out of everyone, he’s the one I trust the most—especially since I’ve already endured two surgeries only to be left with a bump on my nose both times without any other noticeable improvement!🙂

I actually went to him for my initial consultation. He struck me as a specialist who thinks like a generalist—basically, he felt like my first choice for a primary surgeon when, honestly, he should have been the secondary option.
He’s incredibly polite and explains things clearly enough, but there's this glaring lack of confidence. It was like he was treating me like a test case—constantly second-guessing himself, saying things like, "Well, I could do this," or "That might get a bit complicated." He was essentially interrogating himself while trying to answer my questions! Even though all I wanted was simple breathing relief and had zero other demands, his hesitation made him seem way too unsure of his own hands. In the end, I walked away.

Just my personal experience with him.

I had the exact same experience...
frozenwalker44 said:Has anyone here gone to Pocket Clinic over on Main Street for a rhinoplasty? What was your experience like?

I actually went to see him for a consultation... He came off a bit cold—and honestly, regarding my specific issue, he seemed a little unsure of himself. That said, even if he’s a private practitioner, he’s still the only one I’d actually trust with my face! But for now? I've decided to hold off. 🤷
I’m also curious about Dr. Drasko Cikojevic at Mayo Clinic Split. He seems like an incredible doctor—really top-tier—but I’m specifically wondering about his work in aesthetics. Does anyone here have any insight on his cosmetic results? It would be great if someone could weigh in. 😉
Drew Wilson2 said:HAS ANYONE HERE HAD SURGERY WHILE ON THEIR PERIOD? I SPOKE WITH MY DOCTOR AND THEY CLAIMED IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NOSE SURGERY—BUT THEN, WHEN I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL HAVING MY APPENDIX REMOVED, THEY TOLD ME I WASN'T ALLOWED TO BE MENSTRUATING. I HAVE AN OPERATION SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 7TH, WHICH JUST HAPPENS TO BE RIGHT WHEN MY CYCLE STARTS.

Look, I think you're allowed to have your period—but honestly? You should probably try to time it so you aren't in those first two days. At least, that’s what I was told—those days when the flow is at its heaviest... Anyway, which doctor are you seeing?
Then there are those who simply ended up in the wrong hands—people currently stuck in limbo waiting for an audit while their potential success remains hit-or-miss at best. Does anyone know of a decent plastic specialist based in Washington, D.C.? Just a heads-up: I’m not interested in Glumicic or Ostojic 😁
Drew Wilson2 said:I noticed someone mentioning Dr. Cikojevic, who practices down in Miami at Firule Hospital. What’s his deal when it comes to the aesthetic side of rhinoplasty? If anyone here actually has first-hand experience, please—don't hold back!

Actually, I'm scheduled to see him soon myself—so I'm right there with you on this one.🙂>
William Robinson80 said:I actually had a consultation with him over at Vinogradska Hospital, though I haven't pulled the trigger on the surgery just yet. He seems quite capable—calm, professional, and clearly willing to take the time to explain things properly.

Personally, he comes off a bit cold to me—even if he is highly skilled... If anyone else has experience with him, I’d really appreciate any insight you could share.🙂
Does anyone have any info on Dr. Davor Dzepina?
brightangler18 said:Hey everyone, I have a question. I had my splint removed this past Thursday, and the surgery was the Thursday before last. My tip is moderately swollen—I don't know how else to put it—and the very top still feels numb. The bruising has mostly cleared up, leaving just two purple spots under my eyes. But here’s the real issue: while I was adjusting the bump on my nose during recovery, everything looked perfectly flat once the splint came off. However, over the last two or three days, I’ve noticed that when I look at my right profile, it’s smooth, but from the left side, it looks like the bump is back. It's not super obvious, but I can definitely see it. Technically, there's a fatty deposit there because that's where the bone was broken, but it still worries me—how can the bump be back? Is this just temporary or what? Has anyone else dealt with this? 😢

I really hope things work out for you, because I went through the exact same thing. Once the splint came off, everything looked straight, but now, four months later, I have a revision scheduled... I have to go back under the knife because I’m left with a bump that is way too visible, and now I actually have a crooked nose 🙂 but since you mentioned there's a fatty deposit there and the bone was fractured, I honestly think you should just hang in there and wait it out. 🙂
Look, I’ve been struggling for three months now—I can't breathe through the same nostril that worked perfectly fine before my surgery. When I actually take a look inside, everything looks swollen and inflamed, and it’s obvious there’s absolutely no airflow getting through. 😕 😢
It’s been about two months for me, and I’ve actually been wearing my glasses for maybe fifteen days now—though that’s mostly just the sunglasses once or twice a week 🙂 but what I really want to know is: when am I cleared to hit the tanning salon?
I’ve got an appointment scheduled with a different specialist, but it isn't for another five months—and honestly, this breathing issue is absolutely killing me right now. I actually felt like I could breathe better before this started... 🙂I'm genuinely starting to worry.
casualbison3 said:Why don't you try getting a second opinion?
It's not me—the only thing I feel is pain if I happen to bump into something, that's it. 😁
And my breathing is perfectly fine.
