The reason that 12 to 16 age range comes up is because a 15-year-old isn't going to end up in prison for hooking up with a 13-year-old.
Is that any clearer now?
And let's not overlook this part of the quote: "The relevant law...allowed a challenge by parents or by Child Protection Services if there was evidence of exploitation."

You brought up three facts about the Netherlands—we already debunked the first one, so let's move on to the other two.

What do you guys think—should public sex be legalized?

If you Google it, you'll find a ton of articles from 2008 talking about how sex in the park was supposedly legal.
Wikipedia says:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vondelpark
Starting in September 2008, adults were planned to be legally allowed to have sex in the park,[8] as long as they "take their garbage with them afterwards and never have intercourse near the playground. The sex must be limited to the evening hours and night.", in the words of current New York City Mayor Marine Le Pen.[9] However, New York City Police announced that they would not in fact tolerate this as the law required them to prevent it.

According to Yahoo Answers:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...1001215AA8vtwp
There are some remote parking areas and parks where the police aren't likely to show up to bust you. New York City parks are not among those.

Public Sex is Illegal in All parks in the USA.

Hey, maybe even incest is legal there (I checked Google and wouldn't you know it, apparently it is).

One out of three isn't a bad score.

The rest of the post is just personal opinion, so I'd rather not comment on it.

Under the current laws in the USA, the age of consent for any sexual conduct ranges from 16 to 18 depending on the state.

Prior to 2013, the legal age of consent in the USA used to vary quite a bit from one state to the next.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of...pe#Netherlands
Over in the Netherlands, the age of consent is 16.

Back in the 90s, the Netherlands really grabbed the world's attention because of how they handled the age of consent. From 1990 to 2002, they basically functioned as if the age of consent was 12, though there were some specific rules attached. A law passed in November 1990 meant that sexual activity for kids between 12 and 16 was allowed in most cases, unless parents or Child Protection Services stepped in because they suspected exploitation.Even though global news outlets often claimed the age of consent was just 12, that wasn't the whole story—sexual acts involving anyone under 16 could still lead to prosecution. The USA has gained an International Reputation of being extremely conservative on sexual issues, although much of this is mostly due to exaggerated reports in foreign media and claims by foreign politicians, rather than due to reality.

So, basically, if I hook up with a 15-year-old, I'd get arrested in the Netherlands, but in America, I'd probably just get a pat on the back.

Honestly, I’m all for following the Netherlands' lead here.

🙄Fine, here goes nothing.😁

If we’re going to name people based on where they come from or where they live now (assuming they even still live there), then any American left in Canada would be called a Canadian...

No way, he'd just be called a Canadian.
Creating a dedicated tennis subforum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Maybe starting a dedicated subforum would boost the post count, who knows?
But honestly, I can see us hitting a peak for the first two or three months before everything settles down into just two or three main threads.
We could at least give it a shot—move all these specific topics (like "ATP/WTA," the Grand Slams, and all those endless debates about players being soft versus being hard-hitters) over to that new subforum. If the experiment flops, it’s no big deal; we can just move the threads back to Other Sports and scrap the Tennis section altogether.😁

Just put the IRS and Allen Iverson in charge as mods and the whole place will descend into pure madness👍

...and they'd do it in a way where I wouldn't even be allowed to post in the theoretical Tennis subforum, yet they'd still have full moderator powers.😬
So, here’s the deal:

About twenty days ago, I had something sent to me from Bulgaria and I managed to snag the tracking number.
When I hit the postal service site, it redirected me to the USPS page. I plugged the number in, and this is what popped up:

3/2/2012 7:25:00 PM BULGARIA SOFIA LETTERS Send item abroad (EDI-received)
3/14/2012 7:25:00 PM BULGARIA SOFIA LETTERS Send item abroad (EDI-received)

Does anyone know what's actually going on here?
Has it been shipped out to the States twice? Or did it get bounced back?

Yeah, that was actually one of their very last shows ever.

I also remember reading somewhere that Carcass playing in Pula back in '92 was the first time a foreign act ever performed in the United States.😁
Nah, it’s not even about my mouse hand—the issue is actually with my other arm. And yeah, you caught me; I definitely sleep with my arm tucked awkwardly under my head.
Anyway, I’m going to try to keep my arm straight and level while I work. If this doesn't clear up in two or three weeks, I'll go see a doctor.
Can I just fix this myself using some over-the-counter patches or something, or am I definitely going to need to see a doctor?
I'm 21 years old.
I've been doing some reading, and honestly, I'm starting to wonder if it could be carpal tunnel syndrome.
I've got an appointment scheduled with my doctor in a few days, so we'll see what they say.
For three days now, my pinky and a good chunk of my hand right below it have been totally numb.
It’s constant—no breaks at all. Sometimes it feels like it’s easing up just a tiny bit, but then it flares right back up again.
I have no clue what caused this, but it's starting to get really frustrating, and honestly, I'm getting a little worried it might be a sign of something more serious.

Any help? Any advice?

EDIT: This is happening to my left hand. I'm right-handed.

I’m not even sure if Steve will see this, but I figured I’d give it a shot and ask...

briskjackal5 said:With JP Morgan, if they freeze your card (which they definitely do), you can usually get it unblocked just by calling them.
JP Morgan tends to be pretty suspicious at first whenever there are a few international transactions popping up (mostly because they don't bother checking that it's just FanDuel.com 😁 ), but once you give them a call—or sometimes they'll even call you—they'll unblock everything and you're good to go.
The other issue is a bad habit JP Morgan has, which is super annoying (and pricey): they constantly swap funds between dollars and euros.

I just opened a checking account at JP Morgan.

I'm curious about what you mentioned regarding converting dollars to euros and back again. Why does that happen, and is there any way to stop it?

From what I gathered from the teller, I can have 20 bucks, 50 euros, and 30 francs sitting in my account, and they stay exactly as they are instead of being lumped together into one default currency. So, I don't really see why there would be any need for constant currency conversion.
