Sorry, I really shouldn't say... but I know for a fact you can get it done in Washington, D.C., or maybe somewhere like Chicago. A friend of mine had her surgery at a major hospital there and everything turned out perfectly..

I was reading somewhere that there’s some kind of non-surgical method out there that’s actually cheaper?

Why wouldn't you be able to? Just get some X-rays done. If you have a deviated septum, you can definitely go through with it. I actually have mine scheduled for January 16th, and I'm planning on doing an aesthetic correction too... just give it a shot.
So the earliest appointment for an evaluation isn't until then? I wonder how long the actual surgery waitlist is after that...

Jacob Ruiz86 said:I actually just scheduled my consultation with Dr. John Doe at Mayo Clinic today, and the first available slot isn't until late January. Though, I suspect he has one of the longest waiting lists there.

On another note, does anyone know if Dr. John Doe would be open to doing some minor nose contouring if he’s already performed a deviated septum repair?
Thanks! I’ll give that a shot..

I have posted about this here quite extensively already. I was operated on by Dr. John Doe at Mayo Clinic, and I am certain that in recent years, he has only been accepting new patients through the spring because his schedule is simply too packed and demand is sky-high. Your best bet is to email them your referral to request a consultation; then you can see what they say. (You might even have to wait until the start of the next calendar year before they begin processing new orders for him—I am not entirely sure how their current scheduling works).
In my case, just like yours, I dealt with a deviated septum and nasal mucosa that was essentially paralyzed from allergies, and he fixed everything. I didn't opt for anything cosmetic since there was no need, but as part of the functional surgery, he also corrects any bumps if necessary (I recall a user on this forum mentioning once that he smoothed out a hump when he went in for his own septum correction).
Good luck 👍
Thanks! Does it usually take forever to get an appointment in NYC?
I’ve been dealing with a mild deviated septum and some nasal mucosal hypertrophy lately, and honestly, I’m stuck wondering if surgery is actually on the table... plus, I really want to address the aesthetics of my nose. There's a prominent hump there that I'd love to fix. I need to book an appointment down in Miami, but I was curious—is it possible to get an exam scheduled right away in Washington, D.C. or maybe Indianapolis instead? Does anyone have any insight on how the scheduling works? thanks
Alex Moore62 said:I haven't spent much time in Indianapolis, so I can't speak to their facilities. However, having undergone two surgeries myself, my advice is quite firm: stick to the public hospital system rather than going private. Specifically, you should look into Bone in NYC.

thanks!!
Greetings!

I've been wanting to get my "nose" operated on for quite some time now because of this massive hump... I have a scan scheduled soon to determine if there's a septal deviation, and if so, I’m going to try to tackle the aesthetic side of things at the same time. I was recommended a hospital in St. Louis, but does anyone here actually have experience with their doctors? I'm honestly torn on whether it's smarter to go private instead..
