Olivia Cooper39 said:Alex Hayes68, I really hope everything turns out okay this time around. Though, honestly, I don't quite wrap my head around how they could perform a revision just nine months after the first one—isn't it common knowledge that the nose doesn't even fully settle for a whole year? In so many cases, the tip doesn't stop looking "wooden" or lose that stiffness until at least twelve months have passed. Who was your surgeon? You can always shoot me a private message if you prefer.

I'm also crossing my fingers that this time it all works out... though, even now, it's strikingly obvious that the profile is much more attractive—narrower and more refined than the initial result.
Before committing to the revision, I actually sought out several different doctors—because why trust just one opinion?—and they all agreed that nine months was sufficient time to go back under the knife... and even the surgeon himself could see that the tip wasn't hitting the mark we had originally envisioned. So, we very easily coordinated a date for a localized tip refinement under sedation.🙂

There’s a distinct lack of logic here—if that swelling hasn't subsided even after eight months, how on earth can you claim everything is suddenly "fixed" after just one week? What makes you think it'll just vanish this time?

I don't really follow your comment?? I actually registered a long time ago...
And I have absolutely no idea who exactly I was supposed to be advertising....🙂
Let’s be honest—these forums are usually just a collection of people nursing negative experiences or folks who haven't even started the process yet and are just fishing for advice...
My doctor didn't give me any specific, concrete reasons as to why I developed that hump or why the tip of my nose stayed so swollen... he just brushed it off by saying it was an incredibly complex surgery and that every single tissue heals and regenerates in its own unique way.
He was actually quite approachable when we finally sat down to discuss the possibility of a revision surgery—which, frankly, was everything to me. For the second procedure, he performed it under enhanced anesthesia, and honestly? It was smooth sailing—absolutely no issues at all...
If I'm being truly vulnerable, my absolute biggest fear wasn't the pain or the recovery—it was the moment I finally got the cast off and had to actually look myself in the mirror....
Hello everyone,
I’ve finally decided to sit down and share my experience regarding nose surgery with you all.
So, here’s the deal—my first rhinoplasty (purely cosmetic, mind you) took place about nine months ago at a private clinic in Washington, D.C. I chose that specific facility primarily because so many girls I know had recommended them—you know how word-of-mouth works in these things. I was quite brave, I suppose—handling all the consultations and ironed out every single surgical detail via email. In fact, I didn't even actually meet the surgeon until the very day the procedure was scheduled to take place.😲.
The surgery itself went perfectly fine—general anesthesia, the whole bit—and I woke up without any significant pain. I was actually able to head home just a few hours later, still sporting the cast and those nasal tampons. I should mention that I didn't experience much bruising or discoloration on my face at all, which was surprising considering I underwent a full reconstruction... we're talking breaking the bone, repositioning everything, smoothing out the hump... the works.
After seven days, once they removed the cast and the tampons, my nose looked absolutely perfect—swollen, sure, but perfect—and I figured I just needed to wait a few months for the swelling to fully subside... but it didn't. Not even after eight months did the swelling at the tip disappear, and a small bump—which appeared later on—started showing its face.
Naturally, I reached out to the original surgeon to express my dissatisfaction, my doubts, my fears, and all my frantic questions; we managed to schedule a revision surgery almost immediately. It’s been just over a week now, and I can honestly say I am extremely happy so far... I’m just waiting for the swelling to completely go down before I can declare that this was "the one." So... there you have it... straight from the horse's mouth.
