If you're stuck using the 2007 version, just put your cursor at the very start of your document, go to Insert, and select Blank Page. That should pop a new page right above your current text. Honestly, you could also just click at the beginning and start typing; everything will naturally push down the page automatically. Since you're likely on the 2007 build, you probably don't have an American English dictionary installed, which is why Word isn't flagging any errors. You really have two choices here: either pay for a Microsoft Office upgrade to get the proper language pack from an authorized Microsoft site, or just head over to this website, paste your text in, and let it highlight your mistakes. Here is the link . Any misspelled words will be marked with a green square, and if you click them, you'll get a menu where you can pick the correct spelling.
So, here’s the situation: I’ve been working on a 14-page paper in Microsoft Word, and I’ve run into two specific issues.
First off, I jumped straight into Chapter I on the very first page, but I actually needed an introduction there. Now I’m stuck wondering how to insert that intro so it sits on page one, while Chapter I starts properly on page two.
The second issue is that the spellcheck isn't catching my mistakes, which I know are there (for example, if I accidentally type Froum instead of Forum). Is there some separate little program I should be using for this, or can I just fix the settings within Word itself? Otherwise, I'm going to have to go through everything manually.
