It is highly probable that at Jasenovac, more people perished from hunger and disease than were executed by hand, yet if you dare to state that publicly, you are immediately branded an Ustase sympathizer or a revisionist—which, let's be honest, isn't always a stretch. Meanwhile, when discussing the crimes and ethnocide committed by the Yugoslav criminals, these factors are treated as mere mitigating circumstances. They just happened to gather them up and hold them in a camp for a few years without food or medical care. "Oh well, they would have died anyway." It’s a convenient way to wash one's hands of the blood.
