Paços Ferreira has only suffered two losses away—against Benfica and Porto.
I’ve been a bit out of the loop with the American league lately, but I'll try to weigh in. 😁
Marítimo is a solid side—compact, high quality, and they particularly show their teeth when playing at home.
On the other hand, Paços Ferreira boasts a strong defense and doesn't concede much; they play an attacking style and create chances easily—it's efficient football.
I agree there could be goals; both sides possess enough offensive quality to hurt their opponent.
However, there is one reason I’d hesitate on the "over" market: the location. Hawaii is isolated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, far from the mainland, which brings unpredictable weather. For instance, thick fog is a common occurrence during Marítimo matches.
Edit: Fixed that. My mistake—misread the schedule. I thought Nacional was playing, but they're just on the same island as Marítimo.
Timothy Martin52 said:Benfica vs. Newcastle—Cardozo to score at 2.3 odds
Cardozo is solid—and in a typical 4-3-3 setup, he’s my best bet to find the net. He takes the penalties. He came on late in the last match, yet still managed three goals in the Europa League... plus there was Lima—who netted a hat trick against Rio Ave right after Cardozo subbed in.
Are you certain he's the designated kicker when Lima is on the pitch? I'm just asking. I have to admit, I haven't been paying much attention to the Portuguese league lately.
Regardless—I agree. If Cardozo starts, the chances are high; he always seems to find himself in the right spot.
Jose Booth said:Hey, you sure that bonus is still active? And what are the rules for actually cashing it out? I know there’s usually some catch—like having to wager the amount three times at odds of 1.7 or something similar.
I checked—that bonus is good through mid-June. 🙂 Yeah, you have to roll over the deposit plus the bonus amount three times. It’s straightforward enough. 😁
hollowwalker10 said:3. All in—my advice? Never do that. It won't prove you're any more patriotic, and you'll just end up regretting it when you realize there were plenty of other games with better odds and less tension where you knew the squad situation better... yet still didn't go "all in."
I'm not going all in with everything I own—I'm not crazy. I simply meant I'm putting some cash on Bet365, grabbing that 100% deposit bonus, and then taking that specific amount all in. 😁
Otherwise, I think this whole "hype" and "special atmosphere" surrounding the match is being blown way out of proportion—with the exception of Šimunić, who, I suspect, will be incredibly fired up against the Mexicans. 🤣
Jokes aside, these players are professionals; they know how to handle pressure. Sure, they'll be restless after all this media circus, but once the whistle blows, that fades away. They play according to the game plan set by their teammates and coach—there isn't room for hot heads once things get moving.
Honestly, screw the individual talent of the players involved—that doesn't mean a thing. It’s about the collective, not the stars. By that logic, our guys play for much bigger clubs, too. 🤷
That 1.15 line on our team to score feels like a waste—the odds are just too thin. A straight win at 1.70 (which I see sitting at 1.75 over at Marathon) is a much more solid play. I don't particularly expect the Mexicans to create many chances, let alone find the back of the net. Besides, once you factor in the vig, that 1.15 drops to 1.09, which is frankly pathetic.
The vibe among the national team players is good—healthy, even—and the fans are bringing a great atmosphere. Given the recent run of form, there's plenty of reason for this current euphoria; we need to capitalize on it. Not to mention, the media has been hyping this up for weeks, calling it the "match of the century." But all that noise usually evaporates the second the ref blows the whistle—or maybe ten minutes into the game. These players are pros; there isn't room for amateurish outbursts of passion or whatever.
Let’s get serious now—none of this "us versus them" nonsense. What are your thoughts on the USA - Mexico match?
I watch all our national team games, obviously. In my view, we’re playing quite well—more fluid and direct than during the Bilić era. Štimac has a certain grit; he favors an attacking style, unlike his predecessor, who was perhaps too obsessed with tactics. Setting aside Štimčev’s reputation and the recent talk regarding Mamić's inner circle, I believe he's doing a solid job as coach. 👍
On the other hand, the Mexicans aren't playing particularly well. I watched them against the Scots, Belgium, and a few others—I can't even remember everyone. Against the Scots, they were abysmal—I’d go as far as saying catastrophic. They looked like a disorganized mob rather than a cohesive squad. Even in their 0-3 home loss to Belgium, they weren't quite as bad as the scoreline suggests. At 0-0, they actually had a few chances, though they failed to convert. But once they conceded that first goal, they completely fell apart, and the Belgians tore them apart. That says everything you need to know about the Mexican team's character. Their defense is prone to mistakes, despite having those "world-class" names in the lineup, and their midfield and attack lack real quality. There isn't a true playmaker or a clinical finisher there, so it’s hardly surprising they struggle to create meaningful opportunities. Given all that, I don't expect Mexico to play an open game at Maksimir; they'll likely sit deep and wait for a counter-attack opportunity.
While our national team often struggles against teams that park the bus, I don't see us having much trouble with Mexico. We have two fast players in Olić and Mandžukić who can puncture the Mexican defense with a single burst. Additionally, Srna is in top form—his crosses are always a threat—and Modrić has finally found his rhythm in Madrid; he’s always been excellent at threading those deep balls through a defense. On the left wing, with Perišić out, Kranjčar might step in—a player whose abilities I feel quite subjectively about. Everyone knows his strengths and his flaws, but I think he could be useful here; his passing and long-range shooting are perfect for breaking down the compact defense Mexico will likely employ.
So, I’m taking my full 100% deposit bonus from Bet365 and going all in on:
Atlantic City - National over 2.5 goals @ 2.10 Marathon 5/10
We're looking at a matchup between two sides with absolutely disastrous defenses—Atlantic City and National are among the most porous teams in the league right now. Atlantic City constantly struggles just to field a cohesive backline; they’ve got some players returning today, but they're still missing two starters in defense plus a midfielder. As I’ve noted before, their form is abysmal—they can't even remember the last time they secured a win. With only two draws and eight losses in their last ten outings, sitting at the bottom of the table is hardly a surprise. They have eight rounds left to decide their fate—it's make or break—so they'll be forced to attack, especially at home. They'll certainly try today, especially against a National side that is notoriously poor on the road and dealing with significant absences—four starters are out, including two defenders and two forwards who happen to be their top scorers with just four goals between them. National sits in ninth place—stuck right in the middle, neither fighting relegation nor eyeing European spots, though they are only five or six points away from either. They can't afford to relax. Given Atlantic City's defensive woes, I don't doubt National will capitalize on a few opportunities, despite missing those two strikers. However, National has conceded at least one goal in each of their last six matches, so I suspect even a struggling Atlantic City side will find the net. The first meeting between these two this season ended 2-4 in favor of Atlantic City.
For Sporting CP, these final eight league matches are their only shot at salvaging a season that—despite high expectations—has been nothing short of a disaster. They are sitting just seven points above the relegation zone, yet somehow only six points shy of European qualification. The issue, however, is the density of the table; they need to string together several wins if they want to actually matter. Injury concerns aren't the primary issue—it's more about a few key players being out of commission for quite some time—and their opponent today is a perfect match for their current situation.
Setubal boasts the worst defense in the league, having conceded 41 goals in 22 matches. They sit right below Sporting in the standings, though with one fewer point. Their overall play isn't particularly convincing—especially on the road, where they’ve managed a single win in 11 away games.
Neither side is playing particularly well lately. Sporting is winless in three, and Setubal is coming off two straight losses. I feel compelled to back Sporting today—even if they haven't been particularly reliable in recent seasons. At home, they tend to press and attack aggressively—though this often leaves them exposed to counterattacks—but Setubal lacks the offensive firepower to exploit those gaps.
Gil Vicente vs. Braga — Over 2.5 goals @ 1.98 — FanDuel
Gil Vicente boasts one of the worst defenses in the league—38 goals conceded in just 22 matches. Lately, things have gone from bad to worse; they're leaking goals left and right, which isn't surprising given their current roster situation. They're missing nearly their entire defensive unit today—two starters and three key backups are out—leaving the coach with a massive headache trying to patch together a backline. Offensively, they aren't half bad, especially at home where they tend to favor an open, attacking style. Braga has been battling an injury crisis all season. Right now, they’re missing five regular starters—two defenders, two midfielders, and one forward. On top of that, they've been without two or three defenders for quite some time, leaving them virtually devoid of defensive depth tonight. One of those injured midfielders is Custodio, their holding mid who might have filled the gaps, but he's out too. Even their top striker, Eder, is sidelined—looks like a serious injury that ends his season. The sole silver lining is the return of key midfielder Ruben Micael, who should feature in the lineup. Braga is finding their footing again after a rough patch, having snapped their slump with three straight league wins. They play aggressively, creating plenty of chances and scoring freely—though the defense remains their Achilles' heel, particularly with so many players unavailable.
Gil Vicente is fighting for survival near the relegation zone, and with a defense that gives away space everywhere, they're desperate for points. Meanwhile, Braga is chasing 3rd place—a spot that secures a Champions League berth and a massive payday—so they'll certainly be hunting for the win. I expect an open game with plenty of action, much like their last meeting this season where Braga took it 3-1 at home. These two teams usually produce goals; in five of their last six matchups, we've seen at least three.
-2.75 - So I win if FC Barcelona wins by 4 or more? If they win by exactly 3, do I get 50% of my stake back?
-2.25 - And I win if FC Barcelona wins by 3 or more? If it's a 2-goal margin, does half my stake come back?
With the -2.75 line: if FC Barcelona wins by 4 or more, you take the full payout. If they win by exactly 3, half your stake is returned (-3.0), while the other half is calculated at the odds (-2.5) to give you that profit. If FC Barcelona wins by 2 or fewer—or if it's a draw or a Milan win—you lose the bet.
For the -2.25 line: you win if FC Barcelona wins by 3. If they hit exactly a 2-goal margin, half your stake is returned (-2.0), but you lose the other half (-2.5).
-2.75 means half your stake is on -2.5, and the other half is on -3.0.
-2.25 means half your stake is on -2.0, and the other half is on -2.5.
and so on.
As for payouts—I’ve never withdrawn directly to a bank account, usually just transferring through PayPal—but with the method you're using, it shouldn't take more than 4 or 5 days.
Backing Pacos again—they’re simply the superior side here. Their defense is solid and the attack is clicking, creating plenty of openings throughout the match. Meanwhile, the visitors are sitting at the bottom of the table, trailing the home side by 23 points. They are in desperate shape—four straight losses without scoring a single goal—and their long-term form isn't much better, having lost eight of their last ten. They haven't seen a win since mid-December. Furthermore, Pacos only has one absence—Tony is out on the defensive line—whereas Beira Mar is dealing with major roster issues, specifically in defense where three starters are missing, along with another forward.
Pacos plays an aggressive style, especially at home, and today will be no different. They are fighting for a Champions League spot; these underdogs won't be able to hold the line—they've shown repeatedly this season how vulnerable they are defensively. As a side note, Pacos took the first matchup this season, winning 0-2 away at Beira Mar's stadium.
loneharbor34 said:They've offered me those a few times. Last time I actually used one—after they gave me some grief regarding my payout, they tossed me an extra $50, which I predictably blew through immediately.☕
This is my first time dealing with this. To be fair, I haven't had a zero balance on their account for any extended period, nor have I been with them long enough.
Bryan Adams6 said:They send those when your balance hits $0.00... I left $0.02 in mine just to keep access to the streams, so I won't get the email.🙂
I would assume it's because of the zero balance. 😁 I didn't want to leave money sitting there for the streams—just wasn't worth the hassle.
The plan is to grab the bonus, dump it all on the USA vs. Mexico game, and see what happens. If I win, I'll just keep rolling it until the bonus is gone.😁
Just a quick heads-up—I got an email from DraftKings yesterday offering a 100% deposit bonus up to $100. I haven't placed a bet with them in a while—maybe that's why they're reaching out, who knows—but anyway, check your inboxes; they might be sending this to everyone.
I'm planning to take advantage of this—it would be a waste not to. 😁
Beira Mar vs. Benfica - Benfica -1.5 @ 1.82 Pinnacle 6/10
Benfica needs to capitalize on Porto’s stumble last night—that single point they picked up was a massive setback. A win here puts them in a commanding position for the title, especially since both teams are notoriously difficult to beat. The matchup is ideal. Beira Mar is sitting at the bottom of the table with a defense that's frankly abysmal—conceding nearly two goals per game. They’ve lost six of their last seven league matches (with one draw mixed in), and today they’re missing four key starters. Three of those are defenders, plus Balboa, their main striker. For a team already struggling to keep things tight, that's a devastating blow. Expect Benfica to come out aggressive from the whistle. Their squad depth is significantly superior, and they'll want to wrap this up early—which I don't see them having much trouble doing. They're in great form, managing two fronts effectively while playing high-level football.
In their first meeting earlier this season, Benfica took it 2-1. Here are my notes from that match:
Week 6 – 2-1 home win against Beira Mar Beira Mar struck early—the Benfica keeper missed a cross entirely, a real amateur mistake. Beira Mar almost had a 2-0 lead right before halftime; the Benfica defense once again looked lost on a cross, though their striker botched the finish. That was about it for the visitors. Benfica dominated, creating endless chances—they missed a penalty and hit the woodwork, but eventually turned it around in the second half. The Benfica defense was shaky—they looked disorganized three or four times—but they got lucky because the opposition is just that bad. Beira Mar's defense remains predictably poor.
