Screen flickering when connecting PC to TV in Computer Peripherals ·
William Nelson52 said:Yeah, I updated everything to the latest drivers and it's still flickering.
I'm starting to think it might be the monitor itself, probably because I'm stuck using that old analog VGA input.
Plus, my refresh rate is capped at 60Hz; there's just no way to push it higher on this thing.

If that's the case, you're probably looking at a GPU issue, since it really shouldn't be flickering like that. 🤷

Well, looks like we're down to the GPU or maybe just a finicky monitor then.

Ever thought about messing around with the drivers to see if that fixes it? ☕

Intel Core i3-2100 2.6GHz
Kingston HyperX DDR3 4GB 1600MHz
MSI P43-c51
NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750GB
500W PSU
Dell UltraSharp 22" wide 1680x1050 60Hz

The rig is about 2 years old, just wondering how much cash I might pull in for the whole setup.
thanks

Around $667!? 🤷

Is there any truth to the idea that higher capacity drives fail faster? I was thinking about grabbing one of those 64GB ones...

Also, what’s the actual deal with 2.0 versus 3.0? How am I supposed to figure out which slot my laptop uses? I'm totally clueless here. 😬

thanks! 🙏

The physical port is exactly the same; it just depends on whether your motherboard supports the higher speeds (like 3.0 vs 2.0), but even if you're stuck with 2.0, it'll still work—you'll just be dealing with slower data transfers.
You can pick them up at basically any big-box retailer... like Best Buy or Target...
And honestly, that whole thing about capacity affecting lifespan is just a total myth...🤷

Nah, the tech guys actually build stuff that works, while the economists are the ones cooking up all these nonsense schemes that eventually end up being shoved down your throat in a fancy presentation.

I don't know about you, but inkjet printers just don't cut it for me. 🙂

That’s why, if you want my two cents, just stay far away from those cheap, low-end models before they get you; your time isn't free, and you might as well keep whatever cash you have left in your pocket.

Laser printers are the only way to go! 😁

Betty Hayes10 said:Yeah, once they start slapping 16 GB or 32 GB labels on them, you really have to wonder about the quality.
I mean, those higher capacity ones definitely exist, but they’ll cost you a lot more at the checkout.

I actually picked up a 4 GB transcendent drive for maybe like five bucks.
It does the job just fine. It even has this little blue light that glows when I plug it into my PC. 😁

And yeah, lifetime storage basically means exactly what you thought it meant.

Saving a couple of bucks isn't worth much if it ends up costing you all your files, which I'm guessing isn't exactly on your bucket list! 🙂
Just grab a USB 3.0 drive—stick with transcendent or Corsair. 🤷

The consensus seems to be just toss the thing in the trash and pick up an Epson + Canon instead. Honestly, that’s the only way to go if you actually want stuff to work.

Did you actually bother checking his settings to see if you added a new ink type?🤷

northerncyclist32 said:I’ve got a laptop here that picks up Wi-Fi just fine, so I know the hardware works, but I’m having a bit of a headache finding the right drivers for Windows 7. I tried downloading some meant for Vista, but they won't install at all. Does anyone happen to know where I can track down the correct ones? Thanks in advance!

Maybe give Windows Update a shot first; if that doesn't do the trick, just send over the chipset ID from the card and we can go from there.

Hi there...

Where exactly are you looking to see if Windows "sees" it or not?😉
Kyle Johnson2 said:While you're sipping on a coffee, maybe try sending the file to someone running Word on macOS and have them save it down as a PC version for you.

And while your coffee is cooling down, take a look at these links to see if they can get you sorted. LINK1 and LINK2

Those links aren't doing much for me, unfortunately; looks like I'll just have to figure this whole thing out myself over another cup of coffee!☕
Hey there!
I grabbed some Word documents off my macOS machine, but now that I'm trying to open them in Word (2007) on Windows, everything looks like total gibberish... just a mess of weird symbols instead of actual text.
Is there some kind of converter out there or maybe a little trick to get this looking right, so everything actually appears the way God intended? 😁
(*.doc is the file extension).

Thanks a ton..☕
