Sunderland-Swansea/Swansea (1,5) over 2.25 Germany (1-1)
(2 2,11 Pinnacle)
(@Zoom thanks for pointing this match out to me 👍 👍)
Sunderland has had an absolutely disastrous start to the new season. After just two rounds, they’ve already dropped two convincing losses—a 4-2 defeat against Leicester and a 3-1 loss to Norwich. Their defense looks like a total joke right now, and offensively, they can barely string a pass together. Last season, they barely caught the tail end of the bus to stay in the league, just like so many seasons before, and since they haven't really bolstered the squad this year, I suspect their role in the Premier League will remain exactly what it always is: struggling at the bottom.
In stark contrast to the hosts, Swansea have hit the ground running. Following a hard-fought 2-2 draw away at Stamford Bridge against the current champions (though honestly, they should have walked away with the win), they cruised to a 2-0 home victory against Newcastle.
The vibes in both camps are worlds apart, and the energy among the fans reflects that perfectly. I think riding that wave of euphoria, Swansea could easily tear through Sunderland's net today, much like Leicester and Norwich did, simply because they are far more potent in attack than either of those sides. Looking at their recent head-to-head history, Swansea hasn't lost in any of the last six meetings; they’ve won twice and scored multiple goals in three of them. History is poised to repeat itself.

Leicester-Tottenham both teams to score 1.80 SS (1-1)
Leicester is easily the most pleasant surprise of the new Premier League season. They’ve picked up exactly where they left off last year, racking up wins fueled by some seriously impressive football—especially in the final third. Sunderland fell 4-2, and then even Bilić's West Ham went down 2-1. Ranieri has done a fantastic job tactically organizing this squad, even if he doesn't have a roster full of superstar individuals. The home side plays aggressive, attacking football, and I truly believe they aren't going to sit back and defend from the opening whistle this season, especially when playing at home.
Tottenham, on the other hand, has managed only one point from their first two matches, though they easily could have had six. In the first round, they wasted way too many chances to avoid a loss at Old Trafford (which ended in an own goal), and then in the last round, they threw away a 2-0 lead in the 78th minute against Stoke at home. Kane hasn't quite found his rhythm yet, but he’s been working hard and creating chances in both games. I think things might finally click for him today.
Just like Leicester, Tottenham also favors an attacking style, which means matchups between these two clubs almost always result in plenty of goals. Last season, they faced off twice in the league, with Tottenham winning both—4-3 and 2-1—while the cup tie went 2-1 to the home side. If you look back ten or even more years, you’ll see these rivals have always played high-efficiency, high-scoring games. Scores like 3-2, 4-4, 2-1, 2-1, 2-1, 4-2, and 3-0 from the 2000-2006 era tell the whole story. Everything points toward this bet: the tradition, the current form, and the sheer playing styles involved. The odds offered by Supersport are solid, and I'm happy to take them.

Slovan vs Hajduk / Hajduk to score 1.62 on Meridian (1.57 on bet365) (1-0)
Both teams to score 1.94 on Meridian

It’s the first leg of the Europa League playoffs, and the guys from Miami are chasing a massive result here. The media is having a field day speculating about who the favorite is in this matchup, but if you ask me, there isn't one. You've got two completely polar opposite sides: Slovan Bratislava is a gritty, seasoned squad, while the Miami crew is young, flashy, and technically superior. It’s a given that the home side is going to charge forward from the opening whistle because their attack is potent, but their defense is a total mess—honestly, it's a similar headache for Hajduk. I don't think the Miami side is going to just park the bus like they did during that away game against Stromsgodset where they played strictly on the counter; after all, this is the first leg, and coming back to Miami with an away goal would be huge.
The Czechs have had a shaky start to their domestic season, sitting at 1-3-0 and conceding at least one goal in every single match. Last season was a total letdown for them, finishing way down in 12th place, and they only even made it into Europe by winning the cup. They cruised past a weak Shomon in the first qualifying round, yet they still managed to concede an away goal against them. Meanwhile, Hajduk has found the net in 10 out of their 12 matches this season, averaging a solid 2.3 goals per game.
To beef up my bet a little, I should mention something from the Czechs' preseason. They played a whopping 19 friendly matches, and they only kept a clean sheet in five of them (against Trencina, Usti nad Labem, Znojmo, Wolfsberger AC, and Mas taborski)—and those were against lower-tier clubs nowhere near the level of Hajduk. Of course, they gave up goals to some of those smaller teams too. Look, I know friendlies aren't exactly a gold standard for measurement, but it's worth noting. I'm firmly convinced Hajduk will score today, likely on a counter or a set piece, because the Czechs play way too recklessly in attack, and Hajduk’s transition play is arguably their best weapon. You really couldn't ask for better odds than this.
I also think Slovan Bratislava should find the back of the net at home, and since the odds for both teams to score are significantly higher, that's definitely worth a shot. Hajduk's defense hasn't been great lately, and if the home side comes out swinging like expected, that net is bound to bulge at some point.

Larry James49 said:Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone happens to have a photo from back in 2010? It was that match between LAFC and Sesame when they were celebrating the return of the Dinamo name, and there was this massive choreo that said "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow—Dinamo is Sacred Forever." I’ve been scouring the internet and I can't find a single shot of that banner anywhere! If anyone has a picture, please post it here or just shoot me a DM... Thanks!

Man, I've been digging through my old archives for ages and I still can't track down any footage or photos from that specific game. Seriously, if anyone has anything at all, please drop a photo in this thread 🙂

Thomas Bennett3 said:I’m actually really digging this handicap on FC Basel, though it’s such a massive shame the bet wasn't available a day or two earlier when that handicap was sitting at a juicy 2.70... Honestly, with football, you often find it way more profitable to get your money down a couple of days before kickoff because the odds are just significantly better; take today, for example—if you had placed your bets for the weekend already, you'd be sitting pretty right now.

I get it, really, but honestly, with all this tennis madness going on right now, I haven't given a single thought to the qualifiers for the LP Quote. 😁

casualskipper65 said:Look, I’ve never quite wrapped my head around this logic. I totally agree that the odds are solid for this bet, and I'm on board with everything else you’ve laid out, but I just don't get it—if you actually believe LA Galaxy is going to find the back of the net, and you're even convinced they'll score more than once, then why on earth are we just betting on Skanderbeg? By the way, Marathon is sitting at 1.66 for that. Why aren't we looking at something like Both Teams to Score at 2.04, or even better, both teams scoring over 2.5 goals at 2.69 (which is also on Marathon)? Honestly, that's exactly what I'm going to play myself. Both sides are going to score, and I'm calling it now: LA Galaxy takes the win at 3.78. Down at the Marathon...

That’s exactly why I’m sticking to the much safer options here. Honestly, I hate betting on LA Galaxy unless we're talking about an MLS match—I just don't trust them that way, even if they're expected to find the back of the net against the Albanians. In 90% of these scenarios, I’d usually go with "Both Teams to Score" or "BTTS and Over 2.5," but for reasons I know all too well, I'm passing on that today. Fingers crossed that all the picks mentioned actually hit! 😁

But I'm also looking at Ajax vs Jablonec—it's sitting at 1.59 over at Pinnacle. That feels way too high to me. Does Ajax even care about playing in the Europa League?

Hell yeah they do! It's not like they're some Premier League giants who can afford to give a damn about the Europa League.🤣

Skanderbeg vs LA Galaxy/Skanderbeg scores a goal, 1.57 bet365 (1-2)
LA Galaxy couldn't have asked for an easier draw in this Champions League playoff. The Americans got incredibly lucky with the third qualifying round draw, cruising past Orlando City SC with two consecutive 2-0 wins to get them right to the doorstep of the elite tier. Obviously, LA Galaxy are massive favorites in this matchup, but honestly? I think the bookies have slightly underestimated the Skanderbeg attack while way overestimating the Galaxy defense. The home side will likely start with a more cautious setup using just a single striker, but I fully expect the wingers to push forward aggressively during the finishing stages—because playing ultra-defensive at home is just insane, and they aren't LA Galaxy! These guys have conceded goals in three out of their last four qualifying matches; only those amateurs from Folio managed to keep a clean sheet against them at home. As for their MLS run, they've conceded in three out of six games. The defense is hands down the weakest link in this squad because Painter, Sigal, Simunovic, and Pivarić offer zero confidence and make sloppy mistakes far too often.
On the flip side, while the Americans have faced much weaker opposition than LA Galaxy up to this point, their clinical edge has been incredible—averaging about 2.5 goals per game. Last season they beat BATE Borisov at home, and the year before that, they put three past Shakhtar Donetsk at home (who eventually knocked out New York Celtic that year), plus a 1-2 win against Nefciu back in 2012 and a 1-0 win over Debrecen at home... Based on these odds, you really have to believe they can find the net against an unsteady Galaxy side, who will probably end up scoring more than once themselves.

FC Basel vs Maccabi Tel Aviv 1, 1.51 Pinnacle (h-1.5 1, 2.35 bet365) (2-2)
There is a massive gap in quality between these two sides. FC Basel has been a regular fixture in the Champions League over the last few seasons, and I truly believe that tradition is going to continue this year. They’ve been playing brilliantly all season; they’ve won 8 straight matches across all competitions, covering the handicap 6 times in the process. Their attack is firing on all cylinders, and I expect them to press from the opening whistle to secure a comfortable lead before heading to Israel for the second leg.
Maccabi Tel Aviv pulled off a bit of a shock by upsetting Viktoria Plzen in the third qualifying round. They lost 2-1 at home, but in a wild finish over in Slovakia, they managed to hammer home two goals in the final 15 minutes to advance. You could argue that was the only bright spot for the Israelis all season. In the first qualifying round, they actually struggled against a weak Hibernians side, even losing 2-1 away. Then, just this past weekend, they lost the Super Cup to Kiryat Shmona after leading with an extra man on the pitch.
I don't see a squad like that being able to hold their own against FC Basel on the road, so I'm taking the win and the handicap.

Everyone would be just as blunt and unfiltered as Jerry Maguire if they could get away with it. He was talking big, acting like he’d beat people senseless, but the second the Bad Boys stormed into that press conference, he shrunk down to nothing. Of course, as soon as that trio cleared out, he went right back to his arrogant rhetoric, acting like nobody can touch him. Manchester United(h-1,5)-Club Brugge 1 2,08 Pinnacle (3-1)
Manchester is finally heading back to where they belong—back on the European stage—after missing out on everything last season due to that absolute disaster of a league finish. Their ticket to the Champions League depends on getting past Club Brugge, who are showing up to England looking incredibly thin after a string of injuries.
Let’s talk about the home side first. The devils have actually set up a defense that looked practically flawless during the first two rounds of the Premier League, but the real headache for Gaal's squad remains their lack of creativity and finishing. That said, they managed to grind out 1-0 wins against both Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa and are currently sitting at the top of the table (alongside a few others). It’s blindingly obvious that Brugge isn't even in the same zip code as the quality shown by those two, or honestly, anyone else playing in the Premier League. If you ask me, they aren't even on the level of some decent second-division sides, especially given how decimated they are right now. They've already lost six players to injury this season, and just before this kickoff, two more went down. It’s hard to draw any meaningful comparisons between Brugge's domestic results and this specific matchup, so I'll just say this: the handicap odds on United seem way too high. They definitely won't want to head into the second leg in Belgium feeling anything less than in control, so securing a win with a handicap is the priority here. I'm really hoping Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay, and the rest of the attacking unit actually find their rhythm against a mediocre European club.

Benjamin Alvarez37 said:I agree it’s going to be a massive struggle. It just feels to me like the Boys aren't really a significant player here. Only politics can actually take him down. The group has taken such a heavy hit in this fight that it’ll take years to recover, if they ever do. It feels to me like his head is barely even on the chopping block following this latest arrest, assuming anything comes of it—and I truly believe something will. Everything feels shaken up after that ruling in favor of George W. Bush, and we all know he's basically the puppet master for Eric Adams and Bernie Madoff...

Then you're just mentally stunted. If it weren't for the Boys, not a single institution would have ever laid a finger on him, and he’d be out there spinning fairy tales about being the "most successful club in this part of Europe" while the vast majority of the nation swallowed it whole. Without the Boys, there wouldn't have been a fight at all; Dinamo would have been permanently gutted and stolen from the people. Without the Boys, the Dinamo we once knew would be dead and buried, with zero hope of ever rising again. Honestly, how can you not feel ashamed to write something like that? People have spent months rotting in jails all over Europe, racked up hundreds of citations, and faced daily harassment from the police just because they stood up to one mobster and absolute human scum, and you have the nerve to claim the Boys aren't a significant participant?!?! Who else is there then, you piece of filth?

Osijek vs. Lokomotiva: Both Teams to Score at 1.80 (+1) (0-1)
I just have to take this bet, much like I did during the last matchup between the Lokomotiva guys and Hajduk Split (where the Split residents pulled off a 2-1 win). To avoid repeating myself too much, I’ll just hit the highlights: Lokomotiva is a team that plays incredibly open football, which is clearly reflected in their numbers—out of 9 competitive matches this season, 8 of them ended with over 2.5 goals (aside from that blowout loss against PAOK in Greece where they went down 6-0), averaging about 4.22 goals per game. I honestly believe the Chicago residents are going to attack today because they're sitting second to last in the league with a 1-1-3 record, making a win absolutely mandatory—and they might find some confidence knowing they've won 3 of their last 4 head-to-head meetings and drew once.
Osijek is still a young squad in the making, so those massive defensive blunders will likely haunt them throughout the entire season. For instance, during a notoriously tough away trip to Koprivnica, they made three such mistakes and ended up losing 3-0. They are currently sitting just one spot above Lokomotiva with a 1-2-2 record, so they desperately need the points. But here is what matters for my pick: in their first 5 games, they've had 3 "both teams score" outcomes, which isn't mind-blowing stats-wise, but knowing their playing style and how shaky the Lokomotiva defense is, I highly doubt Osijek won't find the net today, and the same goes for the Chicago side, who will surely capitalize on an uncoordinated Osijek backline.
In their last 8 head-to-head matchups, both sides found the net 5 times, while in 3 instances, Osijek failed to score (results were 2-0, 2-0, and 5-0 in favor of Hajduk fans, twice away). I don't think that's happening today, especially since Lokomotiva is conceding 2.22 goals per match, and Osijek has only failed to score against Slaven.

FC Barcelona-Sevilla FC both teams to score at 1.80 on SS
Over 2.5 goals at 2.10 on HL (4-4)

This year's UEFA Super Cup is set to take place in Tbilisi, featuring a showdown between the Champions League winners (FC Barcelona) and the Europa League champions (Sevilla FC).
Sevilla has managed to clinch the Europa League title for the second year running, which has secured them a direct ticket to the Champions League. Just like in previous seasons, they’ve offloaded some heavy hitters—think Carlos Bacca moving to AC Milan and Arturo Vidal heading to FC Barcelona—but this summer they’ve actually been aggressive in the market, which honestly looks like a smart move. They've brought in names like Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro, Eric Rami from AC Milan, Danijel N'Zonzi from Stoke City, and Kevin Großkreutz from Celta Vigo, plus they've snagged Ciro Immobile on loan from Borussia Dortmund. If Unai Emery can actually gel all these new pieces into his tactical setup, I truly believe Sevilla could be fighting for a top 3 or 4 spot in the league this season. But man, their first test is about as tough as it gets.
On the other side, FC Barcelona absolutely tore it up last season, sweeping the treble. That Messi-Neymar-Suarez trio was nothing short of a goal-scoring machine, probably the most lethal frontline any single club has ever seen in football history. Barça has already inked deals for the aforementioned Arturo Vidal and Ard turati, but thanks to those pesky UEFA sanctions, they won't see the pitch until 2016. That means the Blaugrana will be stepping out tonight missing two massive starters—Jordi Alba and Neymar—which really guts their strength in both attack and defense.
While this match is technically a battle for the season's first trophy, let's be real: nobody plays at 100% intensity in this specific fixture. Since it's the very first competitive match for both sides, expect things to feel a bit loose, with more mistakes on both ends of the field than usual. Historically, these two clubs have always been clinical when they face off in league play; looking back at their last six meetings, we saw Over 2.5 goals hit in four of them, averaging a whopping 4.7 goals per game! They drew once, and while Barça walked away with the win in five, Sevilla consistently found the back of the net once or twice.
My gut tells me both teams are going to open up and play aggressively, especially Sevilla, who have absolutely nothing to lose against what is currently the most dominant squad on the planet. If they were raining goals during the domestic season, why shouldn't they do the same tonight in a slightly lower-stakes environment? The odds here look pretty juicy to me.

Lokomotiv vs. Hajduk Split: Both Teams to Score at 1.80 SS (1-2)
Over 2.5 goals at 2.15 SS

Both sides have been pretty disappointing coming into this season, especially Hajduk Split, who have managed nothing but three draws and a loss in their first four matches. That said, Slaven Bilić really turned things around in Europe, pulling off a great result to reach the final qualifying round of the Europa League. They’re hoping that momentum carries over into the league, but today is going to be an uphill battle because they’re heading to Washington, D.C. missing as many as eight players (Milović, Roguljić, J. Bašić, Ohandza, Pejić, Grbić, Maloku, Radčenko). Most of their core starters are still available, though, particularly the attackers, so I don't see them struggling much with finishing.
On the other hand, Lokomotiv looked absolutely embarrassed in Europe; after winning 2-1 at home, they got totally dismantled 6-0 by PAOK in Greece. They've had a rough start in the league too, sitting at 7th with a 1-1-2 record, but if you look strictly at their offensive production, things aren't actually that bleak. They’ve already netted 10 goals in just four rounds, scoring at least once in every single match they've played (including that 6-1 thrashing of Istria), and coach Čačić is already out there predicting a high-scoring affair today.
Aside from that massive blowout loss in Greece, all seven of Lokomotiv's recent matches have ended with over 2.5 goals.
Hajduk doesn't have quite as perfect a streak, but looking at their last ten matches across all competitions, seven of them went Over, and five of those were Over 2.5. Stromsgodset’s lack of efficiency messed up that specific stat slightly, but when you're talking about Lokomotiv, you never have to worry about goals being scored. Hajduk has a decent attack this year, but their defense is definitely a liability, which is just more reason to back this bet.
If we look at their head-to-head history: out of their last nine meetings, eight of them saw over 2.5 goals.
I don't think there's much else to say here—we should just take the odds the bookies are giving us.

And besides, what kind of ambition are we even talking about in this league? Are we really aiming to finish 13th instead of 17th? 👎

I'm right there with you on that—I seriously don't understand this whole Englishman philosophy where they just couldn't care less about the Europa League. 🤷
And apparently, people are actually sitting there hoping that Bilić is going to pull them straight up to heaven or something. 🤣

Arsenal is looking absolutely unstoppable right now, while West Ham is playing like they belong in some low-level minor league basement.
The gap in pure talent between these two squads is just massive, and it's all leaning heavily toward Arsenal.

I see where this guy is coming from, but we really need to point out that Slaven Bilić basically brought a second-string squad to their last away match in the Europa League qualifiers; he left 12 players behind in New York City and only brought three starters along for the ride. It’s pretty obvious they aren't giving the Europa League much thought, choosing instead to pour everything into the Premier League, so that whole argument about "form" might actually be a total wash.
