Metformin experiences and side effects in Health ·
I have no idea what this stuff is—it was just one pill. Honestly, I’m not feeling any nausea at all, which is weird considering I just ate a full meal.

As far as I can tell, I am not taking this.

I used to take a box of Glucophage from Pfizer, but for some reason, they can't get it in stock right now, so I ended up with Glucophage instead. With the old stuff, I didn't deal with any side effects—in fact, I actually wondered why I was even bothering with it since nothing seemed to change. Unbelievable!

Hey everyone. I’m joining the fray—I was prescribed some Glucophage recently and decided to give it a shot. After just one pill, I was hit with an unbearable headache by the afternoon, and it didn't let up the next day—talk about a brutal migraine.

I've stopped taking it until I can figure out my next move. I've been struggling with insulin issues and weight management for most of my life—likely the fallout from endless yo-yo dieting and other nonsense. Now, as the years pass, I'm seeing the toll it's taken on my health; I'm dealing with metabolic issues and just want to reset everything, though we all know that's impossible.

If there are any women out there fighting the same battles—looking to focus on fitness, weight loss, and general health—please shoot me a DM.

Also, a quick question—is this a normal reaction to Glucophage? Should I just power through it or look for a different medication? Between the headaches and the complete loss of taste and appetite signals—I ended up eating twice as much as usual because I felt absolutely nothing—neither hunger nor fullness. TERRIFYING. I polished off 400 grams of chocolate without even blinking, and I don't even feel sick yet.

Honestly, even looking at half that box makes me nauseous. What is the deal with this Glucophage?
I didn't technically "test" the Glucophage—I just got worked up, and whenever I get stressed, I turn to chocolate. So, I thought I'd have just a little, and then I ended up devouring the whole box.
I know exactly what you're going through, so I'll leave this here.

My loved one passed away at home too—there just wasn't an option to keep them in the hospital long-term, and that was that. You just have to deal with it. We had a home health nurse who checked in occasionally, and we actually paid her extra to come by more often. That was the extent of it.

The oncologist at the Tumor Institute drained that fluid from the abdomen with a needle—he literally told another patient to get up, told my loved one to lie down so he could do it, and then they were headed home. There weren't any spare beds for extra patients, but hey, the doctor did everything he could. Try reaching out to the oncologist and asking if someone can do the same; that abdominal fluid buildup creates terrible pressure, and it can be drained with a needle.

Honestly, you need to find a way to find some peace within yourself—otherwise, you're just adding stress to your mom.

I know it sounds unbelievable, but you'll recognize it when the day approaches. She will know, and you will know; it all becomes clear. I can't explain how right now, but trust me, you won't miss it or be caught unaware. A friend told me the same thing when I was terrified it would happen while I was stuck at work, and she was right.

A few days before passing, a person starts "exploring" the other side—they begin to lose consciousness for an hour, two, or three, and then they "wake up" normally. It feels like they are sleeping, but they are actually exploring. Once those days start happening, count on them passing within a week at most.

Accept it. Do what you can, manage her pain with patches, and pray. She isn't expecting anything from you—not even for you to hold her hand—just a goodbye and for you to let her go. Accept that this is the cycle of life; love and presence are the only things she needs.

@Charles Gomez4, thanks for the tip about Poshmark—solid idea! Honestly, what I grabbed from the Nordstrom Rack outlet was a total disaster, but someone mentioned the non-outlet stuff is actually decent... plus, on Poshmark, you could potentially see things in person if you find a local seller!

@Mark Bishop2, thanks—had no clue about Ann Taylor, but yeah, that would be perfect for office wear. Hopefully they have my size 🙂

I used to find decent stuff at Gap—maybe a nice blouse or something... they definitely have those massive sizes, like their denim line, but honestly, it’s more "weekend errands" than "professional office attire"...

I snagged an amazing winter jacket at H&M—long, puffer style, really cozy—but I had to hunt it down online because the physical stores were a bust... people say the outlet near WestGate carries plus sizes, but when I made a special trip there about a year and a half ago, the selection was pathetic—just a few stray pieces left over from some old clearance rack, nothing that actually made sense together...

You can find larger sizes at Kmart, sure, but the quality is always a gamble... For me, a size 12 or 14 is basically my limit, and I need to go bigger than that... I'm looking for quality that actually holds up for a few seasons—I've finally decided to drop my prejudices against Old Navy...

Anything else? Maybe Target?

Hey everyone! Where can I pick up plus-size clothing here in the city—and please, don't suggest Ulla Pompken. In my opinion, it’s overpriced and just plain tacky.

It used to be easy to find those little boutiques scattered around town, but now? It feels like they’ve all vanished into thin air.

Mango doesn't carry larger sizes in-store—it's online-only. I tried ordering from them and was beyond disappointed; the fabric is paper-thin and practically see-through. To top it off, I had to shell out about $10 in shipping just to send it back. The sizing is all over the place too—either huge or way too big—and honestly, the quality of the stuff they ship out seems much worse than what you see on the racks in their physical stores.

Where can I find decent office wear that I can actually try on in person before buying?
