This HP bundle is driving me insane—the GPU has been sitting in Washington, D.C. since yesterday, but now they’re claiming I requested a delivery change🤦 Hopefully it shows up tomorrow...

I've got a modular CoolerMaster PSU that's over 15 years old—back then, the 6-pin was king, and it came with one 8-pin plus three 6-pins.

Anyway, I would've lost my mind and just gone picked it up myself😁

Look, I already ran a 620W unit before. This one is Platinum and also carries that 120-month—basically 10-year—warranty. It's brutal. I personally stick to power supplies that last at least that long.

And I'm not dropping huge cash just for some weak 650W setup or an Nvidia 12 v connector. For me, this 860W was just a "whatever, why not" kind of buy.🙂

It's a solid mid-range card—price seems fair for the current market, too. Plus, those transverse cooler fins look pretty slick, whereas the longitudinal ones are absolute garbage.

But as far as I know, charging 25% for the US is correct—it happens where they switch the tax from 19% to 25% at the final step... probably checking your card origin, IP, or whatever else...

Look, I have a massive grudge against NVIDIA right now because the software I use keeps hitting VRAM limits and crashing—doesn't matter if it's a 4GB or 24GB card, the Blackmagic forums are full of people dealing with this. This RX 550 4 g I'm using as a temporary placeholder can render anything—it's slow, sure, but it gets it done—whereas my Quadro T600 throws a "GPU memory full" error every single time. It basically makes finishing a project impossible.

Plus, the RTX 3060 has some memory leaks that mess with professional software—I ran into that myself while working on an outside gig...

So you still haven't picked anything up?

I almost snagged a 6750XT, but it vanished right before my eyes while I was checking out. Since a 6800 is way too expensive, and my long-standing personal "code" 😁 won't let me settle for a 6750XT or anything lower, I ended up dropping down to the 6800XT.

Over here, pricing is a mess and stock is non-existent. You just get these shop websites claiming they have stuff when the warehouses have been empty for ages.

I'm honestly losing my mind today—can't find a decent monitor or a GPU to save my life. I couldn't care less about next month; these people are absolute geniuses. They already bumped up my AC rates for 2023 (and at a ridiculous premium), but that wasn't even my main concern.

Looks like I'll be shopping overseas instead. I'm sure as hell not giving my money to these clowns! Let them try to sell their junk after the holidays...

I get it, thanks. There's a similar Gigabyte model at a lower price point—but I'm sticking with IPS. I've already done the deep dive on this, and I'm definitely going for the higher-end option, which would be the 27GP850...
