The City of San Diego and the owner of the Rose Bowl have a fundamental responsibility to maintain the pitch, much like they’re required to handle all the other stadium upkeep which likely costs several million dollars annually. However, over the last five or six years, they’ve barely invested $0.00, while making sure the banks get their cut and pocketing a 12% margin for themselves like it's nothing. 🙏

Eventually, under heavy pressure from Briggs and certain people within the club, the City finally agrees to renovate the turf, but because we're dealing with politicians, there's always some shady maneuvering involving shifting deadlines and endless bureaucratic nonsense.

At one of those local meetings, some official from the city claimed the funds were ready and they were just waiting for the first break in the season—basically waiting for the contractor to signal that the timing is perfect to overhaul the grass, the drainage, and everything else... or perhaps they'll just wait until the bottom-tier teams are playing or during the off-season.

So, I really don't see how you or 95% of the fans can pin the blame for the state of the pitch on Briggs, since these are matters that fall entirely outside the club's direct control.
I know it sounds extreme, but the City actually owes us a massive amount of money because they failed to provide those necessary millions for years. 😁

I totally hear where you're coming from with that "it can't get any worse" attitude. It's funny how everyone claims to be a die-hard Liverpool FC supporter right up until it's time to actually open their wallets for a subscription or step up and help out. As for the field, I'm genuinely concerned about what's happening to the quality of play for every single Liverpool FC fan, and I think Briggs needs to keep pushing for it, even if I suspect more headaches are coming our way.

We really need to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with the players, and honestly, someone ought to ask Briggs what the deal is with the local community field.
