Rhinoplasty: Experiences and recovery tips?
in Health ·
Hi everyone.
I wanted to share my experience here. I underwent rhinoplasty with Dr. Glumicic about three weeks ago.
My profile was honestly a disaster; I had a very prominent hump. While it looked okay from the front, the side view was just terrible.
Essentially, I told him exactly what I wanted. I didn't want that overly artificial, "cookie-cutter" upturned look; I just wanted him to smooth out the hump, narrow the tip, and give it a slight lift. The surgery itself went smoothly—it really isn't as traumatic as people make it out to be. He’s a charming guy, very personable, and everything seemed fine initially.
However, after six days, I had the cast removed. At first, I was in total shock because the nose didn't look right at all. Suddenly, I had this small, pretty, straight nose, which I actually grew to like quite quickly. But then, after wearing those medical tapes for two days and finally taking them off, the swelling started. It was incredibly obvious 😢 and it seems to be getting worse. It's been three weeks now, and the nose looks nothing like that cute little thing I saw right after the cast came off.
I've been wearing 😢 for a while now, but the shape is starting to resemble my old nose more than the new one. It's awful. Has anyone else dealt with this?
I went back for a follow-up last week, and he just told me this is perfectly normal—that it's just swelling that will eventually subside and that I simply need to
be patient. I don't understand how this is considered "normal." This current shape bears almost no resemblance to how it looked immediately after the cast was removed 😢 Has anyone else had a similar experience?
