Which PC should I get? in Desktops ·
Hey everyone... So, here's the deal. I just scored an NVIDIA GTX 1060 8gb as a gift—sweet, right? Anyway, I finally landed a job and just got my first paycheck, but let's be real, my budget is pretty tight. I've found two different PCs that don't have a GPU, and I'm trying to decide which one to grab. With the first option, I wouldn't change a single thing, but with the second one, I’d probably pick up a used Intel Core i3-7100 to pair with it—that fits, doesn't it? I know there's gonna be some serious bottlenecking involved. So, which setup is going to give me better performance and less headache? I could eventually swap in a Ryzen 5 1600x on the second build in a few months since that's already in my sights. But with the first one, I'd have to overhaul the motherboard, the RAM, and obviously the CPU. Honestly, the second PC seems like the cheaper way to go.
First PC:
CPU = Intel Core i7
Motherboard = MSI Gaming Motherboard Aura
RAM = 8GB 2x4
HDD 1TB
PSU = 500W

Second PC:
CPU = Intel Pentium (though I'd actually use an Intel Core i3-7100)
Motherboard = ASUS A320
RAM = 8GB 2x4 DDR4 2666MHz
SSD, HDD...
PSU = Corsair 400W PSU

Which of these two is actually worth my money? And which one is going to have the smaller bottleneck? Oh, and one more thing—is that power supply in the second build actually okay for my card? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey there... Got a quick question for you guys. I know this might be slightly off-topic for this sub, but I’m a bit lost and could really use some help here. So, right now I'm running a Radeon HD 6670, but I've got my eye on an RX 570 upgrade. The thing is, I keep hearing people say it all depends on whether the card actually fits the motherboard slot. I think I finally tracked down my motherboard model—can anyone tell me if this is going to work?
ASRock FM2A75M-DGS
I'm currently rocking a Radeon HD 6670 GDDR5 with 1GB of VRAM.
Thanks a ton in advance!

Hey everyone... I need a little bit of intel here. My current plan is to grab a new CPU, but honestly? I'm stuck. Right now, my top-tier setup is basically just an Intel Core i5-7600K—well, if you can even call it that at this point. I have no clue if I should be looking at a new motherboard or if I can actually squeeze more life out of what I've already got. Or maybe I'm just dreaming? Anyway, here’s the breakdown of my current rig:

Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75M-DGS
CPU: AMD A8-5600K APU 3.6GHz 4-core
GPU: Radeon HD 6670 GDDR5 1GB VRAM
RAM: 12GB RAM

Once I finally get the processor sorted, the next move is a new graphics card—maybe an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or something in that ballpark.
Thanks in advance for the help! 🙂
