The more I read through these recent posts, the more I find myself losing faith in Glusac too... you guys are totally rubbing your skepticism off on me 🙂
Don't be like that, seriously, aaaahhh 🙂
You meanies 😉
I've never even heard of Klapan, but honestly, from what I can see here, this looks pretty decent 😁
Kate Taylor59 said:I mean, I'm totally with them, you just head over to the cosmetic procedures section, then scroll down 🙂

Everything there looks great, honestly, but I always end up on this one specific page and it doesn't even show noses 🙄

Kate Taylor59 said:So yeah, I’m still totally torn between Glusac and Tončić... Honestly, Tončić does noses way prettier, I just checked out a thread... and they really are more my style, especially since they have front-facing photos, which is super important to me...
I noticed he specialized in otolaryngology too, so that’s definitely a huge plus 👍
The only thing that's got me a little spooked is reading about some girls having issues with anesthesia, apparently they all felt it 😕🤷

Wait, which thread did you find Tončić's front-view results on? Because everything I've come across so far has just been profile shots...
Sophia Hill22 said:they don't always do a great job because some of them are basically bribable—I don't want to generalize, but it’s pretty widespread... if you don't "reward" them, they just do a half-assed job. That’s actually why I had to go back for a revision, and I didn't want to gamble with it, so I went to a private specialist instead.
everything is transparent there because they actually try to get it right the first time so they don't have to deal with a complaint later
thank god I didn't even try the hospital route 😢

the truth is, there are plenty of amazing doctors working in hospitals, but man, they usually end up working privately too because they're in such high demand... so now you gotta guess, do they give you better care at the hospital or in their own private clinic?

Exactly. It's the golden rule: PAY UP SO YOU CAN COMPLAIN LATER 😁
Jamie Kern8 said:hey there
I’ve been lurking and reading through your posts for a while now... but honestly, there are just way too many to keep up with everything... so I figured I’d just jump in and ask, and if anyone has the time or feels like answering, thanks so much in advance. 🙂
I was wondering how you actually pay for the surgery, like, at a place like Mayo Clinic or maybe a private clinic in NYC? If it’s strictly cosmetic, do you just wire it to some account or what?
Also, has anyone here actually been to Mayo or one of those big city hospitals for an OP recently? And I gotta ask—why does it seem like everyone is heading to private surgeons instead? Is the waitlist at the public hospitals just insane or something?
thx

Some people are so miserable with their noses they want to go under the knife twice, so they do the primary rhinoplasty at a public hospital and then go private for the secondary fix 😂
A little sarcasm never hurts 😉
Don't even bother, better to just save up your cash and go private from the start
Most of them are basically just ENT specialists, so if you just need things to work functionally, sure, fine... but trying to get aesthetic results from them is like asking a construction worker to draw up blueprints instead of hiring an architect
amberbadger81 said:Ugh, I totally feel you on that... It’s exactly the same for me. I have Glusac at the top of my list too, but then you spend hours reading all these glowing, perfect reviews, only to have some random person jump in and say they had a nightmare experience! It honestly makes you spiral... like, what if it happens to me? What if things don't go right? But honestly, I guess that’s just how it goes with any doctor, right? No one is actually perfect... even the best ones. For me, though, it isn't even about the medical stuff like it is for you—it's purely aesthetic. And god, I am constantly second-guessing myself! I have a consultation scheduled for late April, so I'll just have to wait and see how that goes...

Honestly, you just gotta keep your expectations grounded. I’ve been noticing this thing lately... it’s really the unrealistic expectations that end up crushing people, more than anything the doctors actually do...
casualgardener21 said:But like, what about when winter hits? When it gets freezing cold outside, do you actually feel the pain even five years later? I heard that’s one thing that just sticks with you forever, no matter how much time passes since the surgery...

Honestly, if it means hurting for the rest of my life, I still wouldn't let that stop me from getting it done once and for all 😍
Kate Taylor59 said:hahahah just kidding, I honestly felt like joining in on the joke too... 🤣
it’s not like Morning star actually got a nose job

Hahahah Morning star is an absolute queen, seriously 😂
...it's just such a bummer she didn't post a pic of her boobs too haha
That’s just what happens when you accidentally take out one of your own citizens, but hey, at least God is giving you a little smile 😉
...for velvetangler17

Crispin Glover
Richard Armitrage

😍

Man, I just love how different everyone's taste is. Honestly, I could see both of them working for me.
...which basically leads me to realize that even with my whole vibe, someone out there might actually dig me, hahaha...
Maria Bishop3, how much did that surgery end up costing you?
Kate Taylor59 said:😕 honestly, he was the perfect candidate for surgery if you ask me

And if you ask me, everyone with those little quirks just needs one solid reality check and to be kicked out for good. 👍
Maria Bishop3 said:Hey everyone on the Forum, especially those dealing with similar stuff (well, things I used to deal with) like a messed up nose, a deviated septum, and all that...

I spent years doing Kickbox, and my nose basically took a beating with constant breaks and injuries. It totally changed how I look—think eagle nose, high bridge, bumpy, and crooked from the front like an S shape. Plus, breathing through my right nostril was nearly impossible, and the left side was a struggle too. Like any athlete, I kind of just looked at my nose with this detached vibe, not letting it get to me too much, but eventually, I just knew I had to go under the knife...

I spent forever digging around, gathering info on surgical techniques, what the recovery is actually like, and looking for decent cosmetic surgeons in Germany or back home in the States, because honestly, it never crossed my mind to just roll the dice on some random hack calling themselves a plastic surgeon nowadays...
For example, in Germany, a lot of cosmetic surgeons can’t even handle the functional side of things and have to call in an ENT specialist. That’s fine if they’re pros and totally upfront about it, but man, a lot of them aren't...
A ton of them couldn't give me straight answers, and they didn't exactly inspire confidence or show real expertise. I started feeling more and more like I was playing Russian roulette, so I expanded my search to include specialists in the States since I really respect the experts over here who actually know their stuff...

After a long time of searching the web, it became crystal clear: heading to Makarska to see Smith.

Mr. Dr. Smith is just an amazing person—a total expert and a pro, but above all, he’s a grounded guy and a realist, even though his skill level puts him way above most surgeons I've met, and trust me, I've met plenty...

From the organization itself—like having a driver pick me up from the airport, getting the Hotel booked, all the way to the consultation—I was just blown away. The driver was such a sweetheart; since it was my first time in the area, he told me so much about the history and kept me posted on everything going on in the country. The Hotel was awesome, right in the heart of Makarska (just a 5-minute walk from the clinic), the staff was super polite and professional, and the food? Top tier...

That evening, Mr. Dr. Smith actually came to pick me up in his own car, and after our consultation, he drove me back to the Hotel. During the consult, Mr. Dr. Smith answered every single one of my questions with insane detail and managed to spot things that the specialists in Munich didn't even mention (like a specific muscle pulling my nose downward, and how the left side was actually worse)

The next morning (Sunday), even though Mr. Dr. Smith says he's a total night owl, he still came to get me personally and drove me to the clinic to get me ready for surgery. His team—which is so kind, fun, and professional—welcomed me so warmly that I actually started the whole process in a great mood...

The Anesthesiologist on Dr. Smith's team was a complete pro; he walked me through every stage of the anesthesia before gently "turning out the lights"...
After about an hour and 40 minutes, the surgery was done, and I was moved to the recovery room.
Once I came to, Dr. Smith showed me everything he had removed from my nose (the bump and other bits 🙂 ) and then personally drove me back to the Hotel.
The lovely Doctor's team even gave me a bag on my way out with a cheese Burek and yogurt, so I could just chill in my room and recover without having to worry about food for the rest of the day...

Over the following days, Dr. Smith was so incredibly caring. We even managed to build a nice human connection where I got to hear all sorts of stories about his life and his work abroad. He kept coming by to pick me up and drive me for my dressing changes, explaining how to care for my nose once I got home, and walking me through the details of the surgery again...

They took my packing out just one day after the surgery, so I was able to sleep pretty comfortably during the rest of my stay...
Regarding the actual work on the nose, I gotta say: the hump is totally gone, there's some slight tearing at the tip and base, and the nose looks shorter now.
To get that specific look, they actually had to break the nose on four sides, but honestly, even just 10 days out from the procedure, almost all the signs of surgery are basically invisible...

I didn't feel any pain at all, really... just a little bit of pressure while those sponges were inside my nose, but luckily they weren't in there for very long.
At the end of everything, the ride back was also organized by Dr. Smith, and his super nice driver dropped me right off in the city...

What else can I even say? Just a huge thank you to Mr. Dr. Smith... and seriously, I am beyond thrilled with the results, especially since I got to meet such an amazing expert and just a genuinely cool guy.

For anyone thinking stuff like, "The guy is from Germany, he definitely made a killing off this patient," well, I hate to disappoint you, but the price was totally fair... it’s clearly posted right there on the wall in the office. And I should mention that Dr. Smith didn't charge me for the exams, the consultation, or any of the supplies he gave me for the trip (pills, tapes, creams, oils, drops), nor for the transport... even the Hotel was 10% cheaper because Dr. Smith booked it for me.

I'm a totally transparent person, even though I hold a high-level position back in Germany, and I'm standing by my experience—I have nothing to hide. If you guys have questions, I'm here for you, but instead of me writing forever, just look at the results and see for yourself...

P.S. please ignore any typos, living abroad for 14 years definitely takes its toll on my grammar...🙂

Best,

Your nose looks awesome, major props to Smith! I'm counting down the days until my consultation in 7 months and my surgery at the end of summer 😁
rustygardener172 said:Totally down, just send me those pics 🙂 once they're all finished up 😁

So yeah, we're all set then 😉
And man, that outfit you're wearing is killer... seriously, praise Glušac🙂
loneridge3 said:Yeah, she told me the exact same thing... ugh, seriously, you can't always have everything you want... 😢

I totally get that. Honestly, if I'm being real, the breathing part isn't even my main concern—it's more about how it looks. I'm mostly doing this because that little bump on my nose really bugs me. I mean, that deviation... how do I even put this... I've kind of just learned to live with it, which is definitely not true for my scoliosis... ☕
Donna Watson80 said:Where'd you even get that info... that he's breathing worse than before? Seriously...😁

I gotta hear it straight from you... I need to know the real deal firsthand... 😉
velvetangler17 said:So, my surgery ended up being about 2,000 bucks, but I’m actually gonna stay at his place in the apartment since I’m not from Washington, D.C., you know? Honestly, though, I’m really happy with Glumičić... at least when it comes to the consultation part. We just totally clicked right away, simple as that. When are you thinking of pulling the trigger? And yeah... I have no clue about payment plans, but you should definitely just talk to them directly about that. pozzzzzzz

Žanamari Lalić didn't do a good job. I mean, looks okay, sure, but functionally? Not at all. Breathing feels worse than it did before...
rustygardener172 said:You don't strictly have to, but it’s definitely a good idea 😁 I actually headed down to Makarska for some checkups myself, so maybe try cleaning out your nose too...

Would you mind sharing those photos if it's not too much trouble? Thanks so much in advance 🙏
Sandra Anderson61 said:Hey,

thanks so much for being so incredibly thorough with all the info... maybe you don't hang out on this forum as much as you used to, but hey, I'll try my luck, hopefully you see this and reply...
So, now that some time has actually passed, how's your nose looking? Really hoping you're happy with the results. Honestly, I'm seriously considering going under the knife with Dr. Glušac too, mostly because I saw a few of his before-and-afters and they looked amazing...
If you wouldn't mind sending me a photo of your nose after the surgery via DM, I would be so grateful...
PS. ugh, I swear I look like Miss Piggy right now :-(

Can I get some pics too, pleeease? 🙂
Anyway, I'm planning on seeing Glušac toward the end of summer... it just doesn't make sense to do everything at once, especially since I'm already scheduled for a boob job around Easter.
He calls himself the "King of Rhinoplasty," so I am really, really crossing my fingers that he lives up to the title when it comes to my face... 😉
