You get the first installment, then you’re stuck digging up payment records for your tax contributions over the last three months, then the second comes, then the third... depending on what they actually approve. Honestly, I don't know a single person who got paid in one lump sum.
So looks like you ended up getting your money split into three parts 🙂
How long did it take from when you filed the claim until that first check actually hit your bank?
Anyone got the scoop on this: that one-time lump sum grant for starting your own business.
How does the whole thing actually work? Like, what’s the play-by-play? Do I hit up the unemployment office first and just tell them, "Hey, I'm gonna launch my own LLC, just give me the full payout right now"?
One-time lump sum grant
An unemployed individual eligible for benefits may, upon request, receive their benefit as a single lump sum payment based on their total eligibility period, specifically for:
– launching a sole proprietorship or an independent business,
– getting hired at a corporation where they hold no more than a 25% stake,
– incorporating a business and taking a position within it.
cosmic sailor 63, thanks for getting back to me 🙂
I gotta admit, this whole "separate facility" thing has my head spinning. So, what you're saying is I can designate one specific "site"—basically where I actually do the work—and call it a day? Does it really not matter if my official business registration address is different from where I’m actually running things under a lease agreement? Because, honestly, how am I even supposed to sign a lease before the LLC is officially set up? My landlord would probably just look at me like, "Where's your corporate seal?" It's just such a ridiculous setup...
One more thing though... logically, when you first open a business checking account, it's sitting at zero, right? Like, to actually get moving and buy stuff—office chairs, a laptop, whatever—you've gotta pump some cash in via a transfer or a loan. Let's say $3.25. How does the IRS view that? That doesn't count toward those tax thresholds or whatever legal limit people are always tripping over, does it?
Best,
Hey there
Quick question for the group...
Can I register my small business under NAICS 541519 (Other Computer Information Technology Services)?
Or maybe 541513 (Computer Facilities Management Services)?
Also, I’m a little tripped up by this phrase about how a sole proprietor can't have a "separate business location." Basically, if I register my business at an address where I actually own the property, but then I end up doing all the actual work at a different spot because I'm renting it through a lease agreement... is that allowed? Or am I overthinking the legalities here?
One more thing—I think there might be some kind of tax break or fee waiver for veterans when they start a business, but honestly, I can't quite put my finger on what it is. 😁
Thanks!
I haven't seen any posts from you yet! Just a heads up, I'm here whenever you want to chat or vent about whatever's on your mind. No pressure though. Just hanging out. kaže:
Look, if you’re trying to buy stuff on installments, yeah, you’re gonna need a revolving line of credit or whatever. But honestly? If you’re planning on pulling cash out of an ATM just to go on a massive shopping spree using those monthly payment plans... man, just don't even bother getting the card. Seriously. Save yourself the headache. You'll have way fewer problems in life if you just skip that whole mess entirely. 😉
I'm with you on this one. Seriously, stay far away from credit cards. Honestly, picking up any kind of card feels like you're just walking straight toward an event horizon. Once you cross that line, there’s no turning back.

man, I gotta say, I'm kind of feeling the same way...
