The Fast and the Furious franchise in Movies ·
It’d be sick if they did a Fast & Furious movie featuring Diesel engines and those massive bridge jumps—that’s just how the rules work. Honestly, I can't find a better film than that. Peace.
I dig the parts where they're running for their lives. Like when they're being chased down. Zakoon.
The girls are great in those too.
It would be pretty solid if they filmed one with semi-trucks.
How many truly great TV series have ever been made?
Maybe fifty at most. Anyone can rattle off a hundred brilliant movies without breaking a sweat, but trying to name a hundred legendary shows? Impossible.
Sure, you could stretch the list if you’re easily impressed by endless procedurals about American cops, lawyers, forensic experts, or firefighters🙏, not to mention politicians and presidents, ad infinitum.
A question for the binge-watchers out there.
Why isn't there a show—or maybe I just haven't seen it—that celebrates the heroic work of American sanitation workers or municipal crews from NY, Boston, or LA? These guys are basically unsung warriors for peace and democracy. Beyond just being selfless, they possess a level of grit and intelligence that rivals any firefighter or crime scene investigator.
It’s high time someone fixed this massive oversight.
Nicholas Watson said:I mean, just look at *Zodiac*. It’s honestly tough to find another police procedural that hits quite that hard. Maybe *Serpico* comes close, but honestly, nothing else really jumps to mind immediately.

Across 110th Street, for example.
Kenneth Johnson12 said:Still waiting for someone to put together a list of about ten films so I actually have something worth watching. People keep mentioning great series in this thread, but nobody ever suggests specific movies unless they’re talking trash about them. I realize there are other threads for this, but I am specifically looking for top-tier recent films that match the quality of elite shows like GoT or Homeland. 🍿

There’s this place called Asia. If that feels too far away, try somewhere closer, like Europe.
There's this thing called Google. You type stuff in, it spits stuff out, and then you find what you're looking for. If you're under 16, sure, that works. But if you're older... 😵
Why does everyone seem to prefer series over movies these days?
1. Because they’re shorter and you don't actually have to use your brain much.
2. Because the good guys beat the bad guys in the US and bring eternal bliss, freedom, peace, and democracy to the whole damn world (and beyond).
3. They clearly haven't seen Futurama or Breaking bad...
4. Because that's just not true—everyone still loves movies more.
5. The Bishop said so, so that's how it is.
The Criterion Collection in Movies ·
I’m backing the recommendations for Diabolique and Samurai Rebellion, though I have to wonder what drives people to tackle The human Condition... I look at the runtime and I just want to take a nap. 😁

The human Condition is easily the greatest film trilogy in the history of art.
Not even The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars can touch Masaki Kobayashi.
By the way Star Wars was basically inspired by The Hidden Fortress.

Nice work on this thread.

Honestly, the Criterion Collection thread deserves a sticky.
