Honestly, I feel like I’m constantly reading about those little lumps and bumps that seem to show up for everyone after surgery... then I saw a post from rustygardener172, and I was just thinking, maybe there's at least one person out there who actually had a perfect recovery, but now... now even she's dealing with more "imperfections" than expected 😢

It’s just devastating... I'm feeling so discouraged right now.. 😢
Linda Wilson82 said:Well, I’m twelve days out from surgery myself... still dealing with some swelling, though it's finally starting to subside, and the nasal congestion seems to be easing up every single day 😍.
The one thing that’s really getting to me, though... the area where they had to break the bridge feels so wide on both sides of my nose... My doctor mentioned it'll smooth out and that it's perfectly normal, just that it needs time to settle 😢... has anyone else dealt with this? When does it actually go away? >?? Maybe you would know, since you mentioned yours looked similar to mine after your procedure??? please????

Linda Wilson82, what kind of nose did you have exactly that required a bridge break?
No, no, I didn't say that his silence was a negative thing for him in my eyes... I’m just saying I feel bad that he didn't get back to me. I'm honestly just curious about what he would have said... Anyway, I'm planning to head in for a consultation around mid-June, but I suppose I'll just have to be patient until then 😉
Angela Morales69 said:I actually messaged him and sent some photos too... he just told me my nose was too bulbous and didn't really fit my face profile 😂 . I think once things settle down—probably after the summer—I'll make the trip down to Miami for a consultation.

I sent Glusac some photos via email about two weeks ago and haven't heard back yet... I know he's incredibly busy and honestly seems a bit scattered 😂 but I'm still dying to know what his take would be... it feels a little silly to follow up with another email, because if he actually had the time, he surely would have replied by now... 🤷>
I'd love to see a picture too! 🙂
Linda Wilson82 said:functionality and aesthetics for 2,000 dollars...

Man, first I read it was 9 or 10 thousand dollars, then they said 12, and now suddenly it’s 14 at the end😲 😢 and all I have is 12... 😢
By the way, does the whole thing have to be paid upfront, or...?
darkhawk10 said:That’s great, I’m honestly so happy for you. If you don't mind, could you let me know how much the whole thing ran you? Maybe just send me a private message if you'd prefer... best wishes! 👍

Linda Wilson82, would you mind posting the surgery cost here publicly? It might be helpful for others down the road... just so people know what to expect. 😉
Linda Wilson82 said:I really think he would respect what you're asking for... I told him myself that I have no interest in having a crooked nose, and his reaction was completely normal... He definitely listens to what the patient wants... You'll see how my nose looks just a few days after the surgery, so maybe seeing that will help you make up your mind. I'm feeling very optimistic about this whole thing, and given my luck... well, I won't even go there... 😂

So, when is your surgery scheduled? This Friday?
I'll be crossing my fingers for you and I honestly can't wait to hear how everything goes!
Linda Wilson82 said:The consultation lasted about an hour and a half... he suggested what steps we should take and asked me what my actual goals were. He showed me quite a few photos of his previous patients, too... it definitely builds a sense of trust.

Like I mentioned on the earlier pages... I really don't want a hooked nose. I just don't think it would suit me... and I notice that Dr. Glusac mostly performs those kinds of procedures... so I'm wondering what you think... do you believe he'd actually respect my request for a straighter profile, or would he try to mold it more according to his own vision? I don't know... maybe the man just hasn't had much practice with straight noses, which is why he keeps doing the same thing over and over...
rustygardener172 said:hahhahaha it's such a small world 😁 Maybe we actually have met before...
Let's chat in the PMs...

I'm not originally from San Diego, I'm just here for university, but who knows, maybe our paths really did cross somewhere 😉
think about it and let me know 🙂
rustygardener172 said:stormyharbor2 would probably be better at explaining this to you... she's still down in Miami. You should just shoot her a private message... she's a really great person, I'm sure she'll help out as much as she possibly can...
I ended up crashing at a friend's place nearby... and once he helped me take out my tampon the next morning, I just headed back to San Diego... I've been traveling back and forth every few days for my checkups...

I'm down, thanks... 🙂
I'm from San Diego too... 🙂 I know this might sound a bit silly, but would you be up for grabbing a coffee sometime? I’d love to just sit down and hear your take on everything firsthand... I've been overthinking this whole move for ages now, but honestly, I keep hearing such conflicting stories from everyone else that my head is spinning... You probably know exactly how I feel, it's likely felt pretty similar for you too...
I don't actually have any breathing issues, so my procedure is going to be purely aesthetic at this point...
I know I’m being a bit of a nuisance, but just one more thing—what kind of extra costs should I expect after the surgery? I assume they wouldn't just send you home right away, that they probably have some sort of recovery suite where you stay for a day or two or something like that... especially since I'm not from Miami so...
rustygardener172 said:He’s just built that way 😁
And honestly, I’ve seen at least two of his perfectly straight noses thanks to some of the girls here on the forum. He actually asked me if he could get a nose like mine because he thinks it would suit him... and well, I said yes.
Sending photos over now...

thanks!! 🙂
Your nose looks amazing! That slight upturn really suits you... 🙂 though, to be honest, your old nose didn't look bad at all from the profile view.. maybe it just needed a little touch-up from the front.. but seriously, it looks beautiful now, totally natural. I would never have guessed anything was done to it 🙂
Just one more thing.. if you don't mind me asking, how much did the surgery cost? I'm thinking about checking with Dr. Glusac myself, and I know every procedure is different in terms of complexity, but just for a rough idea...
rustygardener172 said:Yeah, that's just how he is 😁 We’ve touched on this before... Some people aren't fans of his bedside manner, but honestly, I actually liked it. If you’re looking for some rigid, strictly professional doctor-patient dynamic, you won't find it with him... to me, it felt like we had known each other for decades 😁 He loves talking about himself and his own accomplishments, but as long as everything he says is true, it doesn't bother me much 😁

P.S. I didn't mean anything by it. I only laughed at your post because I "know" what he's like 😁

Personally, I prefer that kind of vibe over a cold, clinical relationship 🙂
I've been reading through the last 25 pages, but all those different doctors and their varying opinions have started to blur together a bit...
Anyway, rustygardener172, from what I can gather, you had your rhinoplasty done by Dr. Glusac... I feel a little awkward even asking, but would you be willing to share some photos of your nose? Because looking at his website, most of the noses he works on seem a bit upturned, sort of pinched in the middle with a bow shape... and I really wouldn't want mine to look like that, I'd much rather have a naturally straight profile...
rustygardener172 said:hahahhahahah honestly, you guys are weird... always looking at the downside. Didn't it occur to you that he might be the only one actually willing to reply to an email sent at 3 AM on a weekend?! You're even more out of it than he is 😂

I wasn't trying to be negative, I was just wondering if this is his usual way of being
it really caught me off guard how fast he got back to me, which was actually such a pleasant surprise
I guess I'm just not used to seeing people act like that, so I wanted to see if any of you had similar experiences with him
Linda Wilson82 said:Honestly everyone, after spending two whole days scouring forums, scrolling through websites, looking at photos and all that... I think I've finally decided on Dr. Glusac. I actually went in for a consultation and even if he does talk about himself a little too much, I really feel like he’s the right choice... there's just something about him that builds trust, and he seems very grounded. To be honest, I have this oooooogrooooooman hooked nose and I am just so ready to finally deal with it. I'm calling him tomorrow to set up an appointment, so I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes...😁

So, I sent him an email around 3 AM last night asking if I could just send over some photos first—you know, so he could tell me what's possible without me having to drive all the way down to Miami—and he replied to me this morning saying: I am preparing for 2 nose surgeries (both functional and aesthetic procedures) even though it is Sunday. Please send the photos ... and so on.
I mean, what kind of opening line is that? That tone immediately put me off... Is he always like this, or...?
Guys, I’ve just finished reading through the last 25 pages of this thread and honestly... my brain is fried. I really can't handle scrolling back through everything just to ask what will probably be the hundredth version of this question, but please bear with me...
Does anyone here actually have first-hand experience with the Barbel clinic and Dr. Kinčl?
