Wait, seriously? You dealt with that too? 😁
I actually had one myself! It was exactly where you described—right at the bridge of my nose, between the eyes. It felt hard as a bone, too; I couldn't move it at all. It’s still a little tender, if I'm being honest, but the swelling is definitely starting to go down.
Rachel Fisher97 said:Way to go, little guy!👍 😍
^^ Thanks. Well, if that's how it's going to be.
Honestly, I think steelangler88 is losing it a little. Please, just stop obsessing over your nose! It’s actually great—it’s the perfect size and looks beautiful, I swear on my life. I know how your mind is working right now, but seriously, there is absolutely no reason for this. Forget about any other surgery; just drop it. You’ll just end up becoming addicted to these procedures... trust me, your nose isn't going to look any better after a third one. All you'll get is a new tiny detail to stress out about, and you'll still never feel satisfied. Just stop staring at it and call it a day. It really is lovely and definitely not too big. I actually went through this exact surgery myself because I wanted to fix a nose that looked totally crooked, but I wasn't looking for a tiny button nose. And thank God I didn't get one! After my procedure, I got a bit obsessed thinking it was too big (you know, the whole "I wish it were smaller" loop), but now I’m starting to see that it’s not huge, nor is it tiny—it’s just a normal nose, and it’s exactly what it should be. We are who we are, and no amount of surgery is ever going to give us that impossible ideal. Everyone chases perfection, but let me tell you, perfection doesn't exist. One single procedure is more than enough for most people to enhance their features, and that’s the whole point of surgery, not to achieve some impossible, flawless standard. (Unless there are rare medical exceptions—I actually had to go in a second time due to an accident). Besides, it's not like our entire existence revolves around the damn nose on our faces and everyone is just staring at it. Go do something else with your brains, haha, and stop letting this consume you.
Just so you know, after my own surgery, my nose isn't 100% perfectly straight, and while it is slightly smaller, it isn't "small." It's just normal. It doesn't have to be breathtakingly beautiful. It doesn't have to be. I've finally learned to accept it for what it is.

The bridge of my nose, that upper section, has settled beautifully, though the tip is still carrying a little bit of swelling. Overall, I feel so much better and I am absolutely thrilled with how everything looks. My skin isn't quite back to its prime yet, but I’m hopeful it’ll improve; plus, while my nose is currently a bit of a magnet for blackheads, at least the skin isn't peeling away anymore. My one real worry right now is these yellowish bruises under my eyes. They just won't budge! It feels like I have these permanent, massive dark circles, and it's been two weeks of looking like this. How long did you all deal with those? Did anyone find any specific creams or treatments to help speed up the process?
I’ve been taking B vitamins for my skin, hair, and nails, and while I definitely notice a difference there, they haven't done a thing for these yellow patches under my eyes...
Just rub some margarine or butter under your eyes and see what happens...
steelangler88 said:Nobody ever mentioned anything about drainage to me either... how does that even work, anyway? And who actually handles that part of the process?
steelangler88, quit whining—your nose is perfectly fine just the way it is.
Honestly, I haven't heard a single word about drainage from anyone else either...
As far as those little bumps go, I have this area right between my eyes following my surgery. I had it before, but it wasn't really visible—you could only feel it if you ran your finger over it, you know? It was subtle. But now... well, it's there. It’s a bit firm and honestly kind of tender, though I’m hoping it eventually just smooths out on its own. If it doesn't, I swear, I'm going back to the surgeon and telling them to level it out, or else I might just lose my cool and 😠...
rustygardener172 said:Maria Hall92...you and I were actually chatting via DM earlier. But I’m just now realizing how much of a mess your nose was from the front view! Honestly, though, the doctor did such a fantastic job fixing it. It looks just like your old nose, only straighter, which was exactly what you were going for. As for the scarring... I’ll tell you what WW always says: wear it with pride! Let people see it—it’s just part of your unique look! 👍
Thanks, haha! 😁 Yeah, he really did smooth out my profile perfectly 😁 lol. And honestly? I've already made peace with the scars. For me, the shape of the nose was the bigger issue. 🙂 But hey, it turned out great... besides, our noses aren't the only thing on our faces! Seriously guys, if you'd all just stop obsessively studying every little detail of yourselves, you'd probably be a lot happier. 🙂)))
Hey Ashley Gomez and Kate Taylor59, you guys have such incredible style! Seriously, major props to you both! XD
Elizabeth Collins5 said:Maria Hall92, that new nose of yours looks absolutely lovely 🙂. You mentioned it isn't small, but if you ask me, I’d say it’s actually just the perfect size 😉
.
As for my own new nose—it might not be tiny, but at least it looks perfectly straight from the profile view, 😂.
Thanks 🙂... though, I have this feeling that in photos it looks smaller, but once you see how it sits on the whole face, it seems a bit more prominent... I don't know
.
Actually, you know what? Whatever you say! As long as the profile is right, I'm happy 😁.
Sophia Booth35 said:Maria Hall92, you totally nailed that "edit"!
It’s not that my nose is small, but since the photos are all different sizes, maybe that's just how it's coming across.
Thanks! 🙂 ..Honestly, compared to mine, yours is practically tiny. I still have this nagging feeling that my nose looks bigger in person than it does in pictures, but everyone tells me I'm just being crazy... I guess that perception is just stuck in my head now... hopefully!😛
Alright, here’s a little look at my nose too...
This is what the old nose looked like from the side, profile view

And this is my sad, crooked nose from the front—showing it both with the bump and without 😁 honestly, you can't even tell which version is worse 🙂))

Now, here is the new nose from the front
http://a2.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/i...e419a64e/l.png The photo quality isn't great, but you can see it's straight now and the bump is gone... (you might need to lean back from your screen to really see it, haha)
And here's the profile shot

The first photo was taken the day they removed the cast, the last one is from about a week ago, and the middle one is somewhere in between. It’s been nearly a month since the surgery, and I’m really happy with it! Even though I loved how it looked most on the day the cast came off—since that old bump from my accident popped up a bit again afterward—overall, it turned out great 🙂)... It’s not tiny, but it looks perfectly normal 🙂) weeeeee

Ladies, here is my old nose.
It’s not that you couldn't find me in real life if you really wanted to, but I just can't bring myself to post a full face shot on a forum. My head is tilted slightly in the photo, anyway. Plus, if I posted a clear shot, people would immediately notice from my facial features—specifically my lips—that my nose had been crooked before.
Basically, the bone was off by a few millimeters, there were two bumps making it look wider, and the tip had that bulbous, potato-like shape.
Now, the new one:

The bone is straight, those bumps are smoothed out, and the tip is smaller. When you straighten the bone, the nose tends to look longer automatically, so to prevent it from drooping over my lip, we shortened it just a tiny bit.
The main issue right now—which is supposedly just temporary—is my nostrils. You can see it in the last photo. One sits higher than the other. I have to wait for the stitches to dissolve so the higher nostril can relax and settle. Honestly, the asymmetry looks way more obvious in the photo than it does in person; I have no idea why that is.
If things don't settle down within 12 months, I’m heading back into surgery. But I'll be seeing a different doctor, of course.
Everyone keeps telling me not to get ahead of myself, so I’m going to try to be patient.
To be perfectly clear, I actually think this nose looks much prettier than my old one.
And since I'm still quite swollen, my doctor mentioned that the nose should eventually look even narrower.
Starting Thursday, I'm beginning lymphatic drainage massage; apparently, that helps speed up the whole recovery process.
Your nose looks amazing!! 🙂 Your little "button" nose is so cute, and yeah, definitely don't rush to judgment. Everything is so incredibly fresh right now and you can clearly tell there's still swelling... it will all settle into place eventually.😉))
Sophia Booth35 said:I actually went to see him. And for the record, my nose isn't small. He told me straight away that it wouldn't end up being tiny because my face is "too large" and round.
I’m going to post some photos tomorrow—both old ones and the recent ones. Though, as Glumičić pointed out, this isn't even what the final result will look like yet. I'm still not quite satisfied myself, but at least we'll be able to track my "different stages."
As for his expertise regarding breathing or anything like that? I won't weigh in there. I don't have any experience with it, nor did I bother asking about it.
It's not like I want a tiny nose... but I definitely don't want a giant bulbous thing sitting on my face either. It would be nice if it were just a bit smaller, but honestly, it's too early to tell since the swelling hasn't gone down yet...
Look, the main thing is that your nose looks proportional. Mine used to be all crooked and uneven from everything, but now it's about 90% straight, and that honestly means the world to me. People always seem to want more and more—well, at least I do. It's never enough!😁 lol
Kate Taylor59 said:Today, my sister and I finally took the cast off together... honestly, I'm speechless. We were both just tearing up from pure joy. It is absolutely incredible how amazing it looks. After all the hurdles I faced during my surgery—it was such a struggle, my whole nose felt like it was going through a marathon—seeing it look this natural and beautiful is just overwhelming. And my sister? She’s an absolute rock star...
I don't even know how to put it into words... the doctor is truly one of a kind. He is so incredibly skilled, gentle, and attentive. He walks you through every single step, and he's just such a wonderful, personable guy. Even though he works tirelessly from sunrise to sunset, he still manages to stay so upbeat and full of energy....
DAVID DOE RULES 🙂 anyone who trusts him is genuinely lucky...
Oh, and by the way... I can breathe like a freaking DRAGON! If you want more details, just shoot me a private message... I won't be following this thread much longer after this.
Huge congratulations!! 😁 😁 👍 !!!! 🤣
Sarah Myers21 said:Thanks! Listen, there’s one thing weighing heavily on my mind—plastic surgeons don't really offer any kind of guarantee. Like, what happens if things don't turn out quite right or I end up with some unexpected irregularities? What's my assurance that the same doctor will actually help me fix it, rather than just hitting me with a massive bill for a "revision" surgery? Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a surgeon out there who actually stands by their work with a guarantee?
When I spoke with Thomas, he was incredibly upfront about it. He told me straight out that if anything popped up after the procedure—like an unexpected lump or if my profile wasn't exactly what we planned—they would step in and fix it at their own expense. It felt very honest and reassuring.
Rachel Fisher97 said:It’s honestly pretty bizarre how it works sometimes—one person gets tied up in all this drama while someone else stays completely untouched. It’s like watching a game of musical chairs where the music stops for everyone except one person, and you're left wondering how they managed to slip through the cracks. 😁 Look, you’re absolutely right—the most important thing is that I take some time to unwind and just let everything else fade away. Honestly, if it were up to me, I’d much rather be lost in my own little world than constantly glued to the news, stressing over every single update. Sometimes you just have to tune out the noise to stay sane. 😁
Let’s be clear here—I'm not looking to get involved in anything that feels like some sort of medieval torture device. I'm really not. 😁 Haha! It’s like having your hands threaded through a bunch of spaghetti that’s just loosely tied together—you know, just in case you have a sudden moment of clarity amidst all the chaos and need to grab something to stop your hand from wandering off where it shouldn't! 🙂
Ashley Gomez said:I finally took the mold off today, and I can already see this cute, tiny, perfectly shaped little nose! 🙂🙂
I realize it’s still early days and things are bound to shift, but honestly, seeing this result just five days after surgery feels absolutely amazing. 😍
😍 Oh my gosh, congratulations! 😁 "!!!!!!! It’s only going to get more beautiful from here, but the most important thing is that it already looks SMALL 😁 !!!
Rachel Fisher97 said:Well, it’s gotta be fine, especially since Tončić has officially retired from the game😁 I could just kill him, haha!😁
Just kidding, obviously... though honestly, what do I know? It’s just one of those things that makes me a bit anxious. A friend was telling me about his own experience when he had surgery under local anesthesia; apparently, there was a moment where his pulse started feeling a little weak, almost like it was pulsing in irregular skips because it was speeding up too much. His anesthesiologist had to give him another dose of that magic stuff through the IV to steady things out, and then everything went back to a slow, rhythmic pace.🙂 So, I guess I was just worrying if my own heartbeat might skip a beat like that.😍
Don't you worry about Tončić
he knows exactly what he's doing, he's a pro at his job🙂)😉
Kate Taylor59 said:I just have to say... this whole recovery process isn't nearly as smooth as some people make it sound...
You really need nerves of steel and an incredible amount of patience. I’m currently on this heavy-duty antibiotic that is absolutely wreaking havoc on my stomach, and my throat is killing me because I’ve had to breathe through my mouth. Sleep? Forget about it. My head feels like it's under constant pressure from those nasal packs, and for the first two days, my nose felt incredibly strange—which, looking back, was actually just blood soaking through the packing...
It’s tough... you really have to be prepared for all of this...
Hmm... honestly, my experience wasn't even remotely like that. I didn't feel any pain at all. Sure, the nasal packing made me a little anxious and gave me some head pressure, but I didn't end up taking a single painkiller... I actually slept like a baby, which is a miracle because I'm a dedicated stomach sleeper. I have no idea how I managed to sleep so well (maybe it was breathing through my mouth?), but my throat didn't bother me one bit. Just make sure you drink tons and tons of fluids...
I'm so sorry you're going through such a rough time. Hang in there just a little longer :/ things will get better every single day... and hey, look at the bright side, girl. Who cares about the struggle? You're going to have a beautiful new nose! 😁😁 😁
Emily Martinez12 said:Girls, I need some advice... I’m weighing two options for my surgery. I can either go through with it in late July or early August, or wait until the winter semester during finals week, which would be around early February.
I know going during the winter might be better since the cooler weather helps keep swelling down compared to dealing with a brutal 100-degree heatwave in mid-summer, but I have one nagging concern—and maybe this sounds silly—but won't the cold be an issue? In the winter, you're constantly dealing with a runny nose, right? Since everything will be raw and full of stitches internally, could all that constant sniffing and drainage actually make things worse?
I actually had my first procedure during a cooler season—I can't quite remember if it was fall or winter... but looking back at my recovery times, things actually went by much faster during my most recent one, which was just at the start of this month. It might just be that my first time was at a major hospital under general anesthesia, whereas this one was at a local private clinic, which made the recovery feel a bit more taxing. Honestly, I don't think the season plays a massive role in how you heal. Sure, it’s easier to manage when you aren't sweating, but it's not a huge deal. You’ll basically need to keep your nose chilled for those first three days anyway. And look, it isn't such a terrifying operation that you're going to be completely incapacitated by swelling; you'll bounce back faster than you think. Personally, I’m always a "get it over with sooner" kind of person. Plus, choosing winter doesn't guarantee you won't have a runny nose. You’re going to deal with congestion regardless of the season because of the internal healing and all that extra mucus buildup once they remove the packing.🙂
