Hey there,

So, I picked up this one-meter waterproof LED strip yesterday for my fish tank. I hooked it up to a 20V, 1A power adapter, and wouldn't you know it... 80% of the diodes already fried. Just gone.

What am I doing wrong here? I’ve got a 12V, 5A adapter lying around, plus a few other setups. Does the strip need to be longer to handle the load, or am I just missing something obvious?...

So, I picked up some mid-range Apple speakers as a temporary fix while I save up enough cash for a proper amplifier and high-end monitors. The thing is, the sound quality is pretty underwhelming... I was thinking about grabbing a budget-friendly sound card—since my PC is a bit of an older model, it doesn't make much sense to overinvest—to see if that might help. Specifically, whenever I crank the volume up a little too high, the clarity just seems to vanish into thin air...

Do you think this specific sound card would actually make a noticeable difference?

I could also get something similar to this one for free...

Is the first option perceptibly better? Would there be any real difference when running them through basic Apple speakers?

Right now, I'm just using the standard integrated audio on the motherboard.

Oh, and one quick side question. What’s the best way to check what kind of RAM I’ve currently got installed? I need to know if a new stick I find online will actually be compatible with the one already in my machine...

It’s not cheating. I mean, sure, if I were sitting at the same table using two different accounts, that would be a bit shady... but that's not what I do. It’s not because I’m some kind of saint, it’s just not my style.😁I play multiple accounts across various different tables, and honestly, nobody is getting screwed over by that. The poker site actually makes more money from it, and the other players aren't at any disadvantage compared to me. Personally, I don't really care how many profiles someone else is running; it doesn't change my strategy or my bottom line one bit. At the end of the day, it's all down to player discretion... that's the only thing that matters.......

You could argue that the poker sites themselves are the ones rigging things, though even that isn't quite the right way to put it. They are constantly hunting for a way to balance the ecosystem between the sharks and the fish... they design software that gives the weaker players a better "look" against the pros just to keep them from quitting. That's the game I'm actually fighting against, haha... everyone is just looking out for number one and trying to squeeze out a little extra profit.

It’s an app I just downloaded from the web and installed. It’s pretty lightweight, only about 50MB.

So, here’s the deal. I was playing on one PC using Profile X, then switched over to a second PC using that same Profile X. Both were hooked up to the same router. Later, I set up Profile Y, and tried running Profile X on one machine while running Profile Y on the other. I couldn't join the same table, obviously—the server catches that both profiles are pulling from the same IP address and kicks me out with a message saying, "Cannot join table; player with the same IP is already present." But honestly, that’s not my main concern... The real issue is that the earnings from two separate profiles end up being exactly the same as if I were just playing on one. If things aren't working on the first computer with Profile X, they aren't working on the second one with Profile Y either. Maybe it's because I used the same profile on both machines initially, so the server just sees them as a single entity? Or maybe it's because I'm using the same high-speed cable connection for both... though I suspect it's the first thing, because I'm seeing this exact same pattern now even when I have one connected via cable and the other running on a mobile hotspot.

I confirmed this theory after I borrowed a PC and an internet connection from my neighbor. I played on my own rig and his machine using his profile. In that setup, the earnings actually doubled; sometimes it worked on one, sometimes the other, sometimes both at once... it didn't act like my two accounts do where they're stuck in sync.

Now I'm thinking about picking up another laptop to keep it completely fresh. I'd really prefer to have a totally clean internet connection too, just in case the app flags that specific hardware or IP from previous sessions.

I know, I know, I'm rambling and probably annoying you all, but this is serious stuff for me. This is literally how I pay my bills...

I’m not quite sure I follow enough to give you a pinpoint answer, but let me lay out the situation and maybe you'll see where I'm coming from...

So, here's the deal. I play online poker on this one site. To stay ahead of things, I've got two separate computers running on two different connections—one via cable and the other through a mobile hotspot. If I try to hook both PCs up to the cable connection using a router and attempt to log into the same table with two different profiles, the site kicks back an error saying I can't access the table from a single IP address. That's the specific IP address I'm talking about... if you can figure out what exactly the poker site's server is picking up from all this.

I’m using AT&T mobile data on my hotspot...

I was wondering, what’s the best way to go about changing my IP address?

Is that something I can handle just by swapping out the SIM card, or am I looking at having to replace the entire hotspot device itself?

I have a feeling they’re going to try and hit me with some ridiculous service fee if I ask them to swap things out....
