Nine months ago, I underwent surgery to fix a deviated septum. My nose actually looks great—it’s small, straight, and has no bumps or anything. The only issue was the deviation, which made breathing impossible and pulled my nose slightly to one side. Well, here we are two and a half months post-op, and now I’m developing a depression right down the middle, making the tilt even more noticeable. Naturally, the indentation is on the exact side where the nose is pulling.
I’m going to call my surgeon and schedule an exam... but honestly, based on what you all have been through, what could be happening here? Is it some kind of bone resorption or something? I'm starting to panic because I seriously don't have the capacity for another surgery! 😢

Thanks 🙂
just a septoplasty, if I had to guess.

As for me, I just want to wake up in the morning... I don't care what I look like, honestly. I have a massive phobia of anesthesia and the whole process of waking up.
I have surgery the day after tomorrow🙂 just a septoplasty. Does anyone know how long this procedure actually takes?

Half of these private contractors will bill you for work they didn't even finish just to make sure they get paid.🙄

I don't get why you're questioning the hospitals. Honestly, I actually decided to trust them once I saw how many people end up there needing fixes after private clinics completely botched their procedures.😲 The waiting room at Rib is packed with people who are unhappy with what they got from private clinics. It happens all the time—the aesthetic results look fantastic, but when it comes down to the actual functionality, it’s a total disaster.

I actually thought the same thing at first—that something was wrong with my sinus function. I completely wrote off Glumicic and Zambelli because they focus so much on aesthetics, but then Glusac came into the picture as an ENT who could actually handle both the medical side and the look. But honestly, seeing all these horror stories about people operating on perfectly healthy sinuses? I’m just going to head to the hospital and call it a day. 🙂Thank you all so much. If it weren't for this forum, I would have already been on the operating table by now.

I was seen by Dr. Sos in St. Louis, so I'm wondering if he's a good doctor or if I should just head to Chicago instead. Thanks.😕

I'm thinking septoplasty. Deviation basically means your nasal septum is crooked. The surgery itself isn't overly risky; you shouldn't have much to worry about. They put you under, it takes anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour, and they straighten out that septum. As for that doctor, I don't know him personally since I'm not from around here. You should probably do some digging. 🙂

If you're in San Diego, I've heard Dr. Racic and Cikojevic are excellent. Unfortunately, I found out too late. I had my surgery a month and a half ago and dealt with terrible complications because his work caused the structure to collapse. I'm still dealing with them. I can't even get a revision for another year because my bones need to heal; they're all fractured, and trying anything sooner could just make things much worse.

Thanks. But I can't just sit here and wait... what is he telling you about your current condition? Is he actually claiming it'll just fix itself?! What kind of procedure did you have done? And thanks for the tip—since they're the closest to me, I'll look into booking one of them.

My advice? Go to a hospital... I regret every single day that I didn't choose a hospital. Now, the hospital staff will have to fix the work of some private doctor who was paid a fortune, and until then, I’m stuck suffering for at least six months to a year because he fractured all the bones in my nose.

Oh my God :OOO
How long ago was your surgery? And are you going back in now??
That is exactly what I'm afraid of. If that happens, I might as well save these photos for the hospital doctors. Honestly, I really don't want anyone playing games with my nose... here is a side profile shot,http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5287/img1833ix.jpg ... if I had a hump or something, maybe I'd go in to fix that, but since I don't, I'm terrified of someone messing with things they shouldn't touch... I just need this stupid septum straightened out, and that's it. I'll have to look into finding a solid doctor at a major hospital to make sure they're legit.
I just got my sinus scans back today—the ones Dr. Glusac requested—and my sinuses are completely clear and unobstructed. It turns out my only actual issue is this damn deviated septum. He told me straight up that with him, there’s no such thing as an aesthetic procedure without a functional one; he basically implied that messing with healthy sinuses just for looks is like a dentist polishing teeth for no reason.
Now I'm stuck. A specialist at the hospital told me they could just straighten the septum out—a quick 20-minute procedure followed by some packing, much less intense than those complex surgeries. What do you guys think? I was leaning toward going private because I assumed the hospital wouldn't do such a precise job, but now I'm second-guessing everything.
Ugh, I honestly have no idea what to do here. 😢 Has anyone else had surgery with Dr. Glusac? If so, can you tell me how many days it took before you felt okay going outside? I'm worried about any potential swelling or issues.
P.S. This is my new profile; something went wrong with my old one. 😢 I used to be Brenda Green10.
