urbanbadger1 said:Here’s what I’m wondering about:

1. How long do you actually wear the nasal packing? Some clinic websites say 3–5 days, others say even just two (like at Dr. Glusac’s), so I’m curious how long you guys wore yours and which doctor you saw. I assume it depends on whether they used an open or closed technique...

2. Once the packing comes out, can you actually breathe? I know there’s still going to be mucus and healing tissue inside, but I want to know if you can breathe at all, or if it feels like your nose is totally blocked. Also, regarding that—someone mentioned you shouldn't blow your nose, which makes sense, but can you at least clean it very carefully? I don't mean a standard blow, but maybe using a saline spray/solution and then a very gentle sniff to clear things out.

Could someone please walk me through the stages in more detail?

a.) The first few days after surgery: People say the pain isn't that bad, but they give you painkillers that aren't always super effective. Is it worth taking them? My main concern is that immediately after surgery, the nose is swollen, and all the internal tissue is inflamed and bloody. Add the packing to that, and you can't breathe through your nose for those 3–5 days. Is that a huge struggle when you're trying to sleep?

b.) And I'm curious about the window from day three to day seven—what is the pain level like, and how is sleeping compared to phase A?

c.) I read that the nose can stay swollen for several months or even up to half a year, which really spooked me. But most people seem to say it’s not that bad, so can anyone clarify that? How visible is the swelling, and how much does it hurt from week two onwards? It might be tender to the touch, but I wonder if it interferes with sleeping on your side. Can you sleep on your side if you make sure not to let your nose touch the pillow?

Basically, when do you stop feeling any pain in the nose at all? Can I expect to sleep normally and have little to no tenderness to the touch after three weeks?

Thanks so much for any info you can share.

Good grief, that's a lot of questions! 🙂 Well, here’s how it went for me. I read absolutely everything under the sun online, and honestly, half of it wasn't even true.
They kept me so well medicated; I didn't feel nauseous at all after the procedure. My nose is straight, shorter, the bridge is lowered, and those bumps on the sides are gone. If anyone wants the technical medical terms, I can dig those up. I woke up with the splint and the tape on. There wasn't really any pain, to be honest. I just lost my sense of taste for a bit and my throat felt dry since I've spent my whole life breathing easily through my nose. The bruising was minimal. By the time they took the splint off, I could already see it looked perfect. Removing the packing is uncomfortable, but it’s over fast. After that, you can breathe normally. Some people complained, but my nose wasn't runny or congested later on. In fact, I was already out in NYC the very next day. People were staring, but honestly, sitting in the clinic was way more boring than being out. 🙂 Oh, and the swelling wasn't bad at all. Everything looked pretty much back to normal after ten days. Some people have trouble sleeping, but I just took a pill just in case. Nothing went wrong for me. Anyway, I'll send a photo via private message.
My doctor used the probe to lift them up, but didn't actually touch anything inside my ear 🙂 He just trimmed away what needed trimming, and then my probe settled right where it was supposed to be. I finally took the bandages off. Honestly, I’m thrilled. It couldn't have gone better 🙂
Oh, one more thing. It’s not really a mask, per se. More like some kind of silicone strip. It isn't bulky or covered in a mountain of wires, either. It’s just taped right over the nose. I actually spent the whole time hanging out with Tim. Honestly, I just got too bored lying around.
Kimberly Hughes17 said:That’s great. It honestly feels like everything is going way too smoothly for you. Any swelling or bruising popping up yet? Did they put one of those masks on you, and if so, when do you get to take it off? I realized you aren't from San Francisco either, so I was wondering how long you're planning to stay—I mean, how much recovery time do you need after the surgery?

I went all out with my nose job. We did everything possible: shortening it, narrowing it, repositioning the tip after the reduction, and even adjusting the facial bones on both sides where they meet the nose so it wouldn't end up looking like a literal roof of a house later on.🙂 And I also had naturally heavy eyelids and eyebrows. Not because of age or sagging skin, mind you, but it's just a family trait. My lids were practically invisible under my skin, so my doctor suggested a blepharoplasty along with a slight brow lift. So, that's what I went for. Cut away the excess skin and lifted the outer corners of the brows—I definitely didn't want them arched halfway across my forehead. Given the procedure, I really should have been swollen and bruised for weeks. But, well... here I am. No bruising at all. I’m thrilled! I’ve been at the clinic for five days, and I fly back to Germany tomorrow. They're taking the plastic off tomorrow. Looking at my eyes and this new nose shape, I can say it was totally worth it. I'll snap some photos tomorrow once they peel this stuff off.
They just pulled out the swabs. Ugh, honestly, it was so uncomfortable I almost gagged. The nurse was incredibly sweet and kept checking in on me at every little twitch, but since I’m such a total baby about this stuff, I felt absolutely mortified. As for the symptoms, my nose isn't even running like everyone else seems to be complaining about. It just feels like I inhaled a massive dose of menthol 🙂 and that's about it. I can't wait until they finally get all this gear off me so I can see my face in its entirety again 🙂
Here I am. Everything went perfectly—hardly any swelling at all and zero bruising. From what I can see under the incision, just the very tip looks super. Now if I could just finally get rid of these pads... honestly, I have no clue what I should even be eating right now. 🙂
Well, I finally made it to NYC! 🙂 They gave me such a warm welcome at Barbel. I’m going to get some rest tonight, so I'll check back in tomorrow. 🙂
Kimberly Hughes17 said:Well, yeah. My nose is way too long—you can tell from my profile, and even from the front since the tip droops so much. Plus, my nasal bones are asymmetrical; one side is bigger than the other, and you can barely see the difference unless you're looking at me from, like, way down low. On top of all that, the tip is quite prominent and crooked, leaning more to one side. Honestly, I’m a pretty interesting case study.😍

I'll be following along to see how things go for you... good luck, for real!!

p.s. I’m a fan of small noses too, but for me, anything major would feel like too much of a transformation... I'd honestly just be happy if they could shorten it, lift the tip, and fix the bridge (making both sides look even would be nice).

Hmm, the scale of the change doesn't bother me as long as it makes things better. Why settle for just a little fix if you can actually achieve perfection? 🙂
Me? I’d definitely go for this look:

Kimberly Hughes17 said:It looks like I’m giving up on Glušac after reading three different stories about bad experiences... honestly, my situation feels a bit too complicated for him. I’m really curious if anyone here actually had a good experience with tip reduction. I don't have any humps or anything; my nose might be a little wide, but that doesn't bother me. I just want to take down the tip (it isn't exactly small, there's plenty of 😍 material to work with) ..
Please let me know if anyone dealt with something similar and ended up happy with the results
Thanks 🙂

p.s. Now I'm second-guessing Dr. Tončić too. Some people mentioned he focuses more on function than aesthetics, which is a bit scary... Truth be told, I’d much rather go to Dr. Zambelli (I heard he does some pretty successful revision work), but it’s awkward because he's all the way in San Francisco (if I have that right)

Do you feel like your nose is too long or what?
I'm scheduled with Kincl 07.01. A girl sent me a photo privately and hers turned out great. I don't have any bumps, it's just a little long—you can see it in profile—so I'm going to shorten it a bit and lower the bridge slightly. I've always loved those cute, small noses 🙂
I'll let you know how it goes.
Kimberly Hughes17 said:Hi everyone!!
I've been mulling over nose surgery for quite some time now for a few different reasons. I have a deviated septum, though honestly, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it used to—back in the day, allergies would leave me waking up with a stuffed nose for weeks at a time during the spring—but nowadays, it just happens occasionally. However, it’s the aesthetic side of things that really gets to me. The tip of my nose droops toward my lip, there's this pronounced line between the two cartilages, it's crooked, and just... long. One profile looks fine, but the other is quite unsightly. And I'm not one of those lucky people who looks good from the front either; if anything, that feels even worse. I find myself constantly tilting my head to the "good" side when taking photos and trying desperately not to smile too wide. It's hard to admit that something like this still bothers me so much as an adult, but what can you do when it's stronger than you? I actually broke my nose once, and I have no idea how much that played a role, because looking back at childhood photos, my nose always looked different from everyone else's.
Anyway, sorry to bore you with my life story, but here's the gist: I've been lurking on this forum for a few days trying to get a feel for things. I don't have any clue yet which surgeon to go to. I'm somewhat curious about Dr. Glušac in MA, but I'll need to sleep on that.
I'm wondering if anyone here has had specifically the tip of their nose done (mine is crooked and too large)? Is it even possible to fix that with an endonasal approach? If so, what happens to the excess skin?
Sorry for the "essay"... I won't ramble like this again.🙄
Thanks in advance

If I were in your shoes, I'd think twice before seeing Glusac. I've heard quite a lot of complaints from people who weren't happy with the results.
Nicole Edwards60 said:Oh, yeah, that’s exactly the girl from Glumičić's photo. 🙂 He looks absolutely stunning. As for the chest situation... I’ve decided to let that go. At least for now. I’ll just focus on keeping my figure in shape so you stay happy this time around. And naturally, we’re all waiting on that report—don't you dare forget about me. 😍

I won't, don't you worry about it. 🙂
I specifically mentioned posting before-and-after photos. I honestly have no idea why nobody seems willing to share theirs. They could have at least snapped a quick shot of just their nose.
And don't even think about trying to tackle both surgeries at once—you'll definitely regret it 🙂
Man, just thinking back to 🙂
I was actually scrolling through photos online when I stumbled upon this nose job done by Glumičić. It’s that girl wearing the white one-shoulder tee. Darker hair, wearing earrings. Honestly, I almost became obsessed with the photo. To me, that nose is perfection. But out of everything on his website, that’s the only one that really caught my eye. I went straight to Kincl 🙂 and told them, "That is exactly what I want." I have my appointment scheduled for January.
Well, you’ll have to decide which surgeon to go with on your own. My advice? Go see someone else for a consultation too. There is absolutely no way I’d let someone operate on me if they tried to rush me out the door in three minutes flat. I’ve had two procedures with Kincl, and both consultations lasted well over half an hour because, frankly, I didn't understand half of what was being said. Regardless, I couldn't be happier. They answered every single one of my emails. Plus, a girl from the forum sent me some photos—she was right on the verge of getting her nose done with him. She looks fantastic.
But look, the choice has to be yours. Get a few consultations under your belt and study the before-and-after shots. And hey, you aren't buying the t-shirt just yet 🙂
I’ve officially booked my appointment with Kincl for January 7th. I’ve actually had two procedures there already, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with the results. Since I’m living over in Germany, they were incredibly kind—they patiently answered my endless stream of emails and questions 🙂
Once this procedure is wrapped up, I’ll make sure to post some before and after photos for you all.
Good luck to everyone! 🙂
Hmm... Whether she's recognizable or not, I have to say, her nose is absolutely perfect.
I'm actually going to bring this photo up during our chat, just to see if it would suit me.
Seriously though. When does that final mold—or whatever they call it—actually come off?
I need to know how much vacation time I should be booking.
The truth is, I won't be able to show my face at work as long as those bruises are visible.😢
I'm just hoping I can cover it all up with some makeup.

I could really go for one of those div>
And honestly, why isn't anyone posting photos here? It would be so much easier for those of us actively searching to get a first-hand look at what things actually look like with different doctors. I mean, I’m genuinely terrified that I might end up facing something like this:

boldgardener14 said:Hey everyone,
since I've been lurking on this forum for months and have read through just about everything, I wanted to wait until my surgery was finally over to share how it went. Maybe it’ll help someone else out here...
I spent quite a while debating between Dr. borić and Dr. Kinčl, but in the end, I went with Kinčl..
I did all the prep work, obviously—got all my tests done and brought the results—and the surgery was scheduled for last Monday at 9 AM. My main motivation was aesthetic (my nasal bridge was too long, a bit bulbous, had this barely noticeable bump, and worst of all, a drooping tip so when I laughed, my profile looked like an eagle!), and along the way, I found out I also had a deviated septum, so... two birds, one stone. 🙂
The procedure took about 2 or 3 hours, and I woke up in my room feeling zero pain.. I don't really remember getting to the bed, but at that moment, all I cared about was that everything went smoothly.. Naturally, the first thing I reached for was a mirror.. Between the plastic, the tape, and the gauze, I couldn't see anything except a tiny little tip of a nose.. I didn't even have bruising until day 3. Then I just got these two little spots on my cheekbones and some faint discoloration under my eyes.. The only real nuisance was the packing. I had that removed 4 days later and it was fine.. It took maybe 15 minutes, and the doctor was actually really pleased because there wasn't any blood on the sponges, just clear mucus.. Oh man, that first breath! Pure bliss.. Of course, that didn't last forever.. By that evening, my nose was already "full," so I started the rinsing and all that.. Today, 8 days post-op, I finally took off the plastic and saw it... It is the cutest little nose! 🙂 I was absolutely beaming.. The bridge is shorter, the tip is lifted, and the whole length is straight... just like the photos! And most importantly.. it fits my face perfectly! My biggest fear was ending up with some tiny, pig-like nose that looked totally out of place, but it turned out great! 🙂 I am beyond happy.. Everyone at the clinic was just incredible. Right after the surgery, the nurse and the doctor gave me their direct contact info so I could reach them any time of the day or night, and I honestly can't praise them enough. I'm so glad I made the right call with him; if I hadn't, I might be crying right now 🙂 .I wanted to share this while I'm still riding this high, and I hope it helps at least one person.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks for sharing this 🙂
I ended up choosing Kinčl, too. People were saying all sorts of things online, but I've actually had two breast augmentations with him already, and he did a fantastic job. I'm dying to know what your nose looks like. Any chance you could post a photo?
