If it were an issue with the HDD cable, the motherboard would be throwing errors again. Or at least spit out a message saying it can't find the boot partition. Though, I'll admit, your theory isn't entirely without merit.

What are you thinking, man? Based on that description, it’s either the power supply or the motherboard. If it were anything else, the motherboard would be throwing errors and hitting the internal speaker.
No surprises there, fellow moderator. We all know Catalyst was never exactly the gold standard for stability. 😬 Yeah, you’ll need to wipe the old Catalyst driver completely before installing the new one, and that should do the trick.
I actually agree with you for once. Though I wish it weren't such a depressing topic. Even after six or seven years without touching it, Windows XP remains the most intuitive OS I've ever used.
The client is insisting on Chrome, and honestly, I can't argue with how good their sync feature is. Are you telling me there's absolutely no way for Chrome to swallow those certificates on Windows XP? Not even Internet Explorer or Chrome?
It looks like Chrome is finally pulling the plug on Windows XP too. What a shame. I assume there’s no way to get anything else running besides Firefox now?
Edit: Honestly, I haven't had Windows XP running on my VM for a while now. I could try testing it, but I really don't feel like downloading and installing the whole thing right this second...
I did. I even know how to set the shortcut attribute. Still nothing. It just doesn't work. 😬
