The ASUS setup features Dolby Atmos, Creative Labs Sound Blaster, Cirrus Logic D/A, and a headphone amp capable of driving high-impedance gear. For some reason, it just pairs better with my Sennheiser 😉. It also includes an optical output, should that be required.
Thanks for the input. I went ahead and ordered the Creative Labs Sound Blaster, hoping it will be compatible with my ASUS motherboard P5LD2-X. I managed to find a new unit for 37 miles or about $30 🙂
