I realize everyone’s recovery is different... but has anyone else noticed the swelling after having their nasal splints removed? Mine came off on Wednesday, and frankly, I am losing my patience. I find myself staring at every single millimeter in the mirror. 😂
The base is still incredibly swollen, and the tip? Don't even get me started. It actually looks larger than it did before the surgery. 🤣
Yesterday they finally removed my cast, and let me tell you—one look in the mirror and I was on cloud nine!
Dzepina (Ivo) delivered the nose of my dreams. I realize there’s still some swelling to deal with, but I couldn't be happier. Honestly, I haven't been able to stop staring at my reflection since.
The nostrils look perfectly symmetrical now too... I can't wait for a few more days to pass so the swelling finally goes down!🙂
Maria Hall92 said:hehe... it's because they were never identical to begin with, so you really notice it once they swell up. I know from experience... when they were swollen, they were a mess; one was larger and more closed off, I actually thought they had been butchered. 😁 haha... but now that I look at my nose, they look the same, though if I stare too closely at the nostrils, you can still tell they aren't perfectly symmetrical. 🙂

I had my surgery when I was 16; this is what they look like now. 🙂 How long has it been since you noticed any actual change? Any reduction in swelling? Have they finally "leveled out"? Why is it so incredibly difficult to be patient! 😁

Maria Hall92 said:haha, it was the exact same experience for me. One side felt totally closed off while the other seemed more open... plus, my nose looked like a pig's snout 😁 hahaha, don't worry, it’ll look better every single day 🙂

I am counting down the days until my nostrils finally look symmetrical. I find myself constantly staring in the mirror, waiting for some kind of miracle. Even though I try not to obsess, I can already see the tip looking more lifted.🙂
They finally pulled the nasal packing out today. It feels incredible to actually breathe through my nose again and catch some scents and flavors.
Do I really need to keep sleeping with the head of the bed elevated?
Now that I can actually see the tip of my nose, I’m dying laughing because my left nostril looks slightly smaller than the right one. Honestly, though, the entire left side of my face is just less swollen than the right. I can’t wait until Wednesday when they take the cast off... even if I know the swelling isn't going anywhere, at least I can already see my nose tip is lifted. 😁
Is it actually considered standard practice to undergo surgery during your period, or have any of you had to reschedule an appointment because of it?
I’m asking because I just did the math, and my cycle happens to line up exactly with my scheduled procedure.
Ever since I started digging through this forum and scouring every corner of the internet for info on plastic surgeons, Ivo Dzepina has been sitting firmly in my top five. After weighing all my options, I finally pulled the trigger and chose him. I’ve already finished my consultations, and honestly? So far, I couldn't be more satisfied.
Greetings everyone,

I have a nose surgery scheduled for mid-June with Glumičić & Džepina, and I need to get blood work and an EKG done beforehand. Has anyone here handled this privately at a local clinic? What kind of costs are we looking at?
