Maria Hall92 said:thanks steelangler88 🙂 , hahaha 😁 LOL you are just the best, Sophia Booth35, I am honestly so incredibly happy for you (and for myself too, hehe 🤣 ) big congratulations to you 😁 😁 😁 .. just don't go drinking yet, okay? wait a little bit until you've fully recovered hahahah 😁 .. though goodness knows I can't wait either, sweetie 😁 !

What do you mean I shouldn't drink yet? I already had a drink on Friday!
And it was just a little bit, but I really need to celebrate this. There has been so much anticipation and so much stress involved. I really just need to relax now, and honestly, I'm just trying to kill time until I'm finally allowed to go out for a stroll in my new shoes and show off my nose!!!!!!
Have you been staring at yourself in the mirror ever since you got home? 😍
Because I have been busy getting to know this new version of myself for hours and hours!!!!!!!!!!
Maria Hall92, a huge congratulations to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The recovery is going GREAT, my nose feels AMAZING!
I seriously want to give Glumicic a huge hug right now!
It’s still a little swollen, and the sides look a bit thick and uneven, plus the bridge is pretty wide, but it’s only been 6 days! I told myself that if things don't settle down within 6 months, then I might actually start worrying 😍
My sister keeps telling me it just looks "deformed" because of the medical tape and the splint, and that it'll look much better soon.

But honestly, it's wonderful. The profile view and the front view both look excellent. Even my friend mentioned she was expecting that "fake" plastic surgery look, but instead, it looks totally natural—like, it actually suits my face perfectly.
(I know she's my friend, but she's being totally objective, I swear!)

Anyway, I'm going to go get cleaned up first, and then I'm definitely grabbing a drink!
Donna Watson80 said:How long after surgery am I actually allowed to get a facial cleaning done (assuming I stay away from my nose)?😁

I’m wondering the exact same thing, but specifically, when can I finally touch my nose? That's the only part that really needs attention since those pores are driving me crazy!
And am I allowed to use tweezers to pluck the stray hairs right at the bridge of my nose yet?
Also, when will I be able to go out and kiss some guy with a big nose like a complete idiot again?
And seriously, when can I just blow my damn nose? Like, a full-on, deep-from-the-brain blow?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I'm about to take this cast off, and I am freaking out!
Rachel Barnes5 said:In modern medicine, nothing happens without a computer simulation. Of course, the actual nose won't turn out a millimeter identical to what the digital model shows, but those simulations exist to bridge the gap between the surgeon and the patient, helping everyone get on the same page regarding aesthetic preferences.
The most important thing is understanding the patient's desires through careful, detailed conversation.

What does it actually mean when someone promises a patient they can make their nose smaller or more graceful? Communication is everything, but how can you truly communicate about facial structure if you don't have a visual guide to explain what "slightly lowering the tip" actually looks like? When we are talking about the face, every single millimeter counts.

Rachel, I completely hear where you're coming from; honestly, I wish that technology were available too. I’m just passing along what I read in that article—it was maybe two or three pages long, featuring interviews with several of our local doctors. And keep in mind, this was from years ago. Perhaps they feel they aren't specialized enough in that tech, so they protect themselves by not promising results they might not be able to deliver. To me, that feels like a much more honest approach than having someone draw a perfect version of me on a screen, only for me to wake up from surgery feeling totally different, even if it's just by a millimeter.
While I'm sitting here waiting for my molds to be removed, I find myself thinking, okay, maybe I won't look exactly like Severina or Pišek, but even if I don't, I hang out with plenty of guys and not one of them has ever told me I was unattractive. So, I should be fine, right? 😍
At the end of the day, any improvement over what I had before is progress.
I think I picked up this obsession with those famous women from somewhere. Before my surgery, I gathered a few acquaintances—not celebrities, just regular people—and none of them have a nose like mine. That’s probably why I made my decision without any panic at first. It's just that a sudden wave of anxiety hit me the other day.
I went into surgery with a massive grin on my face—well, I practically had two smiles at once!—only to be absolutely terrified for three days AFTER the procedure. It's enough to drive you crazy.
I guess I'm just a slow learner. 😍
Jeremy Barrett7 said:Is it actually okay to go through with surgery while you're on your period, or have any of you had to push your appointment back because of it?
I'm asking because I just did the math, and it looks like my period is going to hit right during my scheduled surgery date.

It’s perfectly fine. For me, it was the second to last day of my cycle, and I simply let the nurse know so they were aware I had been using a tampon that morning in case anything came up.
Have you ever stopped to wonder what could actually go wrong? Imagine this: your surgeon promises you a perfect, "computer-designed" nose, and you’re absolutely thrilled. Then, they put you under, start the procedure, and suddenly realize the anatomy just won't allow for the look you both envisioned. You wake up with a completely different nose than the one you dreamed of, fall into a deep depression, and end up suing the doctor for fraud.
I actually remember reading an article about a situation just like that once.
The truth is, until the surgeon actually makes the first incision, there is no way to know what they’ll be facing.
As for my own personal preferences, I always wanted a nose like Beyoncé’s—something long and straight. But honestly, on my rounder, fuller face, especially without prominent cheekbones or a defined jawline, that look just wouldn't work. My doctor could have pushed for that style if I had insisted, but then he wouldn't be responsible for me looking like a total caricature afterward.
In the end, I placed my trust in my surgeon; I believe he’s a true aesthetic expert, and I understand that what looks beautiful to him might differ from my own vision, but let's be real—if the result wasn't good, I would have gone back to get it fixed.
If we all approached these decisions with such intense negativity right from the start, nobody would ever go under the knife.
I’ll be honest, I was absolutely terrified the moment I made the final call to go through with surgery. But then I realized that constantly scrolling through forums, questioning everyone I know, and listening to all that neighborhood gossip wasn't helping anyone. Instead, I just focused on the memory of my surgeon's firm, reassuring handshake and those specific words: "I am going to do everything in my power to create a nose that perfectly complements your face," and just let that carry me into the operating room.
just go with the flow...
I’m really crossing my fingers that there won't be any need for a revision down the road.
Either way, I'll check back in with everyone this Monday.
Thanks for the "recipe" advice! I'm going to go indulge myself a little bit, and if I'm not too full, maybe I'll even whip up some cookies. 😍
Margarine on my face? Wait, is that actually safe to get near my eyes? Honestly, my skin is doing fine, but my eyes have been a total disaster lately—one eye almost shut completely because my nose kept shifting just a few millimeters toward the center. It’s finally starting to improve, though. To be fair, I currently look like I’ve gone overboard with makeup, except it's just this weirdly colorful eyeshadow 😍
.
So, what exactly is the recipe here? Are we talking melted margarine? Sliced margarine? Cubed margarine? And is it the salted kind or the stuff you'd use for baking cream? 😍

And oh my god, my nose is itching so much I'm about to lose my mind!!!! I feel like I could rip off the mold and the bandages just to scratch it and blow my nose out! Ugh. Only 45 hours to go... ☕
Maria Hall92 said:I actually just had mine removed yesterday... there's honestly so much stuff involved, from the healing wounds to the stitches, the discharge, and even those little crusty bits 🙂 ... you really shouldn't touch anything or even try to blow your nose. I just gently press a piece of tissue against the start of the nasal bridge to soak things up, BUT I AM NOT DIGGING IN THERE. Seriously, you just have to bear it. 🙂

So, thank you! 😍
I think I'm going to stop lingering here and reading all the horror stories, because I don't want to spend my whole day worrying about what my nose is actually going to look like once this settles. I can't even picture it yet!
Hey ladies, so I finally had my nose surgery on Tuesday. They took out the packing yesterday, but today I’ve got this weird sensation like everything inside is just... swollen or full of something? Is it actually okay to try and blow my nose a little bit—or maybe like, gently sniff—without touching the actual nasal area? Honestly, the constant need to sniffle is driving me absolutely crazy.
