I was watching this clip where a legendary old coach was being interviewed by some talk show host. At the end, some guy in the audience calls him a genius, and he responds by saying, "Look, Ivica, I appreciate the compliment, but if I could give one piece of advice to anyone tossing around a word like 'genius,' it’s this: when someone else calls you a genius, it's a joke. But if you actually believe you're a genius yourself, then it's a tragedy." He goes on and on about it, blah blah blah.
The host cuts him off and just deadpans, "Well, the tragedy is sitting right next to you." 😁

My old man just called me out of the blue to tell me there’s this brilliant piece in the New York Times he thinks I absolutely need to read.
And because I’m apparently a dutiful daughter, I actually did it. I called him back to say, "Okay Dad, I read it."
My father's response? "Yeah, yeah, great, here's your reward. I don't have time to chat, I'm busy making homemade pesto from scratch."

It’s on heavy rotation, no joke—I’m absolutely obsessed with this little gem! Plus, the venue is top-tier 🙏

I should probably mention that I’ve been dealing with a nasty bout of fever and constant sneezing lately—honestly, I felt absolutely terrible—but I didn't want to make a scene or draw any unnecessary attention to myself, so I just kept my mouth shut about it. ☕
