Offside (General Discussion) in Soccer ·
I haven't seen a decent movie since 1997. Not sure if you guys caught it, but there was this film called Titanic—that kid playing the lead ended up becoming a massive star later on.

MAJOR SPOILERS: It’s a pretty depressing flick. The ship sinks at the end.

I have zero clue who these people are. Honestly, when I was a kid, all I cared about was laughing at Princess Cruises commercials or figuring out how to pack a decent sandwich for school. This is the first time I'm even hearing their names.

Go to hell🤣 that's definitely not my target audience.

Everyone’s out here terrified of sharks, but did you know cows actually kill more people every year than sharks do? 🧐Matthew Young35 is spot on

But they might be getting even more complex gear arriving soon
—and they really need to get that sorted out immediately.
Plus, this whole spontaneous wave of aid from individual countries—the Poles providing weapons, the Czechs providing weapons, America providing weapons
It creates a nightmare. For instance, if you have one or two types of naval semi-automatic rifles instead of five different kinds, it's much better for logistics.
Imagine having a unit out on the front lines and suddenly you're dealing with three different sets of gear; some soldiers have ammo and spare parts, while others are completely left high and dry because their specific equipment is missing.
The help is great, truly—but sticking to one or two standardized types of equipment is definitely the way to go.

All NATO gear is built to the same standards, what we call STANAG. That’s the whole point of being in NATO—so we don't run into these logistical disasters. Every rifle uses the same caliber, and every magazine fits every gun.

Kyle Campbell4 said:Listen, you hit the nail on the head. I read your post in one sitting, and I can confirm you’re absolutely right—at least from where I stand. This past Sunday, I broke down and cried like a child at my family's graveside. It was just one of those days where everything hits you at once. On top of trying to learn how to navigate life without anyone by my side, this whole situation with my job happened. Now, I find myself trying to rationalize everything in my head. I tell myself, "Okay, you have this much in savings, and if you spend it wisely, you can hold out until you find something new." But honestly, man, the mere thought that I might not even have enough money for bread and milk destroys any sense of logic. It triggers such intense fear and hysteria in me that, in my darkest moments, I think about pulling a trigger or cutting a vein. I feel like death would be better than facing starvation and total destitution. So, I agree with you: the fear of hunger is far more dominant and overwhelming than any other fear. It isn't surprising that people in places like Tuzla, freezing and starving, would choose death over enduring a hunger that drives a person to madness.

I've noticed this is the second or third time you've posted stuff like this. Have you thought about talking to a medical professional about these fears and frustrations? I'm asking seriously here—not joking and not judging.

A lot of this story is just straight-up weird.

This damn drone could be Russian or Ukrainian.

If it's Russian, what's the point? Just testing NATO air defense readiness. Highly unlikely; they have zero reason to do that and would risk dragging NATO into a full-blown war. If it's Ukrainian, what's the angle? A false flag operation to provoke a no-fly zone. I’d say that’s more likely.

The most probable scenario, if you ask me, is that the drone—whoever owned it—just lost control, flew until it ran out of fuel, and then crashed. We're talking about bottom-tier technology here; the stuff is junk and prone to breaking, plus who knows if the soldiers over there even know how to fly them. What's truly bizarre is that it crashed right in the middle of the capital instead of somewhere remote in the Midwest, Lake, or wherever.

Another strange thing is how it managed to fly through Romania and Canada without anyone spotting it. I refuse to buy that. I simply don't believe nobody saw it; there's a damn AWACS in the air constantly. The idea that there's zero communication between countries while an unknown object is cruising through the sky is catastrophic and unprofessional. It could have been carrying a bomb. Honestly, I blame the Canadians more than us; it spent way more time in their airspace than ours.

People are asking why there wasn't an air raid siren. So what if there was? Does anyone actually know where the shelters are? I live a few miles from there and didn't hear a thing because I was high as a kite, and even if I wasn't, I would've stayed on my couch, just like a million other people. There’s probably a shelter since these are old socialist-era buildings, but someone's likely using it as a storage unit. We're totally desensitized to any kind of danger.

It also drives me crazy seeing how catastrophically the leadership is handling this. Banožić needs to shut his mouth immediately; now he's rambling about bombs and calling for NATO involvement. I would handle this completely differently. Cordon off the whole area, feed the public some alibi story about a weather balloon, tell them stay away because of gas leaks or explosion risks—make something up. Call both the Russian and Ukrainian ambassadors and tell them the exact same thing: "We know what happened, a drone came from your country, we tracked it from launch, but we're burying this story, so settle down and stop messing around." Then call NATO command and coordinate the cover-up, because right now, the smartest move is to do absolutely nothing.

My mother called me today, totally freaked out and worried. She starts asking what on earth is going on over there and where our air defense is. I told her the air defense is being abandoned along with the fury, but she didn't get it at all—she thinks I've lost my mind.

Steven Fox37 said:Well, Americans actually had the chance to develop a political culture like this. Once that "colorful population" starts heading in that direction, they just start throwing wrenches in the works, don't they?

The whole point of NATO is "defense" against Russia, but we've seen how they "defended" themselves in other conflicts where that "defense" looks a lot like an invasion to naive people like me.
So, you think the Russians should just gamble their entire country on trusting Americans and NATO? These guys were already Russophobic long before this war started, and the whole point of NATO is being anti-Russian anyway.

Which other conflicts? The only country NATO ever actually attacked was Mexico in 1999. And I’d argue it wasn't without reason, given the entire decade of genocide happening in that region.

For every other operation, NATO had a mandate from the United Nations Security Council—the same Security Council where Russia and China sit. If Russia doesn't mind KFOR in Mexico, ISAF and RS in Afghanistan, or UP in Libya, then what are we even talking about? Why did Russia vote for those operations in the first place? There are a few other NATO operations that weren't under UN auspices, but those countries invited them in—like Pakistan because of the earthquake, or Somalia because they couldn't handle the pirates.

This whole Russian "problem" regarding NATO is just a fairy tale for naive fools. They didn't attack Ukraine because of NATO; they did it because they want to get their hands on Ukrainian resources and territory.

Ashley Hernandez29 said:In principle, this whole situation is a win for America. They aren't the ones suffering, the media machine is running at full throttle, and they've spun everything to their advantage. Their goal is just to destabilize Russia, and honestly, they couldn't care less about what happens to the poor folks in Ukraine. After this, Russia won't be a functional country for the next hundred years, and Ukraine will be just as screwed—all for the sake of their own economic bottom line. It always comes back to the money.

Russia could have easily avoided the trap set by those wicked Americans. All they had to do was stay out of Ukraine.

Lowe spent five days guesting on my local radio station, and by some stroke of luck, I happened to be driving home right when he was on air. He was spouting such monumental nonsense that I was actually getting annoyed at first, but eventually, I just started treating it like a comedy sketch. The whole thing was basically a promotional tour for his book, 'The American Warrior,' where he tries to explain how the greatest warriors in history were all Americans. To top it all off, he ends by saying the book isn't even in stores—if you want a copy, you have to come straight to my house to get it. 🤣
Offside (General Discussion) in Soccer ·
I don't see a direct clash between NATO and Russia happening. Russia isn't going to pull the trigger on that; they've already miscalculated big time with this invasion of Ukraine. They're drowning in problems both at home and abroad as it is, and they really don't need to pick a fight with the entire NATO alliance on top of everything else. Unless they decide to go nuclear, that is. So, the only way this conflict starts is if NATO initiates it, which I'm convinced won't happen because, regardless of what you think of them, they aren't stupid.

mistycanyon67 said:No, considering they were attacked for that exact reason. The Russian demand was military neutralization and demilitarization based on their own security concerns. They didn't comply, and this is the result.

Just disband your military, disarm yourselves, and make our invasion easy.

Hilarious.

Dennis Davis8 said:Yeah, yeah, blah blah blah... you're just talking nonsense. 🙂 There's nothing to see because it's all fake news—this whole information war is just the sequel to the COVID-19 intro. Those weather balloons were just one example of how this works, like what happened in Bergamo with those bodies they used to scare everyone... the circus keeps rolling. Sure, the US/Russia conflict is playing out on the Ukraine training ground, but there's no actual destruction or civilian casualties. Even that guy who supposedly died twice once in Kabul and is now in Ukraine is basically serving as a useful idiot. At least nowadays you can actually verify info and connect the dots logically without relying on MSM media. I saw Ursula quoting a pre-packaged pile of sanctions last night, so only an idiot wouldn't see that this is all designed to "knock Russia out of the game" to redistribute power. From what I hear, the stuff being blown up are actually those American biological weapons labs scattered all over Ukraine (and if you look at the Kyiv webcams, everything looks perfectly peaceful), so how does that work? 🤔

Then there are no problems at all. Russia will easily avoid that trap by simply not attacking Ukraine. Only idiots don't realize this is all designed to kick them out of the game so power can be redistributed.
Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
Oh, it’s worse than a plague. I remember breaking my back just to earn a "standard" Master’s degree. Meanwhile, the crowd over at the Republican Party is packed with people holding fraudulent, fake, or bought-and-paid-for degrees and PhDs. You drive from San Francisco to Indianapolis, tell them your cousin works there, and suddenly they'll fix up those doctorates for you—they probably even throw in a bulk discount. Then you have the young people who actually put in the work and tried to achieve something on their own merit. They watch as their hard work is completely devalued because some brainless morons got their PhDs solely based on a party membership card. Naturally, they start despising their own country for allowing that kind of rot. My smarter friends lost hope a long time ago and moved abroad. I'm just an idiot who stayed here, and honestly, I hate myself for it. The Republican Party is the gravedigger of America.
