I actually hopped on an airplane just two months after my surgery, and honestly, I didn't run into any major issues at all.

I’ve been scrolling through this thread, and it looks like people were paying anywhere from $1,000 to $1,700, which is less than 10 $0.00 if you're calculating based on a $1,000 baseline. But honestly, they probably didn't include the hospital stay, all the tests, or the consultations in that number. 🙂

So, is that 10 $0.00 just for the surgery itself, while I'll actually have to shell out even more for the consults, exams, and staying at the facility?
I'm asking because I'm a student and I'm footing the entire bill myself. 😁

That was a while ago... Back when I was looking into it for myself (functionality plus aesthetics), prices were hovering around 12 to 15 $0.00... maybe $2,000. I remember some girls paying as much as 18 $0.00 to Zambelli. Most likely, the aesthetic part alone is cheaper... like that 10 $0.00 you mentioned. Or maybe certain procedures are cheaper if you go with doctors who aren't exactly "celebrity" status... I don't know.
Arthur Patel4 said:So, the quote I got from the clinic above my post for a nose job is roughly 10 $0.00. Ouch.
Is there anywhere else I can go that’s a bit more budget-friendly but still does killer work? Maybe somewhere near Indianapolis, or even New York City if I have to make it my last resort? 🙂)
Thanks!

Look, you aren't going to find it cheaper than that... honestly, that price is actually kind of a steal... if you're looking at private specialists.

Is it true that the aesthetic stuff runs about $1,500? Just trying to budget my life here so I know what I'm getting into... thanks!

I’m not sure about the card situation—I just paid cash. But honestly, the guy is super chill about how you pay... you can pretty much work out a deal with him if you need to.
Mine ended up being closer to $1,700... that included both the functional fix and the cosmetic touch-ups.
Good luck!!

Look, from the front, it looks gorgeous, but if you catch the profile view, you can tell there’s still a ton of swelling... especially at the tip. I’ve always said that specific "bulbous" tip area is the stubborn one. It takes the longest to settle down. In my experience, it took me about five months before things actually started looking normal. 🙂
Honestly, it already looks great, and in a few months, it’s going to look absolutely perfect. 😍 👍
dustycanyon16 I can't even begin to process this. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone involved thinks they're being incredibly profound, but in reality, they're just shouting into a void. Seriously, how does anyone actually take this stuff seriously? I've spent enough time around people who think they have all the answers to know that most of what gets posted online is just noise designed to stroke someone's ego. It's exhausting, honestly. You start out thinking you'll find some actual substance here, and then you hit threads like this one and realize you're just wading through a sea of nonsense. It makes me want to just close the laptop, grab a coffee, and pretend the internet doesn't exist for a few hours.
Ugh, seriously, I would be beyond grateful if you could just shoot those photos over to me. I am honestly drowning here—like, completely underwater with all this stress. And if you could let me know which doctor we're actually talking about, that would be a total lifesaver. Thank you, thank you, thank youuuu!🙏

Yeah, I am...

Oh, really? You dealt with that nightmare too? 😁
brightangler18 said:Hey guys, I haven't had a chance to dig through this whole thread yet, but there's one thing I'm dying to know.

I've got a septoplasty scheduled with dr. Lajtman at Mercury this November. My big question is: will they actually fix the look of my nose, or do I have to specifically ask for the cosmetic part? Like, is there an extra fee for that or what? Sorry if this was already covered earlier in the thread, but I've seen so many different stories online that I'm totally lost.

Thanks in advance! 😁

You seriously have to speak up about it, otherwise they won't touch the aesthetics at all.
It’s been about 10 months since my surgery... and I still have this "lump." Though, calling it a lump feels a bit dramatic... it’s not like anything is actually "attached" or anything, it just sits right there under the skin. It's at the bridge of my nose, right between my eyes, tucked under the surface like a little bead... you can't see it, but you definitely feel it when you touch it... and I can even wiggle it left and right...
I went to see a dermatologist recently and they basically told me they had no clue what it was... said it could be some leftover cartilage or maybe a gland... whatever it is, they told me I should go back to my surgeon and have them just cut it out.
Honestly, I’d get it removed because some days it drives me absolutely crazy...
But let's be real, I am NOT traveling all the way down to Miami just for this. The last time I flew out to see him for a follow-up after 6 months... I asked him about this thing... and he just brushed it off, saying it was nothing, and kept rambling on about something else entirely.
Bottom line is, this wasn't here before the surgery and I want it gone! So, I’ll probably just use my insurance to see my local doctor and head to the hospital to figure out what’s going on. I don't have the cash to fly to Miami just to have Glušac tell me again that it's nothing 😁
Betty Taylor2 said:Hey ladies, how long did it take for that little bulb at the tip of your nose to finally flatten out?
After my surgery, it was honestly so cute and rounded, but now that the swelling is shifting, it looks like it’s kind of "drooping," and honestly, the tip just looks massive to me right now. 😢

I had my procedure back in month three, and I am just not vibing with how the tip still looks. My nasal bones (if you know what I mean) are still a bit swollen, but they don't bother me nearly as much as this tip does. I seriously wish I could just shrink it down and lift it back to how it looked immediately after the surgery. It’s such a stupid, bulky tip. 😠

It won't lift up, but that "little ball" on the tip will eventually settle down. To be honest, I can't even remember exactly how long it took for me... maybe around 5 or 6 months before things leveled out.

My nose worked perfectly fine... zero deviation, nothing... but it always got on my nerves because it was just way too long for my face, so I went ahead and had it shortened.
There’s such a thing as aesthetics without functional issues—you just don't touch the septum. That’s how mine was done, by a professor who honestly knows his stuff... and besides, the surgery is way simpler if you leave the septum alone. Again, it's case by case, but for me, it was purely about looks.
And I don't think I'm crazy just because I went through with it even though my breathing was totally okay.. 🙂 (I added this emoji because it's actually pretty cute.. hihi)
🙂

We were totally talking past each other🙂 (and yeah, the emoji is actually cool 😁) I know there are cases that are strictly cosmetic... you're one of those lucky ones in that 30% bracket. Those are two completely different operations... the septum goes deep inside... whatever... I guess you get what I mean... I was just saying that Glušac isn't going to perform a surgery solely for looks if the function is actually broken. He mentions that plenty of girls come in just for the aesthetic side... like, "hey, get rid of this bump"... but when he examines them, he sees the deviation along with the bump... and then he tells them straight up that you can't have the look without fixing the function. Personally, I think the girls who know they breathe poorly but insist on *only* cosmetic work are the crazy ones... just like I think the ones who shrink their noses so much they end up ruining their breathing are crazy too. Are we on the same page now? 😁
And yeah... there are people who don't even realize they have a deviation. A doctor spots it during the exam. But usually, it's just minor stuff that people live with and breathe through just fine. It's the big ones, like mine, that actually mess with you... causing headaches... constant congestion... and all that other crap...
Look, you totally misread what Glušac was saying. At the end of the day, he’s a functional specialist first and foremost, and that’s his priority... he isn't just going to focus on the aesthetics if he sees that your breathing is messed up... and he's definitely not going to give you a nose that looks pretty but ruins your ability to actually breathe.
But, if you don't have a deviation—and honestly, about 70% of people have one without even realizing it because it's hidden—then he'll just stick to the purely cosmetic stuff.
There’s no such thing as aesthetics without function... I mean, who is actually crazy enough to care more about how their nose looks than being able to take a breath? 🤷
Ashley Gomez said:Does anyone know a good soul who can teach me how to blur eyes in photos? please

rustygardener172, you really opened my eyes to this... I actually went out and bought half a liter of saline today for $3.25 🙏

One question for the veterans here... how long did it take for your face to finally look normal? I’m still pretty swollen—around the eyes and then on the left side above my nose and down on the right. My 🙄 nose looks like I just smeared grease all over it...

I tried blurring them in Photoshop, but honestly, it’s way easier in Photoscape...Kimberly Baker13 had the right idea!

Ugh... as for that swelling... I can't say for sure. Maybe about a month? At least for that weird puffiness around the eyes. I was just looking back at my photos from the big surgery, three months post-op, and my nose still looked like a total balloon 😁
I feel like it's only in this last month that everything has finally settled down... and somehow, I think it looks even prettier now 😍
Kate Mitchell67 said:Thanks for your "insightful" little response.

Don't mention it. And hey, next time you decide to drop one of your "questions," maybe try looking around first. You asked us for our experiences, but newsflash: we've already shared them. All you have to do is actually read what's already on the board. 😛
Kate Mitchell67 said:Hey everyone, what's up?
Hey, I was wondering if I could grab some advice on something? So, I’ve been seeing a lot of talk lately about picking a plastic surgeon, and honestly? It’s a total minefield. If you're starting to look into this, buckle up, because there is a massive difference between finding someone who looks good on Instagram and finding someone who actually knows how to handle a scalpel without turning you into a cautionary tale. I want to hear your unfiltered truth. What was your experience like? Did you find "the one," or did you end up regretting every cent spent? Let's break it down, because there are so many moving parts here: **The Selection Process:** How did you even vet them? Did you just go by word-of-mouth, or were you digging through deep internet rabbit holes looking for reviews? I personally can't stand those overly polished, fake-sounding testimonials. I need the grit. I need to know if they actually listen to what you want or if they just try to upsell you on every procedure under the sun. **The Price Tag:** Let’s be real—this stuff isn't cheap. Are we talking "saving up for a year" kind of money, or "I just put it on my American Express and hope for the best" kind of money? And please, tell me if the quote you got felt reasonable or if it felt like a complete highway robbery. **The Recovery:** This is the part everyone glosses over in the brochures. They show you the "after" photo where everyone looks glowing and perfect, but nobody talks about the swelling, the bruising, or that weird, uncomfortable phase where you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck. How long did it *actually* take you to feel like a human being again? Was the downtime manageable, or were you stuck on the couch for weeks praying for the swelling to go down? If you've gone through this, please, spill the tea. Whether it was a total success or a complete disaster, I want to hear the details. Your experiences could save someone else from a massive headache (or a very expensive mistake).
Honestly, I’ve got this nose that is quite literally way too big for my face. It’s just completely out of proportion. I really need to get it scaled down—I'm talking about the bridge, the tip cartilage, and narrowing the whole thing out. It’s driving me crazy.
I’m looking to get my surgery scheduled sometime this summer, so honestly, I am all ears. If you have any insight, advice, or even just some cautionary tales to share, please, don't hold back—every single comment is incredibly helpful right now.
Thanks in advance, everyone! 🙂

Look, don't take this the wrong way, but that's exactly what everyone is talking about on this forum right now. If you're actually interested in getting the full picture, you should just dive into the threads and start reading—honestly, we’ve all been there, obsessively scrolling through old posts just to make sense of things. Or, if you really want to go down the rabbit hole, would you rather have everyone jump back in and recount their own experiences just for your sake? I mean, it's your call, but the info is already out there if you look for it.
Look, nobody can pick out a surgeon for you, and honestly, they can't step in and go under the knife on your behalf, either. This isn't something you can outsource to a friend or delegate to someone else. It’s a "job" you’re going to have to face and get through entirely on your own.
Look, if you’ve got a specific question, go ahead and shoot—I'm all ears. But honestly? Regarding that post of yours, I don't have anything else to add beyond what I just laid out. There's really nothing left to say. ☕

I just had my appointment with Dr. Glušac over in Makarska, and honestly? I am beyond thrilled with how everything went. Seriously, if you're looking for someone who actually knows their stuff, this is it. 👍 Look, I'm more than happy to talk you through the details regarding my surgery... honestly, just hit me up via PM if you want to dive into it.
Jessica Parker20, look, you’re looking at roughly $2,200 for the surgery... give or take. It really just depends on which surgeon you go with and the complexity of what they're actually doing.

Patrick Walker, honestly, even God doesn't have the answer to that one. 😁
I actually went to see Dr. Glušac over in Miami, and man, I am beyond thrilled with the results. My nose looks incredible and my breathing is finally perfect. Highly recommend!
Megan Moore76 said:Ladies, your noses look incredible! 🙂 I wanted to ask, do you need to stop taking meds like hormones (Diane and stuff) before the surgery?

I literally waited until a second before the procedure to ask the anesthesiologist, "Hey, is it a big deal if I'm on birth control?" 😁 It wasn't actually a dealbreaker for him, but he told me I really should have mentioned it sooner. Apparently, they might give you something to prevent blood clotting beforehand. I didn't get it because I waited too long, but luckily everything turned out fine.
Bottom line: make sure you tell your doctor! It costs absolutely nothing to be upfront about it.

steelangler88, your nose looks amazing. You're seriously just stressing yourself out for no reason. You know perfectly well that with an open rhinoplasty, the recovery takes at least twice as long as a closed one. Plus, your procedure was different. Tissue needs time to settle and de-swell... the tip still looks pretty swollen to me based on the photos. Your nasal angle is sitting right at 90 degrees... which is basically perfection. I have no idea why you think it looks droopy!

Do yourselves a favor and stop over-researching everything—you'll be way happier!! 😁

Look, all these photos you guys are posting don't mean a damn thing to me if I can't see the rest of your face.

Honestly, I'm right there with you. I mean, imagine if plastic surgeons just posted pictures of noses on their websites and nothing else. 🙂 Personally, I always sent shots of my whole face and head... I’d just blur out my eyes. I was getting way too full of myself thinking I had such a cute little nose... 🤣

Ashley Gomez, your nose is gorgeous... it looks almost exactly like the last one, they just gave it a little glow-up 😍 But... mine is definitely more rounded when looking from the side than yours is 😛
Drew Sullivan6 said:Hey everyone,😉
so, here's the deal... I'm 23, and back when I was a kid, I took a hit to the nose. I'm pretty sure it got slightly crooked then. At first glance, you can't really tell, but in photos? It's obvious. It leans just a little bit to the right. And honestly, it drives me crazy. When I take selfies from one angle, my nose looks totally fine, but if I flip to the other side, it looks huge. My profiles are completely different, even though everyone tells me they don't notice anything. But trust me, it's there and it's real. Does anyone know what kind of procedure I'd need just to get it centered again? Even just a tiny bit would be huge. Thanks.

Ugh, I feel your pain... I went through the exact same thing. I used to be so self-conscious that I’d only ever take photos from one specific half-profile... because from the front, my nose looked totally crooked, and from the other side, it looked massive. 🤣
I am so incredibly glad I finally got it fixed!! Now I can actually breathe like a normal human being, thank God!!
Chris Reed4 said:Yeah, I’m also wondering if the nasal supports can be shrunk down.

Of course you can! Just keep in mind that if you do, the seams end up on the outside. Honestly, just do a quick Google search for "nasal support reduction" or "narrowing nasal supports." You'll definitely find way more detailed info online than any of us could ever rattle off to you here.
