I completely understand that when you're dealing with a "standard" surgery involving bone restructuring and all that, it takes a few months for everything to settle back into place—that was certainly my experience during my first go at this...

My only real hang-up is that I didn't experience any of those typical symptoms; there was no bruising, no swelling, nothing—it all happened incredibly fast. Tomorrow marks two weeks since the procedure and I haven't had a single side effect. Most people here have been talking about bruised nasal tips and massive swelling, so I can't help but wonder: is it actually possible that I managed to bypass all of that entirely? 🤷

Sam Grant5, thanks for the reply! 😉
Hello everyone, I have a quick question for the group—if anyone here has gone through something similar or might have some insight!

I had surgery about two weeks ago, which was actually my second nose job. This one was strictly cosmetic. Unlike my first procedure, there was no bone breaking involved this time; the surgeon just shaved down the lower cartilaginous part where a noticeable bump had remained from the previous operation. He also gave the tip a slight lift while he was at it.

The numbness has already started to fade, though there’s still a tiny bit of tightness—but honestly, there isn't any pain at all.

What I'm really wondering is: when can I realistically expect the swelling to fully subside? The lower portion looks a bit bulky right now, and I'm curious if the tip might drop slightly over time, given that it doesn't feel particularly hard or overly swollen. 😕

Since we didn't touch the bone this time and the whole process was relatively straightforward, I'm questioning how much more change I should anticipate. Is what I'm seeing now basically the final result, or is there still significant shifting to come?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Has anyone here actually dealt with Dr. Laitman over at Mercury Hospital before?
Hey everyone. Would anyone who’s had surgery performed by Tončić be willing to send me some photos via private message? Only if they don't mind, of course—I really don't want to be a bother. Thanks so much in advance! 😍
Hi everyone. I posted here a little while back about my rhinoplasty—mentioning how I wasn't exactly thrilled with the outcome. To be blunt, there’s still this bump on one side of my nose; either it wasn't shaved down properly during the initial procedure, or perhaps it just developed on its own during the healing process. Either way, it's there, and I'm stuck with it for now. Anyway, since we're here, I wanted to see if anyone has gone through the ordeal of a revision surgery? I'm also looking for recommendations for a solid surgeon in the New York City area. I’d heard that smoothing out the bone wasn't particularly complex, so I'm curious if anyone else has dealt with something similar... I'd really appreciate any insight or advice you all might have. Thanks in advance!
I’ve already gone through the checkup, but his feedback was nothing more than a series of dismissive "everything looks great" and "don't worry, you'll be fine" comments...🤷 Honestly, I can't shake the feeling that it's just easier for him to play it safe than to actually admit if something went sideways—it's almost as if acknowledging a potential mistake is too much to ask. Of course, there's also the very real possibility that I'm just spiraling over nothing and things will turn out perfectly fine in the end, which is exactly why I decided to reach out here and see if anyone else has dealt with this kind of ambiguity..
I wasn't seeing a private specialist—I was actually at the hospital over in Columbus. Because of that, I’m not entirely sure if my experience will be useful to anyone else here... but honestly, if anyone has gone through something similar, please share. I am truly in a bad way right now. I just need to know if anyone else has dealt with these kinds of complications and, more importantly, how things turned out for you in the end.
Hi everyone. I’m reaching out because I’ve run into a bit of a situation, and I’m hoping someone here might have gone through something similar and can offer some perspective. It’s been 17 days since my rhinoplasty—I went under the knife to fix a prominent hump on the bridge and to shorten the tip. My surgeon was very confident beforehand; he promised he’d smooth out that bump and refine the profile, and everything sounded perfectly straightforward. However, looking at where I am right now, I’m honestly struggling to find any satisfaction with the results. The nose is still incredibly tender to the touch, and the lower section feels remarkably hard—though I suppose that’s just the swelling doing its thing. What’s really eating at me, though, is the shape. It looks... well, "potato-like" is the word that comes to mind. I can't even say the nose looks smaller yet; it just looks different, which isn't exactly what I signed up for. To make matters worse, one nostril seems to sit differently than the other, creating this visual illusion in photos that my nose is actually drifting to one side. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of asymmetry or odd shaping during the early stages? Can I realistically expect the swelling to subside enough for things to settle into a normal shape? And it's not just the shape—while the hump on one side seems okay, I can feel a small, lingering protrusion on the other side when I touch it. It isn't glaringly obvious, but it's there, and frankly, the whole situation is leaving me feeling quite desperate. I am fully aware that the healing process is a marathon and that it takes a significant amount of time for the final shape to emerge, but given how it looks right now, I’m finding it hard to stay optimistic. Sorry for the long-winded post—I know it's a lot—but if anyone has had a similar experience during their recovery, please, share it with me. I just need to know what to expect and if there’s actually light at the end of this tunnel. Thank you all so much for any insight you can provide. 🙂
