X-rays usually aren't even necessary, and things like blood work or an EKG really need to be done right before the actual surgery—within a month at most—so there’s honestly no point in rushing to get any of that checked out before you've even had a consultation and settled on a date for the procedure itself.
...
So, what you're telling me is there are no X-rays for the head, the nose, the sinuses, or whatever else? I might be asking a stupid question here, but if they aren't doing those, how on earth do they actually know what's going on inside?
I am looking for someone who has gone through nasal surgery to give me some insight into the full battery of tests and X-rays required before heading into the operating room. I haven't actually started any of the preliminary testing yet, but if I'm being honest with myself—and I try to be—it feels like I’m dealing with both a deviated septum and a need for aesthetic correction. I am fully aware that I need to schedule a formal consultation and sit down with a specialist to go over everything, but I would truly appreciate having a bit of a roadmap before I walk through those clinic doors.
Thanks
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m going to take some time to sit down and comb through the previous posts here, then I'll circle back once more if any additional questions happen to cross my mind.
I'm dealing with stage two internal hemorrhoids.
My doctor suggested I undergo surgery using the HAL method. Honestly, things haven't been unbearable yet—I haven't even had to reach for anything like Preparation H up to this point—but I am planning on getting pregnant soon. Because of that, my physician recommended I get ahead of this now so I don't end up facing much more intense issues during pregnancy.
To be perfectly candid, I’m feeling quite apprehensive about the whole procedure. I’ve actually been putting it off because I’m terrified of potential post-op complications. I've been reading horror stories online about how you might lose bowel control after the surgery, along with a whole laundry list of other issues, and it makes it incredibly difficult to pull the trigger on a decision.
If anyone here has found themselves in a similar situation, I would truly appreciate hearing about your experiences. Also, if you have any recommendations for a reputable private clinic or a specific specialist in the States, please let me know.
It feels like I'm shouting into a void here; I don't really have anyone in my immediate circle I can turn to for advice on this, as it seems like I'm the only one I know who deals with this kind of thing.
I also can't help but feel a bit cynical about the whole process. Since I went through my exam at a private facility, I can't shake the feeling that it's just easier for the doctor to recommend surgery to keep the business moving and the revenue flowing. (Just to be clear, money isn't the issue for me if this truly is the most effective path forward).
Thanks in advance
