Maria Fisher46 said:Sorry for the late reply, man! Just been swamped with stuff lately and haven't had a second to hang out on the forum.

You're totally right, though—when you've got hemolysis going on, you'd usually expect the K. erythrocyte and Hgb to be sitting at the low end of the scale or even dropping below it.

That said, there are some super rare cases where you actually see pathological hemoglobin alongside both erythrocytosis and hemolysis. Because of that, it’s probably a good idea to get a hemoglobin electrophoresis done as part of the workup just to be safe.

Best,

My latest KKS results are pretty much identical: erythrocyte 5.74, MCV 82, MCHC 350, retic 25

And on the protein electrophoresis, these values are outside the normal range:

alpha 2 globulins - 7.0 (7.4 - 12.6)
beta globulins - 7.3 (7.5 - 12.9)
A/G ratio - 2.26 (1.10 - 1.80)

The rest:
Total protein: 79 (66-81)
Albumin - 69.3 (59.8-72.4)
alpha 1 globulin 1.8 (1.0-3.2)
gamma globulin 14.8 (8 - 15.8)

I'm gonna go get those tests you mentioned done privately and I'll hit you up with the results once they come in.
Thanks for getting back to me!
My spirometry results came back totally fine—115/126/92. They haven't checked my bilirubin lately, but the last two times they did, it was elevated at 29.7 and 22. They didn't bother checking my haptoglobin, though. Sorry to be a pain and bug you with a total rookie question here: does hemolysis actually happen during anemia? Also, if it does, how is it that my Erc and Hgb aren't sitting right at the bottom of the range?

And the whole thing about my tonsils... I only brought that up because I heard they can basically act as breeding grounds for all sorts of health issues, just like teeth can.
Nicholas Myers, could you break this down for me too? I'm trying to make sense of everything regarding the myasthenia.

So, looking at these results, some of this stuff is totally outside the normal range:

Erc -5.77 (p)
MCV -82 (s)
MCHC - 354 (p)
Basophils - 0.10 (p)

Urinalysis results came back and looks like erythrocytes are around 10—just sitting right on the borderline (p).
urine sediment:
Erc 3-5
I can't quite make out what you mean by "leu 1-3"—looks like a typo or maybe some shorthand? If you're trying to share lab results or asking about something specific, just drop the details! I'm all ears.

S-glucose - 445 (p)

K -Rtc - 27 (p)

UIBC is sitting at 54.3 (p).

plinovi:
HCO3 23.6 (p)
BE - 1.1 (s)
BE ecf - 0.9 (s)
po2 - 113 (p)
O2 sat is sitting at 98—right on the edge of the normal range.

Just looking at the rest of the lab results, there's a few things worth noting:
My Hgb stays pretty steady around 170—usually hovering between 168 and 173.
Erythropoietin 10 (4-33)
So, what kind of mutation are we talking about here—negative? Does that mean we can 100% rule out primary polycythemia?

Just got some ultrasound results back... they're saying my spleen is looking a bit chunky, measuring in at 12.5. Also, apparently there's some pleural effusion going on. Not exactly the news you want to hear, right?
So, last year they were seeing about 3cm of free fluid in my abdomen, but on this most recent ultrasound, it’s totally gone. No sign of it at all!

Sometimes I get these headaches, and my neck feels like it’s on fire.
Sometimes my hands just get these random tingles, you know? Like a weird buzzing feeling every now and then. Anyone else dealing with that?
Most of the time, I just feel kind of... out of it? Not like I'm actually dizzy or anything, but more like my balance is totally off and my reflexes aren't what they used to be. Just feeling super uncoordinated lately.
Man, I’ve got this weird pressure building up in my ears whenever I yawn... like they just start popping and clicking inside. It’s super strange because they feel totally dry, and there's almost zero wax in there.
Man, I've been running some low-grade fevers too, hitting around 99.5.
Oh, and I should probably mention—I’ve been dealing with some pretty wild blood pressure issues and tachycardia too. My pressure would spike all the way up to like 150/100 or even hitting 200/130, and my heart rate was racing up to 130 bpm. Just a total rollercoaster!
So, for the last six months or so, my blood pressure has been pretty much sitting right around 120/80. It’s super steady like that. Every once in a blue moon, it might jump up to 140/80, but honestly, most of the time it just cruises between 110/75 and 130/80. Pretty chill, right?
Man, I've had this happen a couple of times lately where I just feel like I can't catch my breath. It’s been happening while I’m sleeping too, which is honestly pretty wild.
Basically, I've been out of the game for about a year now. Honestly, I'm just waiting for things to finally turn around, but nothing significant has really kicked in yet. Still hanging in there, though!

One more thing—could some kind of viral infection be behind all these symptoms and this blood work?
So, for about a year now, I've been dealing with this reddish discharge that looks almost like little polyps, plus my tonsils are a bit swollen and keep spitting out that white gunk. Here’s the lab report from the clinic:
OTS - just a shorter reflex.
RNS - deviation to the right
OFS - tonsils are outside the arches and looking pretty asymmetrical.
ASTO hit a solid 59!

Man, I was grinding away at that EBV stuff for like half a year straight.
So, just got some news back... EBV VCA IgG came back positive at 750. Still processing everything!
Man, my IgG is sitting at 132... that's wild.

Still got that annoying runny nose hanging on, but hey, it should finally be cleared up by the end of the day!

Just so you guys know, I don't drink, I don't smoke, and my diet is totally on point—zero junk food over here.
Height, weight—186 cm, 83 kg, and I'm 22.
I've been healthy my entire life, seriously—never had a single issue. Honestly, I was always in peak condition too: constantly out cycling, swimming, running... just staying super active.

And just when I thought I was done, my nasal swab results finally showed up:

So, I just got the results back from the nasal swab, and here’s the breakdown: they found some cylindrical ciliated and secretory cells that look pretty inflamed and a bit worn down. On top of that, there are neutrophil granulocytes, some cellular debris, and bacteria hanging out in there too.
No eosinophil granulocytes found.
Maria Fisher46 said:So, from what I can gather, you’re getting checked out because they suspect polycythemia? Honestly, without more data or seeing your actual lab results, it's pretty much impossible to give you a real answer.

My ERC came back at 5.60 to 5.77... the ref interval is 4.34 - 5.70. Just barely over!
So my HGB went from 162 up to 173... looking at the lab range, it says 138 to 175. Still totally within the lines! 🙌
So, I just got my results back... MCV is sitting at 84. Looking at the lab report, the normal range is listed as 83 to 97.2. Seems like I'm right on the edge! Just keeping an eye on it.
MCH came back at 29 to 30... the lab range says 27.4 to 33.9. Looks like I'm right in the sweet spot! Everything seems totally normal on that front.
MCHC is sitting between 347 and 352... whereas the normal range is usually 320 to 345.
RDW is sitting at 12.5... totally normal since the range is 9 - 15. All good!
TRC from 252 up to 287... man, that 158 - 424 range is wild.
MPV at 7.1... the range says 6.8 to 10.4. Still totally within the normal zone! 🥂

RTC 27 ........................................5.0 - 21,6
SE 3 ....................................... 2 - 13

Urea at 3.8... compared to the range of 2.8 to 8.3. Just checking the numbers!
Urate 342 ...................................182 - 403
Iron at 16... ugh. The lab range says 11 - 32, so I guess I'm technically "fine," but man, that feels low. Just sitting there in the single digits territory.
TIBC 70.5 .................................. 49 - 72
UIBC came back at 54.3... my lab range says 25 - 54. Just barely over the line! lol. Still feels pretty normal though, right?

pH 7.367... right in the sweet spot between 7.350 and 7.450! 🙌✨
So, I was looking over my latest blood work results, and my pCO2 came back at 43.50 kPa. Looking at the lab's reference range—which is 35.34 to 48.12—it looks like I’m sitting pretty right in the middle of the pack! Everything seems totally normal on that front. Just one of those little updates while I'm tracking everything.
TCO2 is sitting at 25.8... looking pretty good since the normal range is like 22 to 29!
So, I was checking out my latest labs, and my HCO3 (st) came back at 24.4... which is just a hair over the standard range of 18 - 23. Honestly? Not even sweating it. It’s basically right there on the line! Everything else seems totally chill. Just one of those tiny little bumps in the road, nothing to lose sleep over. Keeping it breezy!
BE (ecf) 1.1 (0.9)... looks like we're sitting at a solid 2 - 3 (2 - 3) right now.
My pO2 came back at 113.8... and the lab range says 54.9 - 79.7. Yikes! 😅
O2 levels at 15.1... compared to the normal range of 7.3 - 10.6. Wow!
O2 sat is at 98%... totally within that 94 - 98 range! 🙌

Serum ferritin came back at 52.8... normal range is 30 - 233. Still looking good!

Is there any chance that my police report is already showing up in the system?

Erythropoietin - 10 IU/L

So, I just got my ultrasound back... and ugh, the spleen is looking a little chunky at 12.5cm. Plus, they found some pleural effusion too. Not exactly the news I was hoping for!

I'll try to keep this short and sweet:

Ugh, I’ve been dealing with this constant fatigue and such intense brain fog lately... it feels like my head is just totally stuffed up or clouded over. Plus, my arm has been feeling super weak. Anyone else going through this?

Ugh, so after I went a bit too hard at the gym, I’ve got this weird "burning" sensation going on in my chest and just... everywhere? Like, honestly, every single muscle feels inflamed or something. I don't even know how to explain it properly, it's just such a strange feeling!

So, I used to deal with this constant pressure and aching in my neck and back... honestly, it’s totally possible it all stems from that wipeout I had on my bike last summer. I just got my results back, though, and here’s the breakdown: I've got some mild degenerative changes from C3 down to C7, plus my physiological lordosis is flattened out. Also, apparently there are some Schmorl's nodes from T6 to T9.

So, they were running all kinds of tests on me late last year when I was stuck in the hospital dealing with high blood pressure. It was getting pretty intense—we're talking numbers jumping from 150/100 all the way up to 200/130. Just wild. And I should probably mention that my readings on the left arm always seem to run about 10 to 15 points lower than the right. Just one of those things, I guess!
So I just did my stress test, and man, those numbers were wild! My resting heart rate was sitting right at 130 before I even started pushing, and then once things really kicked into gear? It shot straight up to 180. Just thought I'd share!

So, my blood pressure’s been looking pretty solid lately even without the meds—like, the last three months have been chill. I've seen it dip down to 105/80, and hit a peak of maybe 150/90, but honestly, most of the time it stays right around that 125-130 over 75-85 sweet spot. If I just had that baby-level energy again, I'd be absolutely crushing it at the gym!

Sometimes my heart rate just decides to spike out of nowhere, hitting like 100 or even 120 bpm, but honestly, most of the time it stays chill around the 70-80 mark.

The bottom line? Since late last summer, I’ve been totally out of commission—both physically and mentally. Just completely wiped out.

It’s all just super weird to me, honestly. Like, for the last few years, I’ve been totally dialed in with my lifestyle—running, cycling, swimming, all that good stuff. And it’s not even like I was having issues before; I actually had enough energy for like ten people at once. Seriously, I felt bulletproof.

I have absolutely no clue what the deal is here... like, seriously, I'm totally lost. Do you think I've been overdoing it on the Mono? My EBV IgG came back at 750 and my EBNA IgG is at 132... any idea what that means?

Current status: honestly, like I mentioned before, just totally wiped out... and then every once in a while this weakness hits me out of nowhere. My blood pressure feels all wonky, too—like I’m about to just pass out or black out. That part? Definitely the worst part of this whole mess.

So, I'm constantly hitting this weird little borderline temperature around 99°F, but honestly, it’s not even happening all the time. Just kind of hits me out of nowhere sometimes.

If you guys need me to dive deeper into the timeline of everything that’s gone down over the last year, or if you want to see any of my test results, just hit me up in a DM. I didn't wanna hog the whole page here lol

Cheers!
Looks like you've got mono

Just keep sipping on some olive leaf tea and get plenty of rest, okay?

Got another quick question for you guys: I’ve actually decided to shell out a little more cash, so I was wondering if this would work well with my current setup if I also bump up my RAM?

NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 1 GB

Thanks a ton for getting back to me, I really appreciate it!

Anyway, I’m thinking the 5450 might actually edge out the N210—though honestly, it probably isn't any better than that old card you used to run. Let's be real, both of those are pretty much joke tier by today's standards. If you actually wanted to get some decent gaming in, you'd definitely have to shell out more cash.

And honestly, my specs are pretty much a joke by today's standards—you can just scroll back through the previous pages if you want to see how ridiculous they actually are.

Man, I'm telling you, I've been running this game on High settings without any issues at all. No sweat!

Honestly, I don't even need it for gaming anymore. Just using it for browsing the web, listening to music, and... well, you know, watching adult movies.
Yeah, maybe just for a little bit of seasoning. 😁

And that’s exactly why I'm posting this from Safe Mode—the current setup just isn't cutting it right now.

No, for real though—I’m definitely planning on picking up a new rig pretty soon, so that's why.

So, just let me know—can I actually run that on my motherboard if I pick up an extra 1GB of RAM?

Replying to slywolf40:

Man, mine just kicked the bucket... everything's dead except for the PCI Express.

And don't even get me started on Craigslist—those people are absolutely out of their minds. They’re seriously trying to peddle ancient junk that hasn't been relevant in like ten years for... $67
Honestly, I have no clue who’s actually gonna pick this up.

Go ask Joshua Garcia3, he’s basically the king around here.

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Nah, you can't. It's too small and won't even fit the slot in a desktop rig.

If I picked up some more RAM, would this whole setup actually run with this processor? Also, is there maybe a thread somewhere that walks through how to install all these parts?
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Timothy Kim60 said:You totally can, you've got a PCI Express slot right there. If you don't really care about performance, just grab some super cheap card—like an HD 5450 or something—if it's just for display purposes.

I mean, if I'm gonna play something decent, it'd be nice to actually have some decent graphics power, you know?🙂

So, I just checked her website and saw the minimum memory requirement is 2GB.
Does that mean it won't run at all if I only have 1GB of RAM?

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3331#ov

Also, is there any way I could pull that 1GB stick of RAM out of my laptop and swap it in?
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
I'm looking to swap out my graphics card since my Nvidia 7600 GT finally kicked the bucket
(typing this up from Safe Mode)

I've got my eye on this one:

So, I was wondering if it'll actually work with my motherboard

It's a Gigabyte - 945P-S3

Here's the rest of the setup:

1GB of RAM

CPU: Intel Core Duo 6300

And I'm pretty sure the power supply is just a standard Codegen 400W

Just a heads up though—this is strictly a temporary fix (maybe for a year) because I'm planning on picking up a much newer PC soon. I don't really want to sink more cash than this into it, especially since it wouldn't make much sense given my current specs anyway
