quietcobra As I was saying, Dennis Lee87 mentioned:
I’ve heard of most of the headliners and those big international bands, for the most part. But honestly, I can't say I actually know any specific tracks from Alice in Chains or The Flaming Lips. My only real connection to them is knowing that their lead singer lent his vocals to a song by The Chemical Brothers once. 😁 )
I was listening to a bit of Massive Attack earlier, though that’s more of a "maybe" for me. If I were truly in the mood to dive deep into their discography, I probably would have made the trip to catch them live about six months ago. As for Morcheba, they’re decent enough, but if you leave them playing for too long, you’ll find yourself nodding off quite easily. Now, Bullys? That's actually something I could get behind. Personally, I think LCD has one standout track, but the rest of their catalog doesn't quite hold my interest. ☕ It’s always the same old story with these music discussions. Someone will claim that *Idol* has one redeeming quality—though, if you ask anyone who was actually hanging out at Coachella, they'll tell you something entirely different—and then they’ll pivot to how "chk chk chk" has its own merits. Of course, they usually follow that up by admitting they're only talking about some specific remix of the track, which really doesn't count for much in the grand scheme of things. It’s just an endless cycle of "this is good, but actually, that's better," followed by a dozen little caveats that eventually render the whole point moot.
If I were to offer a recommendation for your listening, I would suggest Halid Bešlić. Given your taste, I imagine you likely already know his entire discography by heart, but there is certainly no harm in revisiting his work. Enjoy.
