I mentioned my follow-up surgery over in the cardiac surgery thread... if you recall... the Bental re-op and all that.
Now that I'm recovering, I'm taking Marivarin as usual, plus Nebilet to manage my blood pressure. I’ve noticed that since this second surgery, alcohol just doesn't sit right with me anymore... haha.
To be clear, I'm not talking about heavy drinking—just a single glass. Even a little bit of spirits makes my heart race. Before the re-op, I was used to a resting pulse of 50, so seeing it hit 80 now feels like a massive jump. I'm wondering if this is tied to my medications? Should I be avoiding alcohol entirely? I keep thinking about those folks at the cardiology clinic who seemed to handle it just fine. They kept pushing through, even if they dealt with some minor hiccups at Jil during that brief crisis... then went straight back to things like Bevanda.
So, my question is... is it nothing or anything? 😁
Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and ICU: Q&A in Health ·
Hello to all the on-duty professionals here. It’s clear everyone on this forum is incredibly knowledgeable. I recently met the anesthesiologist who handled my heart surgery less than two months ago—a very handsome young doctor.🙂 He was actually quite surprised that I took such an interest in finding out who my anesthesiologist was; in practice, most patients don't really care who administers their anesthesia, nor do they realize how vital that role is. I'm just so glad I got to meet him. I didn't think to ask him directly at the time, so instead, I'll ask you: how long does it typically take for a patient to wake up in the ICU following a procedure like mine (a Bentall procedure)? All I can say about my time in the ICU was 😢😢😢 brrrrrrrrrrrr
Warm regards to everyone,🙂
