My partner and I have some serious doubts regarding certain family connections, so I’m wondering if anyone here has gone through the process of DNA testing to settle things like this. Is it actually possible to determine the specific degree of kinship, or does the science only confirm whether a biological link exists at all?

On another note, my boyfriend has a sister with Down syndrome. While we understand that Down syndrome itself isn't hereditary, we are naturally being extra cautious about other potential genetic disorders that might be passed down to our children.
Because of that, I wanted to ask: are there any legitimate compatibility tests available for couples? Is that also handled via DNA sequencing, or is it something else entirely?

What has been your experience with these kinds of tests?

I just stepped out of the pharmacy, and honestly, I’m at my breaking point with this gum pain...
My dentist hasn't been able to see me yet, but I couldn't just sit here and suffer through it.
The pharmacist looked over these three options—doxycycline, lansoprazole, and Almacin—and gave me her take:

She warned me that doxycycline is far too harsh, and that lansoprazole isn't really what I need right now; she thinks Almacin is the only tolerable choice among them.

I’m planning to head to a periodontist specialist later today to get a real professional opinion and figure out what's actually going on.

To be honest, I feel like I've come down with a massive cold, and I suspect this gum swelling is just my body reacting to being run down.

Is it even worth asking something like this?

The other day, I was chatting with a doctor who dropped a bit of a bombshell on me regarding deodorant sticks. She claimed they’re incredibly harmful because the skin absorbs them much more aggressively than a standard spray or roll-on. She even went as far as suggesting that using these sticks could potentially trigger breast cancer in women. 👎

What have you all heard about this? What’s your go-to—are you sticking with the solid sticks, or do you prefer a different type of deodorant?
