Good grief. Do you even have a soul? Look, *Biutiful* isn't necessarily going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I don't think anyone should be able to sit through this and feel absolutely nothing. The acting is top-tier. The story hits you like a freight train emotionally, and the directing is spot on. It’s one of those movies that just gets under your skin and stays there. Honestly, it took me a minute to pull myself together after watching it.
Yeah, I have a heart. I'm not ashamed to cry at a movie if it actually moves me—and yeah, I'm a guy, so deal with it... but this movie? It didn't move me one bit. It felt totally unconvincing, and frankly, I found it painfully boring. I'm seeing that most people here actually liked it, so maybe the problem is just me.🤷

Look, we don't all vibe with the same stuff. Maybe you just weren't in the right headspace for it. I might have come off a little harsh, but clearly, I absolutely loved this movie.

I caught the premiere on Thursday. I’d seen the trailer beforehand, and since I knew Inarritu was directing, I was expecting some smart, beautiful indie-style masterpiece rather than a standard Hollywood production. Instead, I walked away feeling pretty let down. It drags on for two and a half hours, feels exhausting, and is just plain boring. The theme is solid, but the movie itself is a total bust.[/QUOTE

Good grief, man. Do you even have a heart? > is incredible. Look, I get that not everyone is going to love it, but I don't think anyone should be able to watch this and feel nothing. The acting is top-tier. The story is so heavy and gut-wrenching, and the direction is flawless. This is one of those movies that really gets under your skin. Honestly, it took me a while to shake it off.
One of the scenes that really stuck with me—hands down—was definitely the one with the flowers. It was basically this whole "this stunted thing won't let anything healthy actually bloom" vibe... honestly, such a killer metaphor.
Honestly, this American production feels all over the place to me. Like, Bob is absolutely killing it, and Nile is brilliant at times, though she can feel a little forced or "acted" in certain spots. That whole bit where the artist spots the family on the road reminded me so much of *Vicky Cristina Barcelona* or maybe *Penelope*. That specific scene was solid. And Mirela Brekalo? Wow, she really stands out. But man, that actress at the beginning—the one asking her about the bail money—she totally threw me out of the moment.

The rest of the cast worked for me. Sure, some parts felt a bit stretched or overly dramatic, but I actually got sucked in. I even got chills, so yeah—the movie definitely has some meat on its bones.

My only real gripe is that I wish they’d tied everything together better. Whether it’s through the characters or the locations, I don't know. It just lacks that cohesive glue to hold it all together.
