The only reason I factored in the NVIDIA GTX 465 was because a decent HD 5850 wasn't available for $700 😁
.
I just took another look at the reviews and yeah, it's true: the NVIDIA GTX 465 is a total flop; it actually loses to the NVIDIA GTX 275 😂😂
quite often.
If you can snag an NVIDIA GTX 460 at Best Buy, go for that, otherwise, maybe stick with the HD 5850 😉

Hmm, I don't see much of an offer on those newer cards over at Linksys, but maybe check out ADM instead? (Chicago) They'll handle the assembly for free, test everything, and ship it right to you—plus their prices seem a bit lower than what Linksys is charging. Here’s something similar:
1 x Gigabyte MA770TA-UD3, AMD 770+SB710, S. AM3, 6xSATA RAID, 2xSATA
2 x DDR3 2048Mb ( 2Gb ) Kingmax, 1600MHz, CL9, FLGE85F-B8KL9
1 x AMD Athlon II x4 635, socket AM3, BOX , 2Mb cache, 95W
1 x HDD WD 640Gb, WD6400AAKS, SATA II, Buffer 16Mb, 3Gb/s, 7.200 rpm
1 x Napajanje SEASONIC 520W, SS-520GB, S12 II, aktivni PFC
1 x Gigabyte GTX 465 1Gb GDDR5 256bit, DVI+VGA+HDMI, PCI-X 2.0
$1779
If you need to cut costs a little, you could probably save some money by switching to this motherboard:
That would be my suggestion 😉

I'm not sure what happened; I checked it on my end and it seemed fine🤷

Honestly, there’s no point going any higher than this because of the processor limitations; I mean, I once ran the exact same CPU paired with an 8600GT myself. 😁

They really had to overcomplicate things, didn't they? If Lewis Hamilton ends up starting third, I guess you could call that a win. 🤦
I heard there was some kind of issue with the rear end of Jenson Button's car. 🤷
Maybe the race will actually be interesting now, at least. 🙂

I actually tuned out during practice with about 25 or 26 minutes left on the clock. I mean, how is it that nobody managed to improve on those top ten times? 🤷
It looked like Fernando Alonso and the Red Bull guys were actually putting in some work, while everyone else just seemed to be cruising around the track. 😁

The processor is decent enough, but honestly, it won't fully utilize the card. You’d probably need at least an Athlon II X2 250/255—though since you're already on dual-core, that might not be worth the jump. If you are looking to invest more, I'd suggest going for the x4 630, and maybe even a new motherboard if your current one is just a basic AM2 setup. I mean, you can't really be 100% sure an AM3 chip will play nice with an AM2 board. 😉

Personally, I’d probably lean toward the HD 4770 if you're looking to save a bit of cash, but if you can swing it, go for the GTX 250...
The GTX 250 actually edges out the HD 4850 slightly, whereas the HD 4770 is pretty much on par with the HD 4850—maybe a tiny bit slower, but honestly, you probably wouldn't even notice...
EDIT: Since the CPUs here won't really be able to keep up with high-end graphics anyway, these two are likely your best bets.🙂

The SS 430W should definitely cut it, but what else is in the build? I mean, the difference is just $23, yet you get way more headroom with the SS 520W. Personally, I'd probably grab that one since it gives you much more room to upgrade things later on without any headaches 🙂
The card itself is decent, but you might find something better out there. I'm not sure if you have any kind of discount at HG-Spot, but is that where you're shopping? They tend to be a bit pricey...
For $17, you can actually snag a slightly better GeForce GTS 250, and for $17, I think I've seen the Radeon HD 4770, which is more efficient, much newer, and likely outperforms the 9800GT 😉

I don't really get how there isn't more overtaking here. You've got two long straights, two slightly shorter ones, and then heavy braking zones—are the corner exits just that messy that nobody can get anywhere near each other? 🤷
In theory, the whole track looks pretty interesting and exciting, but the actual race is 👎

I’d probably lean toward the 9800 GTX. It’s maybe an extra hundred bucks over a new HD 4670, but it's way more powerful... 😉
If gaming is really the main priority, that would be my pick 🙂

Regarding those softer tires... when Jenson Button was fighting to stay in it during Qualifying 2, he put together three consecutive fast laps on them. He kept dropping time every single lap, and by that third one, he managed to shave off 0.6 seconds from his previous best. Maybe they aren't actually as bad as everyone seems to think? 🤷 😕

I've been watching for the last 20 minutes, and it looks like everyone’s been trying to burn through those soft tires. From what I can tell, they seem to last about two and a half laps. 😁
