The GTX 260 averages about 5-6% better than the HD 5770, but now that the GTX 460 is finally out, I guess there isn't much point in picking one up anymore... it's kind of outdated 😛

Let me know what the rest of the build looks like 🙂

For that kind of money, you could practically pick up an HD 5670 at Best Buy that would blow this out of the water. I guess the GT 220 might be a tiny bit better than a 7600GS, but probably not enough to make it worth the hassle 😛

From what I’ve gathered browsing through various forums, people don't seem all that thrilled with it. Sure, it beats the stock cooler, but the temperature drop feels pretty negligible. I guess $17 you might actually get more bang for your buck with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 +, which seems to cool twice as effectively... 🙂

Give this a shot:

Tell $67 that if you're paying for shipping, the price is just way too high for a card like that. I guess maybe $33 plus shipping is the absolute limit, but still...

And honestly, you might want to look for a beefier processor, maybe a 3700+—assuming you're running an sck. 939 motherboard, though I highly doubt that's the case...

From what I’ve gathered, Sapphire tends to have slightly better coolers, but it’s all pretty much in the same ballpark...

GTX 460, you're starting to get a little repetitive with these same old questions...

Not really, though I guess you might save maybe 7 bucks $2.75... ☕

brisklynx48 said:So everything stays the same, except this graphics card is an EVGA GeForce GTX 460, 1024MB DDR5 192-bit, SE.

And I guess, would it be a problem if I used 2GB of RAM instead of 4GB?

If you're running 64-bit Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you really ought to go with 4 GB. But if you're on Windows XP or a 32-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7, 2 GB should probably be enough to start with, and then maybe you can just add another 2GB of the same RAM later.😉

Asrock M3A UCC — featuring NVIDIA CrossFire, Intel SB600, ATX, and a 1000 FSB.
One Intel Core i7, LGA 1366 socket, boxed version, C3.
Just picked up two 2GB sticks of Kingmax DDR3—1600MHz, CL9 (FLGE85F-B8KL9).
One EVGA GeForce GTX 460, featuring 1GB of DDR5 and a 256-bit bus with 336 stream processors, clocked at 675 MHz.
One Pioneer GH22NS DVD burner—it's a DVD±RW that handles 22x DVD±R, 8x DL, and 40x CD-R.
I guess I've got one Corsair 520W power supply, specifically the SS-520GB S12 II model with active PFC.

$1658

You didn't even mention the price. ☕

The last one is definitely the strongest of the bunch, and honestly, it's a steal at that price point...

The Nvidia GTX 460 is the better pick, and honestly, I'd skip the ASUS models—they always seem overpriced compared to the rest. Maybe look at a Gigabyte or an MSI instead...
The main difference between a standard AMD Radeon HD 5770 and the Vapor-X version is just the cooling; the latter definitely has the superior setup...

This one's a bit weaker than yours:

Though, I guess this second option isn't much of an upgrade over the Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT, so if you already own that, it might not be worth the money...

If you can grab this one, go for it:

But if that’s pushing it, maybe try this instead:

The first one is roughly in the same ballpark as an ATI Radeon HD 3870, whereas the second one is a bit weaker, I guess... 😛

It’s decent, but honestly pretty dated... there are probably better deals out there. I'd suggest grabbing an Nvidia GTS 250 if you're buying 🙂

Nobody ever actually said Jenson was just a number two driver. I guess people just like to jump to conclusions.

🤣

Wait, are you actually trying to argue that Jenson Button isn't the number two driver at McLaren?! 🤣 Muahaha 🤣

I really don't feel like going over those McLaren-esque little inside jokes again, nor am I in the mood to deal with that recent schizophrenic screaming: Jenson, we really need to watch the fuel consumption here; it's looking pretty critical. I guess you really have to prioritize saving fuel. 🤣

Nobody ever actually ordered him to let Lewis through. The only thing they didn't allow him to do was get into those stupid, risky, and totally unnecessary scraps with his own teammate. I mean, we've already seen exactly how much of a disaster that looks like over at Red Bull.

So, I guess Lewis is just allowed to dive into those stupid, risky, and totally unnecessary battles with him? 😉 If you didn't happen to have one of the smartest, most level-headed drivers like Jenson Button as a second driver, we probably would've been watching a total McLaren disaster shortly after that mess with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. If they had paired him with two Lewis Hamiltons instead of Button, things would've gone south fast. Honestly, I don't know how you can even bring that up without feeling a bit embarrassed. 😁 It was pretty wild seeing how that clash actually went down. I guess you have to wonder what might have happened if Jenson hadn't been playing it safe by managing his fuel, or if he had just decided to hold his racing line instead. 😛 😁

Look, they told Lewis Hamilton to conserve fuel earlier, and he actually did it—dropping just two seconds per lap. But then, after the team radio said Jenson was also saving and wouldn't overtake if Lewis slowed down, Jenson pulled up right behind him and went for the pass anyway. 🙂

It’s probably no wonder Hamilton got annoyed. Either his team wasn't being honest with him, or Jenson lied to them, or maybe he wasn't even informed while they told Hamilton nothing would happen. 😉

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuKJhnBA64E

It seems pretty obvious that Hamilton is using shorter gears and lifting off the throttle a bit earlier. 😛

What happened today was way too blatant. I guess both drivers are a bit smarter than your average Red Bull fan; they probably wouldn't have collided if they'd gone head-to-head. We saw how Fernando Alonso almost overtook near the Parabola—if he’s that much faster, why didn't he try again? 🤷

Ham was about two-tenths slower than his previous run in that last attempt.🤦

Maybe just a little mistake somewhere.🤷

I noticed the McLaren is looking pretty desperate in Sector 3; Jenson Button lost about four-tenths right there.😵

Why was the race at Indianapolis such a mess? 🤷

It feels like they just overcomplicated everything because they missed their window to react after Robert Kubica had to pull out. Honestly, if Fernando Alonso had just yielded the position like everyone else does, there wouldn't have been an issue. 😉

OT: I'm starting to think Ferrari won't be able to get that blown diffuser working on the car; it almost seems like they're actually slower with it. 😂

Gregory Murphy66 said:Oh, okay... That's exactly why I was asking since I wasn't sure. 🙂 Thanks for the help.

Hmm, I'm just using the stock cooler on my CPU, so I'm not sure if it can be overclocked at all—maybe just a little bit?

You might be able to squeeze out maybe 200-300 MHz, but you really need to watch those temperatures. Honestly, those Intel stock coolers aren't great; looking at my own processor, I know what I'm talking about.😁

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 is a bit more powerful than the HD 5770, so I guess your processor might struggle to even feed an HD 5770, let alone an HD 5830.😁
If you managed to overclock it to 3.5 GHz, you might be able to...
