Best places to buy and rent movies? in Movies ·
Alex Hall4 said:So, I'm also on the hunt for a video rental shop that sells DVDs (in Chicago).
Anyone know one?

Honestly, regarding VHS tapes, don't bother buying them from rental places. You're better off hitting up the staff at Hollywood; they used to carry a ton of great titles at really fair prices, and you know the stock is actually decent.
For DVDs, I'd suggest checking out IBM every now and then because they occasionally have some gems at $17. I actually picked up A Nightmare Before Christmas there for $17 just the other day.

If you're dead set on buying from a rental shop, try Altria over in the downtown area or near the suburbs; they usually have heaps of old movies in pretty good condition. If you spot something you love but it isn't marked for sale, just ask 😉

but let's try not to go too far off topic right now

Compared to Fant 4 and Daredevil, it’s a masterpiece. Honestly, they did a pretty decent job adapting it for the screen too.
As for Superman, yeah, he should've starred in it with Cameron directing.
If I remember correctly, the plot was supposed to take place after Superman's "death," once he had lost most of his powers; he couldn't fly anymore, but he could teleport (I think there was even a connection to Doomsday).
I recall him wearing some kind of white and blue suit with lightning in his eyes.
It was meant to be filmed sometime in the 90s, but Cameron pivoted to Titanic and dropped both Superman and Spider-Man—the latter of which Sam Raimi eventually took over.

Oh, one more thing regarding Ghost Rider: originally, Johnny Depp was lined up for the role, which, let's be real, would have been a much better adaptation. Also, Nicolas Cage was supposed to play Iron Man, though I have no clue what happened to that project in the end.

you guys see it?

🤣 yeah, if the kid could actually scratch his ankles, he might look less creepy. 🤣
everything looks like a shadow of Grey's Anatomy to me, honestly.
Doc, stop copying 🙂
Tom Cruise might just be jacknife
Well, we already called him a "Jackass" 😕
Right next to Matador - Blazing Saddles
Pete's Dragon http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076538/ 😠
And just so we're clear, that isn't Santa Claus up there—it's either Bad Santa or Santa's Slays.

With an elephant, you might as well be looking at E.T.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
The Fly
E.T.
Pete's dragon.
Anaconda.
revolver
Stealth mode. Just like that one time I tried to sneak into a movie theater in Chicago without paying—didn't work out as planned.
Just an airplane.
Phone booth.
dragonfly
Broken Arrow.
The crash fly.
The hole.
Twister.
The Rock.
Napoleon Dynamite.
The hand that rocks the cradle.
The Crow.

Ugh, I'm done.

That isn't low-budget; it's just zero-budget trash horror.

If you want a low-budget B-movie, look at something like Terminator.
