I know plenty of movies where you just can't see the twists coming, so it’d be cool to chat about them...

Fincheresque Se7en definitely hits hard for film buffs too...

1.The Usual Suspects 🙏 🙏 🙏 is hands down my number one pick.
Then I noticed people mentioning Saw, and then there's Unbreakable with Samuel L. Jackson, which
completely floored me. Then Chinatown—you know, that legendary scene where he says, "She's my daughter"
and then "She's my sister."
Someone brought up Se7en, too; plus Matchstick Men, Mulholland Drive, and Fight Club. Does anyone else remember Don't Look Now or The Shawshank Redemption?
To wrap this up, I have to mention what might actually be more unpredictable than The Usual Suspects:
Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock. 🙏

Just a heads-up, you gotta use spoiler tags when talking about Chinatown... some people haven't seen it yet...

I'm not just talking about movies with a twist (there's already a thread for that). I mean movies where it's hard or even impossible to predict what happens next—not just thrillers, but dramas too. Like, you can't see certain events coming, such as someone committing suicide (😛), which completely flips the plot. (Already mentioned Identity). It doesn't strictly have to be a "twist"...

The movie was so dark and I wasn't even expecting anything close to a ''Happy Ending'', but those horrors at the end... I didn't see them coming in my wildest dreams...

Even though that’s the genre I was obsessed with a while back—the kind of stuff where I'd love a movie no matter how bad it actually was—I don't think Conversation belongs in this category... unless we're talking about the one where Gene Hackman ends up playing the saxophone at the end (not a spoiler, really)...

Anyway, everyone I wanted to bring up has already been mentioned, so...

When I was a kid, I found it so cool when (since we're talking about an Indian) the little girl in Signs kept leaving water out, and then later (spoiler ahead) you find out that aliens are actually terrified of water.
That part totally fascinated me
But honestly? Today, I'd probably think it was just silly.
And shallow, too.

"Abril Ensalada," without a doubt...
"Schwartz and his singer" (which was translated so poorly and clumsily in the US version) aka the absolute masterpiece "Crimen Ferpecto" by Alejandro Sanz—it’s a brilliant dark comedy packed with twists you just won't see coming...
"Dot the i" starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Natalie Portman... completely unpredictable, top-tier filmmaking, and honestly, it leaves you absolutely stunned. 🙂
