I have a question... is it actually possible to experience gas poisoning symptoms over an extended period? My cousin spent three months living in an apartment where it was eventually discovered that the gas lines were leaking in two separate spots. Nobody knows exactly how long this had been happening or the specific volume of the leak, but once the local utility company conducted their routine inspection, things went into a complete tailspin. During those three months, she was dealing with constant nausea and debilitating migraines, and she felt perpetually exhausted and lethargic. I’m wondering if this could be considered a "sub-acute" phase of gas exposure. Should we be taking her to a doctor since she was directly exposed? The leaking pipe was located in the hallway right outside her bedroom, and she always sleeps with her door open. Or is it possible we're just overreacting? Everything is fine now—the issue has been repaired and she isn't being exposed anymore—but I'm still concerned. Who would be the best professional to consult about this?
I have a quick question for the group 😁 My health certification expired about five months ago. Since I switched jobs back then, I didn't see any reason to bother renewing it at the time. However, I’m looking at taking on some freelance work as a hostess and promoter now, so I need it again 🙄 Does anyone know what the actual procedure looks like? Has anyone dealt with this recently? Specifically, I'm wondering if I can just go through a renewal process, or am I stuck having to start from scratch with a brand-new certification? 😕
Michelle Wood67 said:Can someone please clarify one more time: is the employer actually obligated to cover medical costs when you're hired through a staffing agency?

The situation involves McDonald's, and they ended up quitting because the job turned out to be nothing like what was originally discussed—it was a completely different role altogether.

A friend of mine used to work at McDonald's, so I know from certain reliable sources that they do cover medical expenses—but here’s the catch: they reimburse you AFTER you've completed three months under the initial contract.🙄🙄🙄 Their logic is basically that it isn't worth paying for someone's medical coverage if that person quits after two weeks and then goes off to use those benefits somewhere else while the company eats the cost. Honestly, what an absolute joke. 🙄
Bottom line, if you haven't hit that three-month mark, they aren't going to cut you a check for those medical costs.
So, what actually went down? I don't quite follow. Did they promise you one thing and then pull a complete bait-and-switch once you showed up...?
