If you could come back to life, would you? in Spirituality ·
I’d definitely go back
They aren't at the farmer's market anymore, but I spotted them today over at the fairgrounds—they're selling that oil at the old tavern
So, here’s my situation: I’m a family man with a steady job, and an idea just popped into my head...
I have a buddy who works in TV and owns a professional camera setup.
He’s even got a home studio where he can handle all the editing.
I could reach out to him about this.
I can take care of the logistics and schedule the interviews since I know plenty of people from various local churches across the country.
I'm originally from Columbus, Ohio.
I've also got some savings put aside, so funding shouldn't be an issue.
The only thing is, I don't personally have the bandwidth to conduct the actual interviews.
However, I am overflowing with ideas and a massive list of questions.
If anyone else is interested in jumping on this, I’d be happy to lead the project so we can sit down and talk details.

My goal is to turn this into a really great comedy.
I’d love to show that people still believe in all sorts of things.
And they’re even teaching others to believe in them too.
My main focus would be on the Catholic faith and its dominance, cults, and other similar organizations.

Does anyone here have experience with filming?
Go watch the movie Religulous online.
You can find it with American subtitles too.
I really want you guys to see what kind of film I’d love to make myself.
I think the whole point of the film should be to find those "ordinary," "normal" people—the ones who hold religious or educational authority here in America, and who set a poor example for their kids and friends because of their narrow-mindedness and one-dimensional views on life.
The goal is to show that people still believe in all sorts of things.

I just watched
Religulous.
It’s actually great.
It got me thinking that we could make a similar film right here in the States.
I don't personally have the time to take this on, but I really hope someone finds the drive to produce an American version.
The concept would be simple.
We’d go door-to-door—visiting Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, and Pentecostal churches, then hitting up Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Orthodox congregations...
just asking them various questions about their faith.
The movie would work so well as a satire or a comedy...
mostly because I have so many questions for these people.
One question is better than the next.
Now I just need to find someone willing to film it.
Are there any students in here who might be interested?
Also, I highly recommend watching Bill Maher's Religulous.
Best,
those are just

I agree with that. The moderator can handle it if they want to.
That oil at Hofer costs about $2.20
around $5.00
it’s actually just 20% pumpkin seed oil mixed with 80% white oil
it's basically just salad oil
but he's selling it for $13 and tricking people into thinking it's pure black oil.
Unfortunately, he isn't the only one.
I've seen people acting like this in Washington, D.C., at local farmers' markets, or even just out in the suburbs...
But it really hurts when it affects retirees like my mother.
Next time I see him at the market, I might just have to ask him: "Do you have no shame?"
And where exactly are you crossing the border?
At which checkpoint?
Or are you finding some way around, through areas where there's no oversight and only an occasional patrol?
Because then
I'll be reporting both you and whatever corrupt customs officer or cop is letting you slide right through!😠
I got home today to find that my mom had sat down and bought some black pumpkin seed oil at a fair in a small town in the Midwest (though you can also find it at the local farmers market in Savannah). $13It’s from a smuggler.
I know that guy drives all the way from Austria to buy his supplies in bulk at Hofer, where he gets everything for about a third of the price.

The website provided outlines information regarding specific product details and technical specifications available through Hofer.

So, that means there's a 200% profit margin per gallon.
Just swap out the label and resell it.

It honestly breaks my heart to see seniors who are already struggling just to get by falling for scams like this.

It still bothers me that a smuggler like that probably has someone on the border looking the other way.

Both of them really ought to be reported!!!!
