Sore mouth and swollen glands in Health ·
Alright, here is the situation...

About three days ago, I felt a lump forming on the right side of my neck, just below the jawline—my immediate thought was an inflamed gland, even though I’ve never dealt with anything like that before. The lump actually grew, and after sleeping on it, the gums near my lower front teeth—and slightly above them too—started feeling swollen. I headed straight to the ER, where they prescribed me erythromycin; I took the first capsule yesterday evening.

As of today, things have taken a turn for the worse. The swelling on the right side of my neck is clearly visible now, making it difficult to swallow saliva—don't even get me started on solid food. I've also been dealing with a fluctuating fever, which peaked at about 100.4 last night.
During the day, I noticed some hypersensitivity and a white coating—sort of a film—on my tongue, and now these little bumps have started appearing.
To top it all off, I've developed two canker sores on my lower lip out of nowhere. I'm not sure if those are linked to the inflammation in my mouth since they showed up last.
My boyfriend had a cold sore about a week ago, and he’s down to just a small scab now, but he never experienced any of this intensity.

I would appreciate any advice or similar experiences you all might have.
Thanks for all the feedback. I’m going to have a sit-down with him—we'll see how it goes from there. My hope is that he actually provides some help and that I can finally get through to him. Thanks to everyone for the input.
Greetings, everyone. I haven't had the chance to read through everything previously posted—there is simply too much volume here—so I hope you will forgive my sudden "intrusion" into this discussion.

I am deeply concerned and am reaching out for advice, shared experiences, or perhaps some perspective.
For four months now, my boyfriend has been struggling with intense headaches located at the base of his skull, right above the neck. He refuses to take any medication because he wants to avoid being "poisoned" by drugs, so he just endures the pain.
Perhaps I am being slightly paranoid—given that several members of my family have dealt with cancer (on my mother's side, specifically, but still...)—but everything clicked when I saw a news segment on CNN. They showed a woman who identified an eye tumor in a child just by noticing something looked off in her photos. Looking closely at my boyfriend’s pictures, I realized his right eye looks strangely blurred in most of them.
He wears glasses, and in photos where they are visible, they don't seem to obscure anything; it is only in many shots taken with a flash that his eyes turn out looking like that.
I haven't mentioned this to him yet—he would likely call me crazy—and besides, he is completely resistant to seeing a doctor.

What should my next move be? How can I personally find some peace of mind, and more importantly, how can I get him to understand the necessity of medical attention?
Does anyone have any experience with similar situations? Please, tell me anything you can. 😢
